As of this morning, a scant two weeks after putting me in the right size bra for the first time EVER, I own seven new bras.

Seven.

And I am STILL LOOKING. I am obsessed.

You will drive me to the poorhouse.

(It isn't quite as profligate as it sounds: most have cost me 5-8 pounds; the most expensive was 11. But even so.)

Please tell me I'm not alone and there are other MNers with a drawer full of new undies thanks to the Bra Enablers?

I am a 30DD but it is so hard to find one cheaply in the shops I am tempted to just get 32Ds. Think I found the only 30DD in M&S the other day Hmm

SorrelForbes · 31/08/2013 20:10

Have you tried Debenhams Gorgeous range? They are very reasonable. TBH, I do practically all my bra shopping on-line as it's cheaper and there's more choice.

needasilverlining · 31/08/2013 20:20

hettienne, try Amazon (got an After Eden for 8.99), TK Maxx (Passionata, 6.99), Debenhams (Floozie one, really pretty, 9 pounds something and Ultimate in dark pink for approx 6 pounds).

Thanks StatisticallyChallenged Thanks

hettienne · 31/08/2013 20:30

Thanks, I will try Debenhams and Amazon.

MotherOfNations · 31/08/2013 20:41

I found 32Es in Primark a few weeks ago but the problem with primark bras is that the straps are a bit to elastic and stretch too much.

whats4teamum · 31/08/2013 20:43

I am newly sized as 34G and have found some great bras in asda. I have taken to going on their website, seeing what is available in my size and getting it delivered to store. Limits the time I have spend in our local asda.

Seem to wash well so far and don't have to last a lifetime at about £6.

RubyGoat · 31/08/2013 20:43

Agree all the bra interveners (?) are responsible for my mad expenditure on bras recently. I bought 5 about 4 months ago, then lost some baby weight. Bought 3 new ones 6 weeks ago & they already don't fit so I am going shopping tomorrow. A few years ago I would have put up with my crappy 34A but damn you! Now I know how they should fit I refuse to put up with anything less.

BTW if you have a branch near you, Boyes are good for discount bras. I got a lovely Lepel in there 6 weeks ago for £8, that no longer fits, sadly. I'm going tomorrow to see what they have in my current size (before the 'main' shopping trip on Monday) BlushGrin

needasilverlining · 31/08/2013 21:00

What is the fit on Gossard, experts?

And yes, THANK YOU. Wouldn't have thought so before, but is life-changing. Feeling so much more confident.

my bird print meg isn't perfect but I went in today and tried a few. marcie in purple in 30h,Melissa and the new meg were all good. New satine in a 28j also good, , verging on tight but 30 rides up. Also bought a 30gg deco hattie which is a little small but fine for under low tops where cleavage is the priority Grin

maddie disastrous, far too small. juna I think was too shallow, kind of crushed me flat. I think that as I have lost weight my boob shape has changed, they're getting narrower and deeper.

my older meg fits but has space at the top section. I think it's a flaw as the new one doesn't

OPeaches · 31/08/2013 21:46

Are the Debenhams Gorgeous small made? I'm delighted with my new Bravisimmo 32FFs, but the Gorgeous ones I tried on today gave me folds of back fat. Not attractive!

milktraylady · 31/08/2013 22:09

Loving that so many people are wearing the correct size bras now!

I wonder how long it will take for the retailers to analyse their sales & see a sales spike in the 30, 32 DD E F G sizes. And maybe design more bras in 28 & 30. After all, if they sell size 6 & 8 clothes (looking at you Topshop) then they should sell bras to fit the customers too!

Maybe we could stage an 'intervention' at the next industry sales conference???

scrazy · 31/08/2013 22:15

Where on the high street can I find 30F size bra's?

I'm going shopping soon and cannot believe 34DD I've been wearing for yonks are the wrong size but it does make sense. Straps always falling down, 4 bumps and not sitting properly.

CatAmongThePigeons · 31/08/2013 22:18

I got myself a Curvy Kate Tempt Me in a 32FF from Debenhams for under £8. These bra threads have actually helped my confidence no end! I have boobs.

(Still searching for a good cleavage enhancing bra for my ski-slopers)

alittlebitcountry · 31/08/2013 22:24

Please will one of you kind experts link to the instructions for measuring and working out the right size, I read them avidly on the old threads when I was pregnant but didn't think it was worth acting on. Now DS is here my bookmarks have gone kaput.
Tape measure at the ready...

MotherOfNations · 31/08/2013 22:42

Can't kink on my phone but Google The bra guru better bra campaign.

VikingLady · 31/08/2013 22:57

Debenhams clearance sale in Newcastle had a whole rail of 30s up to a K cup! Heartily recommend it. I assume other branches have a similar choice.

Oh, and I bought 3 34GGs for under £20 total. Two Gorgeous and a Freya Smile

jellyfl00d · 31/08/2013 23:02

Sorry if I come across ignorant but who are the 'bra enablers' and where I can I find them so I can too have co-ordinated undergarments for a fraction of the cost and feel wonderful? Smile

FriedSprout · 01/09/2013 00:30

Tis is one of the threads, you should find all links needed somewhere in here bra info

alittlebitcountry · 01/09/2013 01:00

Great, thank you Grin

alittlebitcountry · 01/09/2013 07:16

36G Shock

wrigglebum · 01/09/2013 07:35

I found one of the bra threads a while ago so I'm getting a much better idea of what fits. I wore 34B for years, then 34D between children. Looking back I was probably a 30 back before and a 32 between children.

I only have 2 bras I can wear at the moment (I'm at a bit of an inbetween stage at the moment as I've just lost weight and stopped Breastfeeding so not much point going shopping for lots now). One is a lovely Rigby & Peller kindly sent to me by the lovely SorrelForbes, great on the cups but a touch big round the back now. The other is a Freya Lauren I got, but I've shrunk a bit so it's a touch big, especially on one side and all the scooping and hoiking in the world won't fill the small cup.

I'm going to give it a couple of months to settle then go shopping!

InMySpareTime · 01/09/2013 07:46

I have far fewer bras since intervention. I used to be a perfectly serviceable 38F, then got intervened to a 34GG, then lost 5st, leaving me at an unbuyable 26GG/HShock
If I was unintervened I would have been a 30 and probably about a DD, with cheap bras.
Unfortunately, now I know what a well-fitting bra feels like I can't go back to my cheap ignorance.
My quest to find a cheap well-fitting 26 back bra is thus far fruitless. I have an M&S 28GG plunge bra that comes up small, but my breasts keep escaping out of the plunge. My other 28s are huge, started on the tightest hooks and now I can pull the strap quite far out!
I thought I'd found a company making 26s, but the bra I ordered has been "on the production line" for 4 months now with no sign of either a bra or a refund.
If any of you find a decent (non-plunge) 28GG/H, please PM meSmile.

jellyfl00d · 01/09/2013 08:15

Thanks for the link Smile

Joycey29 · 01/09/2013 08:27

Snap! Now bought several new bras by Pour Moi and Panache on EBay. Really great quality and service!
Question - what do I do with the 27 bra sets in the wrong size????? BlushBlush
