A well fitting, smart/sexy and preferably push-up bra size 38A... impossible???

I am sooo fed up with trying to find a well fitting bra, preferably nice looking and adding a bit of "volume" in my size...
I'm starting to feel like a freak!
Am i really the only person in the world with really small breasts and a slightly larger ribcage?
Every bra I find is either too tight around my chest or has gaping cups. I need a wired one as any others leave me looking completely flat-chested.
Any suggestions of shops or online retailers would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you statisticallychallenged for your great advice! I will report back to this thread when I get round to buying a new bra

Hi Statistically

Apologies for not replying earlier. Well, I went off to our local department store who do have an excellent reputation for bra fitting. I, however, have never availed of their services. The kind lady fitted me in a 30E just as you suggested!

Oh my - the joy of a well fitting bra. I'm checking out my chest in the mirror at every opportunity. Grin

I feel amazing and my clothes look so much better. Really delighted and want to thank you so very much Flowers

You are so kind to give such invaluable advice to strangers. It's very much appreciated.

Aww thank you! I'm so glad you got it sorted. It's amazing how much of a difference even a relatively small change in size can make isn't it?

NotHoldenCaulfield · 08/08/2014 21:33

Yes definitely - everything is just a bit more...perkyGrin

FloozeyLoozey · 08/08/2014 22:01

Please could someone tell me what size I should be? Lost some weight recently and wearing 38 DD which is too big. I measure 35 under and 43 over. Thanks!

StatisticallyChallenged · 08/08/2014 22:10

start with 34g, 34FF, 36FF and 36F. The 34s are more likely

I suspect your 38DD isn't really too big in the cup but is gaping because the band isn't holding the cups up

FloozeyLoozey · 09/08/2014 12:09

That's great thank you statistically. You're right about the band on the 38 gaping at the cups.

Panache bras do tend to come up quite high under the arm. However it could be worth you trying the Panache Idina balconette as it does give a good shape. I find that Freya/Fantasie bras tend to give you an east/west appearance!

Have you tried the Freya Patsy or any of the Bravissimo half-cups?

If you like the Idina shape (was it the balconette as opposed to the plunge?) then you may like the Cleo Marcie, Minnie, Lily et al (pretty much my favourite bras!)

HazleNutt · 09/08/2014 19:26

If Freya fits you then try other Freya, Fantasie and Fauve bras. I have the same problem with Panache, comes up too high and wires start rubbing.

Heathcliff27 · 11/08/2014 19:53

I finally measured myself, currently wearing either 34 or 36A but spilling out. Dont have too much back boobage so not much happens if I try scooping. Am measuring 34 under and 38/39 bending. Am I right in thinking I should try a 34D?

StatisticallyChallenged · 11/08/2014 20:46

Yup, 34D and DD to start with.

Heathcliff27 · 11/08/2014 20:51

Thank you, will have a shopping trip tomorrow Thanks

ihearttc · 11/08/2014 21:23

Could someone please work mine out?

Ive put on some weight due to medication that I have to take and non of my clothes fit me let alone my bra's!!

Ive had to measure in cm as can't find my tape measure with inches on it but have converted it into inches.

Its 32 under and 38 round.

Im currently wearing a very stretched 34c bra.

StatisticallyChallenged · 11/08/2014 21:37

Start with a 32E

Andallmyhopeisgone · 11/08/2014 22:50

Does anywhere sell bras under 32 that aren't expensive? Everywhere seems to start at 32 band.

StatisticallyChallenged · 11/08/2014 22:52

Best bet is to work out what you need then buy online. Mycurvesandme, Debenhams sale, Leia lingerie outlet section, figleaves sale, brastop, amazon are all sources of amazing bargains. I got a Cleo bra for £7 the other day

ihearttc · 11/08/2014 23:00

Wow really?

That would probably explain why non of my bra's are comfy!!

Fantastic thank you so much...am looking forward to going shopping now.

Andallmyhopeisgone · 11/08/2014 23:12

Thanks Statistically, I'll look online.

trufflesnout · 12/08/2014 00:21

So I tried some 28D's and the cups just swamp me - but the 28D model on that bra database looks quite similar to me. Is it just a matter of shopping around seeing what works and what doesn't?

trufflesnout · 12/08/2014 00:22
StatisticallyChallenged · 12/08/2014 07:16

Did you scoop with the bra on? And which bra was it?where is it gaping?

rednellie · 12/08/2014 09:14

Hello! Can I have a go? I'm 30 under and 40.5 when I hang down...
