I am sooo fed up with trying to find a well fitting bra, preferably nice looking and adding a bit of "volume" in my size...
I'm starting to feel like a freak!
Am i really the only person in the world with really small breasts and a slightly larger ribcage?
Every bra I find is either too tight around my chest or has gaping cups. I need a wired one as any others leave me looking completely flat-chested.
Any suggestions of shops or online retailers would be greatly appreciated!

Are you sure he held the tape tightly for the under bust measurement? If so, and you're wearing 36/38 bands then you sound like someone who can wear a smaller band than they measure. if you put a 36 on back to front, how does it feel? How far can you stretch it from your body?

justadreameruk · 26/04/2014 23:02

G??? I can't honestly imagine that, am now querying my OHs measurements, my boobs are nowhere near that big in the cup surely otherwise I'd be absolutely bursting out of my B cups which I'm not. Hope that doesn't sound like I don't believe you or am being shitty, just am in absolute shock. The underbust was tight, can't wear 36 any more but 38 seems comfortable enough but could believe 40 being more appropriate. Going to redo the bigger measurement, I can't get my head round it. Xx

justadreameruk · 26/04/2014 23:05

Tighter measurement round boobs is 47, does that mean E cup? Xx

Pinkandpurplehairedlady · 26/04/2014 23:05

Could I ask for some help please? I'm currently wearing a 32A but it definitely doesn't fit - there's lots of gaping going on:( I've measured myself and under bust is 28 and round boobs is 32.

Heathergx · 26/04/2014 23:06

Hiya my first measement was 35 second 44 inches could you help me please I haven't a clue what size to get n mine are starting to feel uncomfortable being 21 weeks pregnant! Many thanks!xx

SorrelForbes · 26/04/2014 23:14

justadreameruk a 36/38 might feel too tight because you're wearing too small a cup. What's your tight under bust measurement?

SorrelForbes · 26/04/2014 23:15

Pinkandpurplehairedlady try a 28D

SorrelForbes · 26/04/2014 23:16

Heathergx I'd try a 36FF but be prepared to go bigger on the cup.

Pinkandpurplehairedlady · 26/04/2014 23:17

Thank you!

justadreameruk · 26/04/2014 23:19

40, started at 42 but made OH tighten it as I refused to go up that far. I'd say the most accurate measurements are 40/47. Xx

SorrelForbes · 26/04/2014 23:25

justadreameruk you are obviously someone who can wear a smaller band than you measure. Was The under bust measurement 'break the tape' tight?

Did you try the 36 on back to front? There's no point me suggesting bras with a 40 band if you can get into a 36!

justadreameruk · 26/04/2014 23:36

Sorry, I think I've confused things with how I've worded my posts. I can't fit 36 any more, 38 seems ok but 40 may be more comfortable as my 38s are quite worn and stretchy and often on the last hook. Only thing I'm unsure of is cup size. Am happy to go grab a few sizes at the shops tomorrow and see what works.

Heathergx · 26/04/2014 23:37

Really?? A FF?? Where would be the best place to buy a bra that size? Iv been wearing 38d and the moment would never imagine id be a FF lol!xxx

SorrelForbes · 26/04/2014 23:39

New bras should always be on the last hook. Please, put your 36 on back to front and see if you can do it up. If you can and it's tight but comfortable then you don't need a bigger band. Most people who measure 40+ need a smaller band.

SorrelForbes · 26/04/2014 23:41

Remember that an FF in a 36 is not the same as an FF in a 38. Try Bravissimo, JL, Debenhams and HoF.

SorrelForbes · 26/04/2014 23:42

Sorry, to be clear, bras should be on the loosest hook.

Heathergx · 27/04/2014 00:18

Ok Hun iv ordered one so will let you know how get on :) xx

Heathergx · 27/04/2014 00:20

My friend measures 32 and 35.5 what size would be best for her?xxx

DillieDoily · 27/04/2014 00:40

I'd really appreciate some help with a bra sizing please. I measure 39 under and 49 bending over- but my boobs are horrible, long, thin, saggy things (maybe need to try this scooping!). I'm also 9 weeks pregnant (no idea if this matters!)

SorrelForbes · 27/04/2014 08:56

Heathergx tell her to try a 32D.

DillieDoily try 38GG/H and 40G/GG. However, you also may need a smaller back than you measure but of course your rib cage will expand during pregnancy! Tricky to predict. How do your current bras feel/fit?

DillieDoily · 27/04/2014 09:30

Thanks! I am currently wearing a 38dd but really cannot find a good one- the band always digs in and the underwires seem to poke into my underarms very viciously- constantly have sore red marks.
My favourite bras for years were fantasie allure moulded ones which were comfy and gave me great shape but they're discontinued now.

SorrelForbes · 27/04/2014 09:45

DillieDoily If you scoop when wearing your 38DD do you have a lot of overspill? If you put it on back to front, how far can you pull it away from your body?

DillieDoily · 27/04/2014 12:55

Good god just scooped for the first time ever and my boobs are totally different! Falling out of the cups. Total overspill! When I put my bra on backwards (on tightest setting, which I never usually do) I can pull it out about 3 inches?

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 27/04/2014 14:06

Right, have ordered a raspberry Panache Tango plunge bra in 32H! Ebay, £12.89 inc p&p. Also matching pants, which I now realise I've ordered in a size 10, which probably won't work at 6 months pg. Oh well, I'll keep them until I've had the baby and wear them then.

starynight · 28/04/2014 13:36

Could I have some help finding the correct sizing please. If I've done it correctly (leaning over to a 90 degree angle?) I'm 36.5 inch under bust and 43 inch over... Thankyou
