Help, please! which wine red bag???

OK. I've decided I really, really want a dark/wine red bag to go with my A/W wardrobe.

Was originally planning on this:

www.russellandbromley.co.uk/shoppers/miniwillow/invt/712478
It's just the colour I want, I know it's good quality, and I have some R and B credit. Only thing I'm worried about is that it has no top zip and the internal purse will only have room for keys, Oyster card and credit card. so makeup etc will have to go in a separate purse - fiddly.

Have also looked at this:

www.lkbennett.com/bags/shoulder/BSKARA627PRINTLEATHER

Don't like the colour quite as much but has a little more inside - eg keyfob.

Or, I could go with this:

www.kipling.com/uk-en/bagsational-2.html?show_img=K1529565700+999

Cheaper, more secure but looks less classy?

Or, I could go completely away from my original tote/shopper idea and go for this - which is reduced at moment:

www.peonyandmoore.com/product_info.php?cPath=0_12&products_id=190 P and M are nice bags, but red slightly lighter than ideal.

Please, please, help me with votes/ comments.

TIA.

My personal opinion.
I will try to answer in order! I like the russell & Bromley one but only you can say about the size. Very nice looking bag.

The LK Bennet one is a lovely colour but a bit too shopper bag for me to love it.

The Kipling one is horrible! Sorry,it looks a revolting colour and material. The monkey is cute. For a six year old!

The olivia one by Peony & Moore is frumpy. I'm nearly fifty and wouldn't want to carry that as it looks like a smart nan bag!

So overall I like your first choice best!

SundaySimmons · 05/10/2013 00:22

Cafecito, the solo one is lovely. I like that very much.

Buttercup4 · 05/10/2013 00:26

The Russell and Bromley one is nice, the others... not so much Smile

Twinklestein · 05/10/2013 00:31

Love the Russell & Bromley one. But - a bag with no zip in London is a nightmare.

How about this Radley one as a compromise. Same colour but fully secure. Comes in a larger size too. (I don't usually like Radley but I like that).

Thanks so much - keep comments coming.
Must just say I would never leave the monkey on the Kipling one - wouldn't be seen dead with it !!!

The R&B one without a doubt - so much nicer than all the others!

bunnymother · 05/10/2013 06:46

Of all the links on this page, I would only choose between the R&B bag, the Hobbs bag and the Whistles satchel bag. They look the loveliest to me.

SundaySimmons · 05/10/2013 08:05

The Hobbs Perrin bag is quite nice! lovely colour. Not as nice as the Russel & Bromley one.

I'm not a lover of shiny bags so I don't like the Karen Millen quilted one.
When patent wears of, even just a small patch it makes the bag look tatty, more so than a small scuff in leather.

The other Karen millen one is lovely.

I like the shape of the DKNY one but not the good hardware, especially the entwining of the strap.

I'd take off the MK tag though. Not because of the brand, I just think the disc would look better hanging from a rappers neck!

Hassled · 05/10/2013 08:19

The first Russell and Hobbs one. It's absolutely gorgeous.

Decameron · 05/10/2013 09:03

The R&B, love that one.

I have the R and B mini-willow in dark green. It looks lovely but has been rarely used. It's not the most practical of bags, with no zip (although there is an attached leather purse inside). It can't go over the shoulder and is quite heavy as a hand held bag.

i'd like this but in leather

polyhymnia · 05/10/2013 10:15

Thanks so much for all suggestions. Several to explore in more detail here.

Only ones I'd eliminate personally are those with very obvious metal-ware - eg, even that DKNY plate isn't to my taste, though bag is nice. And, I've decided, nothing shiny - apologies for that Kipling one I posted myself - a mistake, I agree, now crossed off!

As majority of you have said, the R and B one looks far and away the best. It's my original love. But I do fears it'll end up not used much, exactly for reasons novel says - though I think I can get it to go on my shoulder by having more holes made in straps.

Quite surprised no takers for the P and M one - only because seem to be quite a few P and M fans on here.

What about these:

www.russellandbromley.co.uk/shoppers/cara/invt/712787
Also R and B, similar colour to other but has a zip at top. I'd keep zips on side done up, I think.

[[http://www.hobbs.co.uk/product/display?productID=0213-1228-020000&productvarid=0213-1228-020000-DEEP RED-1SIZE&refpage=bags]

Think this is winter version of a bag I bought from Hobbs this summer with 3 zipped compartments and really like. Only thing is, the zip tags might be too bling - would need to look.

Views welcome, please.
