So I just measured by bra size and I'm shocked, is it right?

I measured under and I'm 34. Well I'm 33.5. That is taut, completely flat to skin.

When I do the lean over measurement (which made dh smirk) I measured 41inches.

Am I right thinking that makes me 34E?

I have teeny (saggy and deflated) bosoms!

Yes, we have a big Debenhams so i'll try there, thanks.

SorrelForbes · 25/08/2013 09:26

Try a FF too

holycowwhatnow · 25/08/2013 10:47

Thanks Sorrel, I will. I nearly fell out of my standing when I filled an F cup nicely, couldn't believe it.

Hello ladies. I haven't read all the thread yet, but do have a few questions. I was intervened about a year ago now, and have gone from a 38D to currently wearing a CK Thrill Me in 32HH!

BUT. I am still having a few niggles. First of all, I do like Cleo - and have a couple of the Juna, which I like, but not matter what I wear (also have the Meg and Darcy), I always get digging in under my right arm - which is my smaller side. The wire always digs in, no matter what I do - but NEVER on the left side. Is there anything I can do about this? I sometimes find that the wire sort of 'drops' in the material ifswim.

Also, I love the CK Showgirl range, and they do suit my shallow boobs, but they are SO hard to find! I can onyl find them in my size on Amazon. Even then they are not perfect, as the frills at thre top often show through tops.

Any advice??!

If you are a showgirl lover, have you tried either the Bravissimo branded half cups, or Tuti Rouge. Both will possibly suit you. You probably already know this but Fleurty, Entice and a new one coming out, ritz, look to be showgirl cuts. Have you tried the Smoothie or Daily boost - both CK? There is also the new Cleo Maddie which is smooth

In terms of the wire issue, I suspect it's because the wire isn't sitting in the right place on your smaller side due to the asymmetry. Have you read the blog post about asymmetry at all? If those tips haven't worked, how big is your size difference? I wonder if for comfort it might be worth consider some sort of filler on the smaller side which might reposition the wire?

CatharinaZ · 26/08/2013 13:37

Go on then somebody please, I'm intrigued Grin

I measured 38 / 50 so what size does that make me?

Thank you!

goodasitgets · 26/08/2013 14:08

Try a 38HH, 38J Smile

StatisticallyChallenged · 26/08/2013 15:28

You might also need to try a smaller back - its very common for ladies above about a 36 to need a band size smaller than they measure. In which case you will want to try bigger cups

CatharinaZ · 26/08/2013 17:26

Ok thank you, bra shopping here I come! I'm in a 36 ff and 36 g at the moment but spilling over the tops Blush

StatisticallyChallenged · 26/08/2013 17:33

If you currently have 36s, can you pop then on back to front to test how tight the band is? If the band is ok, then you will probably want to try a J/JJ/K to start with on a 36

Cantdothisagain · 26/08/2013 20:01

I love these threads! I am currently wearing a 28F though I measure 26F. The cup is too big at the top but if I go down a cup size I get bulge at the sides. The cup also feels baggy everywhere except the sides. What styles would suit me? I do know I should be a 26, but the 28 on the tightest setting seems ok. It's more about styles that accommodate fuller at side breasts! Thank you experts!

StatisticallyChallenged · 26/08/2013 20:25

Would you say you have quite wide, shallow breasts? In that case - the curvy kate showgirls (tempt me/tease me/thrill me/fleurty/entice, Bravissimo half cups, tutti rouge and sometimes the Cleo Juna. Freya are also quite good for wide based boobs but some people find they make them a bit east and west

CatharinaZ · 26/08/2013 20:42

The band is ok now but it was bit of a squeeze when it was new! > Shock

Cantdothisagain · 26/08/2013 21:05

I don't know how to describe the shape- floppy!!! But the best fit I found was cleo, I think it might be a meg, I don't know. The bravissimo ones felt bigger round the back. Didn't see any curvy Kate- do Bravissimo stock them? Thanks for your suggestions; will check them out.

DorisIsWaiting · 26/08/2013 21:05

Just popped in to say had an afternoon bra shopping today as I've been losing weight (measured around 33 and the cup size was roughly a G/GG depending 32/34 measurement).

After 2 hours (!) I ended up in a debenhams 32H (I know they come small in the cup but it does give a good shape as I have v wide breasts that stat in the middle of my armpit!)

Debenhams had a fab range of d-G and then more D-J cup and surprise lots of them were actually on the shelf. (I went in HOF too and there wasn't nearly as much choice there.)

So well done debenhams Plymouth.

Silverstar2 · 26/08/2013 21:24

Thanks SC will have a look at the Bravissimo and Tuti rouge.

SorrelForbes · 26/08/2013 22:03

Debenhams Plymouth has a much better range if sizes than HoF but they still don't stock enough 28 and 30 bands in F and above.

DorisIsWaiting · 27/08/2013 08:34

Fair point Sorrel (this was the first time I was looking at 32!)

SorrelForbes · 27/08/2013 10:00

Oh I sounded a bit disparaging, sorry Blush. Debenhams is pretty good in Plymouth but it annoys me that try only stock Freya and Fantasie. No Cleo, Curvy Kate or a panache like other branches.

I'm 37 and 51 and wearing a 36K fitted in Bravissimo. If you have the right size then wired should fit you better. There is a manufacturer praised on here that does custom sizes but I can't remember the name at the moment, someone will come along and say it in a minute I'm sure

Bravissimo are good. Maybe it is worth telling them of your past experience and ask for someone with lots of experience as you are wary of ending up in pain again. The sizes from this way of measurement is only a guide to know where to start, especially with larger sizes. It will take trial and error of different sizes, styles and brands to get the right bra and will be something you need to do every time you get a new bra as you can't guarantee that you are that size in all bras.

I am breastfeeding so wearing a nursing bra but got them to fit me in an underwired at the same time so that I know what it should feel like when the time comes and I ended up in a 36H in that!
