That outfit sounds lovely One. My kind of colours. You'll not be glad to hear that 'Doctor Sleep' the sequel to The Shining is due out next month! It is about Danny and his adulthood.

I dreamed that my son's Springer Spaniel chased my childhood Siamese cat and savaged it. Lovely. What that says about my psyche doesn't bear thinking about as at least one of those animals has dream-time travelling ability seeing as the Siamese died 30 years ago!

libertychick · 16/08/2013 14:15

Outfit sounds lovely one. Dreams like that are really unsettling aren't they?

Today I am v boring - working from home in navy Me&Em trousers - comfy as trackpants but look a lot better for popping out, answering the door etc. Purple Gap V-Neck T and new Asos boots and grey Whistles jersey blazer for trips out to Sainsbury's etc. Murano glass green/blue/gold pendant on gold chain for a little bit of sparkle - I feel undressed without a necklace on Smile

Was it Foxy asked what we would do with £1000 to spend in NAP? For me it would be Burberry Brit coat, Fiorentini and Baker boots and Acne grey scarf. With the £10 change I'd get dressed up in my new garb, go get a coffee somewhere nice and show off!!!

Annianni · 16/08/2013 14:16

Not sure if this will work...

My view...

OneLittleLady · 16/08/2013 14:19

I'm Envy ani

Thanks ladies, I honestly thought I looked a bit of a mess as I just couldn't face the wardrobe this morning with being so tired. I'm both scared and curious about this sequel mig I know I'll have to watch it, I just worry what it will do to my dreams after!

libertychick · 16/08/2013 14:20

Are you walking on the beach Anni or is that the view from your house? How lovely - making me homesick - reminds me of west of Ireland beaches. It's the one thing I really miss - I used to live by the coast and walked the beach every day - sigh.

mignonette · 16/08/2013 14:21

Liberty Good choices. I love the coat and it is actually a good price for an investment piece.
I will do my £1000 to spend later when i have time to browse.

Anni Lovely view but rub it in why don't you Grin that we working/hone stiffs have grey skies; well at least I do. That sky looks big...

I was looking at photos and blogs of Appalachia/New Mexico and New Orleans last night sigh...I want a house with a stoop, a screened porch, Spanish Moss hanging from the Live Oak trees, a jug of Ice Tea and Dolly Parton living next door. One day...

Annianni · 16/08/2013 14:21

One and Mig those dreams sound scary!

I'm wearing black metallic hav's, gap slim boyfriend jeans, white linen J Crew tee and a grey gap cardi.
Got an ancient Prada messenger bag with all their gubbins in.

It's glorious here, just a bit windy.

libertychick · 16/08/2013 14:22

I never watch horror films - hate feeling scared and way too sensitive, they really unsettle me. Very violent films freak me out too.

libertychick · 16/08/2013 14:24

Mig I am very seriously considering that coat. I'd have to buy nothing for a few months to justify it....but then I wouldn't need a winter coat for 10 years!!!

Annianni · 16/08/2013 14:25

I'm in the old lady capital of the North West... Cleveleys! :o

There's hardly anyone on the beach, it's lovely

mignonette · 16/08/2013 14:31

I read Stephen King but never watch horror films. I find King has real pathos which tempers any horror unfortunately film makers only focus upon the horror.

I think that coat is on balance a good buy. It will last and will look sharp for years. It is timeless.

Anni I have never ever been to the NW would you believe? DD loves Whitby and I have been to Filey but the NW? No. Looks glorious. I'd like to visit the coastal peninsula near the Lake District, whitehaven etc. My StepD lives in Leeds. I love Leeds.

OneLittleLady · 16/08/2013 14:38

Im not sure what i'd buy if i had £1000 to spend in NAP but whatever change was left, I'd do the same as liberty and spend my time at coffee shops showing off my stuff Grin

shopafrolic · 16/08/2013 15:02

Hey Voguette honeys...... I'm home! Grin
Made it in one piece and no ILs were harmed during our stay.
Lots to catch up on but congrats to DDTopaz excellent news!

Hi Shop Welcome back to here and you sound remarkably sane Grin..

I expected your first post back to be along the lines of

shopafrolic · 16/08/2013 15:21

Grin after a night out drinking WAY too much with DH and my BIL and his partner on Weds night, and then last night staying with some very lovely chilled friends I feel properly recovered Mig
It's been good, full on as expected and all not well in FIL world but I tried to limit my exposure and just enjoy the chance to be away. The weather was good, we've had nice pub lunches and a fab day in Blakeney. Nice to be home now though......

foxysocks · 16/08/2013 15:40

anni great choice! that was my first thought too - PS1 in cobalt

adore the burberry liberty and agree with mig, not a bad price at all.

glad you are home and happy shop

great views anni, your outfit sounds lovely

sorry work is sucky mig. i feel so sorry for NHS workers, it's such an amazing institution but the powers that be do not seem to look after the all important workforce. do not want to get into a politics rant so I shall stop there.

am in cobalt a wang tee, grey goldsigns and my yellow/zebra sandals today. first time ever without a pushchair for the nursery run! DD scooted there and back no problems. wonder what I can get for the bugaboo, might add it to my bag fund....

shopafrolic · 16/08/2013 15:42

I got loads for my Bugaboo Foxy they hold their value well. Particularly if you've got a local Facebook Parents Network page...... free to list it then - unlike EBay......

