Bust measurements awaiting bra experts!

SnoopyLovesYou · 12/08/2013 14:05

Hello

As suggested on here, I have now measured myself and my measurement just under bust is 31 inches. My measurement at 90 degrees is 39 inches. This makes me sound like Pamela Anderson but much to my dismay, my breasts are NOT of the round and full variety, which is why I'm a little sceptical of online estimations but maybe if you take my shape into consideration, it might just work? Thanks!! :-D

I think you'd want to be trying sizes around the 30G mark. Try at least a size above and below and lots of different styles as you may suit some better than others.

StatisticallyChallenged · 12/08/2013 14:09

Based on the measurements, try a 30FF, 30G, 32FF and 32F. The 30s are more likely as most people prefer the lower band size when they are in between

SnoopyLovesYou · 12/08/2013 14:21

I always thought F&G cups were for full-breasted women!!

StatisticallyChallenged · 12/08/2013 14:22

Cup size is relative to back size - so on a 28 or 30 an F cup isn't huge at all.

SnoopyLovesYou · 12/08/2013 14:31

That's interesting. Can't wait to try some on! Have been wearing a 36B for 2 years as measured by M&S (was a different shape then too I think)

Can someone do mine please?...30 and 34

Currently wear a 32b

Thanks Grin

Pantone363 · 12/08/2013 14:40

Actually I've just checked and I have a 34A, 32B and a 32C Hmm

treaclesoda · 12/08/2013 14:43

Try a 30D as a starting point.

Pantone363 · 12/08/2013 14:46

No freaking way....30D???!!! I'm pretty much flat chested!

StatisticallyChallenged · 12/08/2013 14:49

A 30D is the same volume as a 30C and a 34B, but on a smaller band. It's not bazooka territory I promise!

RegainingUnconsciousness · 12/08/2013 14:59

Is there an original thread on this someone can point me to, please?

StatisticallyChallenged · 12/08/2013 15:02

HUndreds of them! but have a look at thebetterbracampaign.blogspot.co.uk - there is a "fitting advice" section

Piggychunk · 12/08/2013 15:35

Sorry to Hijack me please!!!

I'm 36 and 44

thanks xxx

RegainingUnconsciousness · 12/08/2013 15:36

Thanks Stat! I'll have a measure later on.

Piggychunk · 12/08/2013 15:37

TBH I was 35 so went up a band .. I am wearing 40D at the mo

treaclesoda · 12/08/2013 15:38

Try 36FF to start with Piggy

treaclesoda · 12/08/2013 15:39

or if your measurements are actually 35, then you might want to size down to 34, in which case go up in the cup, so maybe try a 34G as well.

Piggychunk · 12/08/2013 15:39

That's what I thought when I worked it out just seems way too big

Piggychunk · 12/08/2013 15:40

Thanks Treacle for being so helpful I have never worn a bar that feels right so hopefully I will now

treaclesoda · 12/08/2013 15:41

Realistically only about an inch bigger in the cup than what you're wearing at the moment though Smile. Its the letters isn't it? There is a mental block for a lot of people when you go beyond the letter D...

treaclesoda · 12/08/2013 15:44

I am not in the league of SorrelForbes or Statistically but I've always been passionate about the difference that a good bra can make. I'm around a 32G myself, so used to the bigger letters Wink, and have been since I was a teenager. Of course, at that age I thought I was the only person in the world who was so huge, and so freakish and its only now at the age of 37 that I realise that actually, loads of others were this size too, its just that they squeezed themselves into a 36C. And my size isn't freakish at all actually.

RegainingUnconsciousness · 12/08/2013 15:46

Well, I just measured 28.5 and about 33.

I'm currently wearing a 32B.

That blog puts me at... 28DD or 30C.

No way. I don't believe it for a second. (And to think I was wearing a 34B till DH had sports bra training)

Piggychunk · 12/08/2013 15:48

Your so luckily to have been wearing the right size all your life I think I was in a 34C for years until at least my 2nd child. Wish I knew all this years ago
