Vintage Glamour back again!

So, I bought this and it arrived today. The only think I'm not convinced about is the colour, it's more pink than I would usually wear. Grin

What I'm most pleased about is that I ordered a medium & it fits!!!! Wasn't sure if I'd have to lose a pound or two!

So, please convince me it's lovely, very vintage glamour & help with part 2...I need some underwear to smooth out my bumps, and shoes.

I quite like these but not sure about white (they do come in black too) and would prefer not to pay £75 if I can avoid it.

The dress is so beautiful - congratulations!! Not sure about the shoes. Actually, I am sure that they don't do the dress justice. How about a metallic coloured pair? I don't think style really matters, does it? Are you likely to see them under the floor length dress?

MrsHelsBels74 · 01/10/2013 10:58

No you won't really see the shoes (especially as I have about a foot of fabric pooled around my feet at the moment, it will need taking up) but I still want authentic looking shoes if that makes sense.

I already have these (wedding shoes) but they don't really work either.

I also need jewellery ideas too!

What are you wearing the dress to?
Are these sort of 30s shoes?

MrsHelsBels74 · 01/10/2013 11:07

Dress is to my works Christmas party, theme is Vintage Glamour & I decided on 30s movie star.

As far as I can tell those M&S shoes are 30s style but I'm sure someone who knows more will be along to correct me!!!

Do you think a long string of pearls knotted towards the bottom would go with the dress?

TunipTheUnconquerable · 01/10/2013 11:11

That's insanely beautiful!

MarshaBrady · 01/10/2013 11:12

Lovely dress!

tethersend · 01/10/2013 11:14

Lovely dress Smile

I'd go with diamond earrings and shoes like these.

What's your budget?

MarshaBrady · 01/10/2013 11:15

Also hair loosely up and vintage-y earrings and bracelet?

tethersend · 01/10/2013 11:15

Yy to pearls also. Although not with diamonds- either/or

soaccidentprone · 01/10/2013 11:16

someone like these?

tethersend · 01/10/2013 11:19

What size are you?

MrsHelsBels74 · 01/10/2013 11:23

Am liking the idea of pearls. I was thinking of doing my hair in waves kind of like this although my hair is just below chin length so no idea how well it will work.

Liking the La Redoute shoes too.

Budget is as cheap as possible!

MrsHelsBels74 · 01/10/2013 11:25

Size 5 shoe

These from KG?

tethersend · 01/10/2013 11:30

here?

MarshaBrady · 01/10/2013 11:30

these

tethersend · 01/10/2013 11:31

here in silver or gold

LeoandBoosmum · 01/10/2013 14:12

I think some of the suggested shoes are too casual or clumpy to pair with that dress... I'm not necessarily suggesting the shoes I am going to link you to but I think the general style would be more fitting:

bunnymother · 01/10/2013 14:28

I would get either of the Kurt Geiger shoes that Marsha linked to. They are both lovely and you are likely to wear them again.

LeoandBoosmum · 01/10/2013 14:43

Re jewellery. Say you liked and bought the shoes I linked you to? For the look you're aiming for, you could tie the outfit together with silvery pearl or jet (onyx) jewellery... Something along these lines (I personally think drop earrings would look best):

Or this but with longer pearls (this one is £28.80 and the pearls are 40cm long ...and free shipping)

Or, forego the necklace and get an earring and bracelet set like this)

Or, these amazing earrings

with a necklace like this (this one's sold out :()?

Or find something to pair with this necklace (90cm long and really unusual!)

O this necklace and either of these earrings:

None that cheap but all things you could probably use again. And you made such a huge saving on the beautiful dress!

MrsHelsBels74 · 01/10/2013 15:00

Would these work with the tassel necklace?

OP posts:
MrsHelsBels74 · 01/10/2013 15:22

Quite like these with a rope of pearls

The Ghost dress is lovely.

Just in case anyone else is interested...

Hatfield Gallaria (near St. Albans) has a Ghost sale shop.

LeoandBoosmum · 01/10/2013 15:47

Yes, I think that style could work but they may be too silvery/ bright to coordinate well with the one I posted. I hate to sound negative but I don't like the earrings you posted...the first thing I thought when I saw them was yellow teeth...Eek, sorry...
