I want an Anne Hathaway crop

Am I mad?

I currently have a long bob with a fringe (picture on my profile, although have lost weight since that was taken and my face is a bit thinner now). I really fancy having it shorter, something like Anne Hathaway's longer crop. Do you think it will suit me?

DH likes the idea. DC are horrified, but they always are when I change my hair. They'll get used to it.

The DC have an appointment at the hairdresser's tomorrow with the stylist who also does my hair, I'm going to have a chat with her about it.

Well, I did it!

I asked the hairdresser while she was cutting the boys' hair what she thought and she was really enthusiastic about the idea. She had a few suggestions as to what would suit me. She had a cancellation at lunchtime so suggested that if I wanted to strike while the iron was hot (before I changed my mind again!) she could do it today.

I love it. New picture on my profile. It is very short at the back, but still quite long on top. The hairdresser reckons I will never go back to how it was before.

I vary my hair between the cut you have, one slightly shorter, and the slightly longer one posted not that long ago, with it to the side. I tend to have it that way when I am wanting to grow it, get that far, then have it cut short again. I am wearing mine slightly shorter than yours right now, but only because the hairdresser messed it up and I had to get her boss to fix it

I'm late to the thread but I've just looked at the two pictures and the crop is younger definitely. It does make your face look slimmer yes. !

and here was me thinking 'eh... its already short and lovely' then I realised. looking at how it was then you did the right thing, its lovely on you and you look years younger and trendier than the bob.

Yes I was very confused there - reading the thread thinking "but that's what your hair is like in the photo where you're wearing sunglasses"!!
It looks great - I love short hair and haven't had mine long since I was about 10.
I've nicked one of the pictures shopafrolic pinned for my next hairdresser visit in a few weeks.
Given the colour of your hair, can I recommend Aveda Clove shampoo and conditioner. It doesn't colour your hair but it does enhance brown hair and, after a week or so of using, has made my hair a lovely shiny brown (it's normally a bit mousy)