Shop I am glad it went well for you and you had yourself some fun. And well done for not getting entangled in a family counselling session.

Foxy Aaahhh. First walk/scoot to nursery. An era is coming to an end for you Sad and Smile. The outfit sounds cool.

Anni Foxy - I have a violet PS1. They are super gorgeous but I don't think it is worth the £££ they charge at full price. I got mine with a discount via a friend of a friend of my DH for Christmas.

OneLittleLady · 16/08/2013 16:03

Getting in early and already ordering Christmas presents today. I ordered some suede converse for DP from Brand Alley this morning and they've already been dispatched! I'm not use to this prompt service, I've obviously been shopping in the wrong places before now Grin

mignonette · 16/08/2013 16:08

Sounds lovely One. I have started my Christmas shopping as have 5 children to buy for in total and three of them have birthdays next week. Expensive. The Cath Kidston strawberry PJ bottoms arrived for StepD2 today but haven't opened them yet.

DH wants a Kindle Fire so that'll be straightforward plus I get him these copper and wood gardening tools from Austria each year. He needs a new pair of Oakley sunglasses but was wondering if you could just get a new frame/new lenses put in. Suppose not.

I am picking up my new geek glasses tomorrow so I will be able to read again something other than 14 point. They are midnight blue square frames. I want to get daily disposable lenses to trial too as wore GPs for 31 years then had a catastrophe...

OneLittleLady · 16/08/2013 16:18

Mig I have six brothers and sisters, my DS, Stepdad, DS's permenant foster family (no abuse/neglect within our family but DS has ASD and I have severe physical and mental health problems and couldn't look after him anymore Sad ), six nieces and nephews and DP's family to buy Christmas presents for plus birthdays almost every month of the year!! It's expensive but so worth seeing people's faces when I get it right!!

Drywhiteplease · 16/08/2013 16:24

Oh Shop so pleased you're ok.......a good pub is always therapeutic I find! Also I often thing things you dread aren't always as bad.

I dreamt about work last night.....almost as scary as The Shining One!!!!Grin

Foxy I have don't my NAP wish list, quite difficult. A toss up between " what I'd never buy myself but really love" guess what?...a dress I'd wear twice. Or sensible, investment pieces.
I have gone for the latter....actually the Burberry Brit coat was a contender, but I'm not allowed any more black apart from a dress here and there so;
this coat
and this bag which I've lusted after for ages
but then I saw these shoes which I luuuurrrvvvee

Ok....now don't judge me.....but I've had the loveliest day ever today and I just need to get it out because I'm so EXCITED ( sorry I know capitals are a MN no no).Grin
Today's plan was.....Get up at 6.30 Shock to get the early boat to Sark (saving £20).Cycle round to tiny island, go to a big pool called the Venus pool, then lunch at La Soblonnerie in little Sark. Apart from the bonkers start, all good. But it rained Sad so we scrapped it until next week.
What we actually did was an Occupation museum DS in his element,DD comatose,DH doing his usual reading everything then a boozy, tapas what else in Guernsey? lunch then just happened to walk past jewelers DD and I had been looking at together the other day.

DD goes " Mum these are the rings we were looking at!" love her
DH "which one do you like then?"
Me Shock" well I wouldn't say no to an eternity ring"Wink
Next thing were inside and I'm getting an eternity ringGrin!!!!! Not only that but the lady said I need to get my bangle valued! I know Im Shallow, and lucky, and it doesn't happen to me at predictable times DH hates valentines and thinks anniversary presents are predictable, preferring to spring surprises, he proposed in our bathroom! but there you are.

OneLittleLady · 16/08/2013 16:27

Lucky you dry I'd love a nice ring (no, not an engagement ring before anyone wonders Grin ) but I never see anything that really grabs me. I'm very fussy about what 'real' jewellery I will wear, don't like yellow gold and anything too big just looks naff to me

Drywhiteplease · 16/08/2013 16:28

P.s One and Mig and anyone else with loads of children to buy for. I have 7 nephews and nieces all with birthdays between Nov-Jan so that's a lot of pressies to buy. Last year for Christmas I got each of them a hoodie in their fav colour with their names put on the back from my local uniform shop...easy and v popular!

mignonette · 16/08/2013 16:32

Dry How lovely and not shallow because what happened today was a family event- how great that your DD remembered. Not, not shallow to be appreciated.

I like your NAP choices. They are investment but very very luxe.

One How hard that must have been for you. ASD has got to be the most misunderstood condition and I can imagine how tough that must have been and the toll it exerted upon you through no fault of you or your DS. I hope he is doing well. You did a very selfless thing, you know, admitting he needed fostering and then accepting help. Pride can get terribly in the way so good for you Flowers.

I will look at NAP later tonight when DH is at down the pub. I'm not very good in crowded pubs full of real ale drinkers, clutching my Diet coke!
