As of this morning, a scant two weeks after putting me in the right size bra for the first time EVER, I own seven new bras.

Seven.

And I am STILL LOOKING. I am obsessed.

You will drive me to the poorhouse.

(It isn't quite as profligate as it sounds: most have cost me 5-8 pounds; the most expensive was 11. But even so.)

Please tell me I'm not alone and there are other MNers with a drawer full of new undies thanks to the Bra Enablers?

Ok, start point sounds around 34F.

I'd suggest starting with an Alana and one of the own brand plunges such as Satine in a 34F and FF.

Sometimes the side bulge is caused by the breast tissue sitting wider than the cups are spaced. If that's the case, the Freya Patsy half cup sits wider, and anything Tutti Rouge have produced so far.

Wonderstuff · 02/09/2013 21:58

So I have found 4 styles in 28c at figleaves, only one that was pretty, and one on the French La Redoute site.. I'm thinking that there must be more small back bras in France and also in Japan..? Wonder how difficult to import these are..?

SorrelForbes · 02/09/2013 22:06

I lived in SE Asia for a whole. All the bras started at a 32!

Wonderstuff · 02/09/2013 22:23

change.com/int/ this company seems to have a 28c bra selection.

Wonderstuff · 02/09/2013 22:24

Really? I imagined more small women = smaller bras..

Flibbertyjibbet · 02/09/2013 22:31

No I def don't need anything wider. The wires are wider than my boobs even with full on scooping practically from my spine Grin
When I put a bra on, even my so called newly fitted ones, I can pull the the cups sort of forward and up, and my boobs look a much nicer shape. But no matter what adjustment I do on the straps or scooping, the bra cups just go back down and to the sides...

This bra intervention thing is a long and frustrating road.... Specially when you live in a small town with no decent suppliers. When I've checked out bras in sainsbos the wires on a 34 f, honestly they look like half a bike wheel rim!

But F? SeriouslY?

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/09/2013 22:32

as far as I know the UK is one of the best places in the world for range of bras. The Americans on bra blogs mainly talk in British sizes and wear British bras because they can't get the range. or polish bras from ewa or comexim

Flibbertyjibbet · 02/09/2013 22:32

Sory what I was whining about is that even if it IS my boobs that sit wide, I don't just want a bra that sits around them, I want them forward and up!!!

goodasitgets · 02/09/2013 22:38

How about dotty spot by bravissimo? That has low wires and is quite projecting

CelticPromise · 02/09/2013 22:39

Flibberty have you ever tried a smaller back just to see? The sagging back into place usually happens to me in bras too big in the back. I've noticed one doing it today that has stretched beyond usefulness. Or perhaps the bras you've tried aren't up to the job, try a few different brands.

Flibbertyjibbet · 02/09/2013 22:42

Thanks the dotty spot looks really nice.

I just watched the bra fitting video on bravissimo website. On the well fitting bra, the side part of the wires is about 1/4 across under the armpit. Today my m£s dd cup is I would say 2/3 across my armpit towards my back. So am worrried how wide the wires would be in an f cup. I didn't go above a dd in m&s because when I tried an E on the cups were absolutely massive. Is that just marks general bad sizing?

goodasitgets · 02/09/2013 22:44

This one might work? It's the cherry fling. You can see although the wires come back, they're not armpit stabbers. This is a 34JJ too

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/09/2013 22:47

wires vary between brands and bras so whilst in theory all 34f would be able to contain the same volume of breast they can have very different shapes. Some are much wider but shallower for those with armpit boobs, whereas others have narrower wires so they project outwards more. Some are taller than others too.

and m&s sizing has apparently gone completely insane recently. It appears that the pattern cutters are on glueWink

goodasitgets · 02/09/2013 22:49

I think I get what flibberty wants - that even though boobs can be wide (like mine!) she wants the projection and forwardness rather than boobs in armpits effect
I get flattening with panache jasmine but its so comfy. I find the bravissimo bras give a more forward shape
Am waiting on a replacement darling heart due to wire popping out

Flibbertyjibbet · 02/09/2013 22:49

I am in a 34 already and measure 34.5, also I am middle aged and a bit overweight so even with a lot of scooping it here are bulges just due to my layer of fat on my bod. I have come down from 38b to 34 band, the band does not budge an inch all day so I'm confident that the band is ok.
I think it's just the too-wide cups on this crappy M&s one. I can't pull the straps up any higher or the bra cut into me at the point where my armpit meets my upper chest.
Sorry to be whingeing, I had to admit to myself this weekend that I am peri menopausal and feeling a bit depressed. I have been to debenhams, marks, Asda, next, primark, tk maxx and just Cant seem to find anything that puts my boobs forwards and up.

Not helping that I hate typing on an iPad!!!

[irritable face]

Flibbertyjibbet · 02/09/2013 22:55

Oh the last few x posts have really cheered me up. I thought the name of that bra was Cherry Filling ha ha. Thanks for the pic.

Your photo has made me realise why the cup on my bra tonight seems to sag. It's obvious (now!!!) after looking at your photo. The cups are too small so my boobs are pushing them down. Not enough fabric. And I'm trying to hoik up cups that are too full, which is why the straps feel so tight.

I am tempted to order a hit load of different bravissimos to try, on my credit card which I pay off in full each month... Then mpby the time the bill is due I will have returned several and had e refund debited to my card. Is this what other people do???

CelticPromise · 02/09/2013 22:55

Hmmm have you tried any Cleo bras? They give a real lifted shape.

Flibbertyjibbet · 02/09/2013 22:57

Asgoodasitgets yes that it exactly. I yearn for the days when I first discovered balconette bras and how they made my boobs point forward!! Still, I was 2 stone lighter and M&s had me in a 36AA when I was probably a 32d....

CelticPromise · 02/09/2013 22:58

I also get armpit bulge. Mine's not scoopable, it's just fat. I have a small waist and ribs relative to my fat arms and legs, so when I wear a bra to fit I can't do a thing about the armpit fat.

Flibbertyjibbet · 02/09/2013 22:59

Who makes the cleo? Or is that a whole new brand.

Starting to feel like I'm in bra overload Grin

marriednotdead · 02/09/2013 23:00

Cleo's are fab for lift, but armpit stabbers for high rooted breasts which is why I can't wear them despite them looking bloody perfect Hmm

SorrelForbes · 02/09/2013 23:03

Wonderstuff. You'd think so wouldn't you but they adhere to the +4/5" think over there. The bras also had no space in the cups at all, they were all padding. Very odd.

SorrelForbes · 02/09/2013 23:05

Cleo is made by Panache.

TBH my Cleos aren't the comfiest bras I own but the shape and lift they give is amazing. They're not painful or uncomfortable but after a day's wear I start to feel them digging in a little in my ribs.

Flibbertyjibbet · 02/09/2013 23:05

Ah height rooted breast. I think that mine. For many years I was the same nice rounded shape whether in a bra or without. Very high and pert.

Sob.

goodasitgets · 02/09/2013 23:05

Having just wrestled myself in and out of 3 bras I would suggest the cherry fling and dotty spot maybe then

This is lovely for pushing boobs forward - but I can't find it on the website and no idea which bravissimo bra it is!
