BD, your presence is required tomorrow evening. Or there'll be trouble. Wink (seriously, would love to finally meet you...).

MI - well done on maintaining the ladyjog (I also run at a very sedate pace, nowt wrong with that). I think it gets a bit serious around Week 5, when you suddenly realise "Christ, I'm actually running".

MrsS, I hope you found your shoe, and haven't spent the day hopping. I remember, many moons ago, sitting at my desk and looking at my left foot, and thinking "I don't remember choosing those shoes this morning." Then I looked at my right foot, and I was wearing a completely different shoe. Totally different colour, different heel height.....and I had to go through the rest of the day looking like a mad woman. Blush Weirdly, no-one seemed to notice, even though I developed a Bond-villain limp after a few hours.

Cremolafoam · 19/09/2013 13:27

cv Grin that's hilarious and reminds me of my dear late aunt. During a family funeral she was sat next to me and suddenly started making choking noises. I thought she was weeping over the departed relative and went to comfort her only to discover she was laughing uncontrollably and trying to suppress her snorts, When I look at her askance she pointed to her shoes. She had come out in her fluffy bedroom slippers and nobody had noticed.Blush

hattymattie · 19/09/2013 13:39

CV - I did that with long black boots - I got half way down the road before I noticed - obviously too many pairs.

BD - you should go - I wish I was Smile

bigTillyMint · 19/09/2013 13:46

BD, you should come - you are worth spending the money on yourself - I bet your DH wouldn't be wavering if it was something he wanted to doWink

I'm doing the NHS podcasts, complete with horrific cheesy music, OPM.

Today I am writing about dementia and visual hallucinations. This is a delightful break from writing about kids with tummy upsets.

Stropperella · 19/09/2013 14:40

Grin at footwear mix-ups. I feel a lot better about some of the things I do now. Like getting halfway down the road and wondering vaguely why the world has gone all wobbly before it dawns on me that I have forgotten to put my glasses on. (Usually I'm on foot when I do this. I've only done it once when driving thankfully, and did realise before I got out of our road.)

I have had a teeny S&B um.. setback. I thought I would endeavour to be a bit less blend-into-the-backgroundy by getting my eyelashes and eyebrows tinted for the first time in months. Even though the beautician only left the dye on for the same very short time she usually leaves it on for, my eyebrows seem to be extra-porous after the summer. I now have some splendid caterpillars to entertain you all with tomorrow. Blush

Wilbur, funny you should mention jazz piano. I suggested that 2 years ago as an alternative to dd giving up completely, but felt that she needed to give me some commitment that she would really make an effort (after we had had 3 changes of teacher anyway and had moved away from the whole idea of grade exams because they de-motivated her). That just didn't happen.

Cremolafoam · 19/09/2013 14:59

stropps I bet they're fine.
mine on the other hand look permanently quizzical , as if I'm forever cynical , thanks to over zealous threading lady.

bigTillyMint · 19/09/2013 15:04

Scousebrows, Stropps?

I have decided to get my nails gelled after workShock I bet they are all broken by tomorrow night!

motherinferior · 19/09/2013 15:12

I may dig out the Just for Men moustache dye and do mine...

wilbur · 19/09/2013 15:23

Gel nails, BTM, get you! Can you have some stars, flowers and glitter put on them, please. Stropps, you can calm your caterpillars a bit if you wipe a cotton wool ball of peroxide over them and then rinse off quickly.

I went to see About Time last night. And cried. How knackered and pre-menstrual must I be to cry at a money-for-old-rope Richard Curtis film? Hmm Blush

bigTillyMint · 19/09/2013 15:27

Noooo! I will just be going for a plain colour. Gulp!

Is About Time a weepy then? I love weepy's!

wilbur · 19/09/2013 16:06

Not a weepy in the tradition of romantic weepies, more a family weepy. A don't-waste-a-single-day-of-your-life weepy. And a very shameless tug on the heartstrings at the end, which did me in. I could have had a good old sob, but was with a very practical, stuff and nonsense friend who would have disowned me so I gulped it back. Mostly. Still, lovely performances and gorgeous locations, even though there was a general sense of "haven't I seen this in FOUR WEDDINGS / NOTTING HILL / LOVE ACTUALLY?".

motherinferior · 19/09/2013 16:40

Ahem Blush

[joins Stropps in Lycanthrope Corner]

Stropperella · 19/09/2013 16:58

Grin @ MI I have scrubbed my eyebrows. They now look like dishevelled caterpillars.

bigTillyMint · 19/09/2013 17:42

Had my nails done - they are short (I hadn't realised get does not mean extensions) and, ahem, fairly bright. The shortness is probably a good thing as I am very prone to catching my nails on things.

DS's man-jacket (men size M) has just arrived and it is only just big enoughShock My shoes were delivered by the same manConfused

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/09/2013 19:06

Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow, eyebrows and all. I may not make the cocktails as I have to meet DD1 from the station and take her home. What time is the table booked for in Tas?

I am horribly tired after an afternoon at work spent doing admin and trying to fill in the never ending questionnaire for my DV clearance.

bigTillyMint · 19/09/2013 19:16

Oh MrsS, you must come for cocktails! 7pm at Tas.

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/09/2013 19:32

DD1 thinks she may stay over at school as she has a Saturday morning rehearsal. Where are we cocktailing?

Cremolafoam · 19/09/2013 19:52

Oh was thinking of the Richard Curtis film for Saturday night if anyone would like to join me. Ill bring the tissues. ( hangover permitting)

BTM I was planning to get gel extensions - had to ask on another thread about these things as nail bar terminology is beyond the beyonds IMO Wink Then happened to mention it to my sister who is a midwife and she said not to bother as they will force me to get them off for the operation next week ha £ 45 saved.
However I will look scruff nailed tomorrow. It's gonna be warm innit.
Will I forget bringing my fleece lined coat ?
And just bring a brolly?

Blackduck · 19/09/2013 20:16

CV :). I did that - both black, but one open toed and the other not!!!! I phoned a friend who bought a series of replacements (and socks for boots as she had bigger feet)

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/09/2013 20:20

I went to a MN city mums meet up once. I turned up very late and very drunk. It was awful. I wobbled into this posh restaurant and they were all sitting down about to order. I don't think they were very impressed. I was largely ignored during the "I am so completely richer than yowww" conversations and I left early to get my train home to the arse end of nowhere. I went to another one (why??) which wasn't much better, but on both occasions I did meet one nice MNer (I think they felt sorry for me).

QueenQueenie · 19/09/2013 20:29

Can someone who's been paying proper attention post the details for tomorrow please?
What time and where for cocktails?
Which branch of Tas?
Ta muchly.

Cremolafoam · 19/09/2013 20:52

Mrs s I've been to two MN meet ups - including a Christmas one in London which ended up with me doing lindyhop dancing with marslady ( of lenon drizzle cake infamy ) amongst other things. I wont promise ill behave in a ladylike manner Blush
I don't get out much.....

CointreauVersial · 19/09/2013 21:00

I've been to a couple of general meetups, then a couple of crepey get-togethers. BTM was there for every one, as she is a social butterfly.Wink

So is it 7pm for cocktails? Why did I have 6pm in mind?
