A well fitting, smart/sexy and preferably push-up bra size 38A... impossible???

I am sooo fed up with trying to find a well fitting bra, preferably nice looking and adding a bit of "volume" in my size...
I'm starting to feel like a freak!
Am i really the only person in the world with really small breasts and a slightly larger ribcage?
Every bra I find is either too tight around my chest or has gaping cups. I need a wired one as any others leave me looking completely flat-chested.
Any suggestions of shops or online retailers would be greatly appreciated!

How have I missed this thread until now??

Dolally I would start with 40G or FF but I'mof practice! You may need to go down a back size to get a firm band, if your do don't forget to go Iowa in the cup. What size are you wearing?

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/11/2013 10:25

Ok, so 41.5 under with 48.5 over. First thing you need to sort is the band size. I would suggest that you start with a 40. Reason for this is that if you have a slightly squishy torso then you often need a smaller band than you measure in order to get adequate support. You might even need to go to a 38. There is guidance on the blog explaining how to test if the band fits but basically you do it back to front so the cups don't get in tge the way. Now, cups. Again trial and error but I would start with a 40ff and g and work from there.

Lurked till now. I've been wearing 36DD (thanks to M&S) and knew that it just wasn't right. Went into John Lewis last week to get fitted and I'm now the proud owner of three 32F Fantasie bras. I feel gripped and supported for the first time in ages, I'm never going to M&S for bras again!

SorrelForbes · 28/11/2013 11:39

Good morning bra ladies Grin

Bue · 28/11/2013 11:45

Since being reformed a couple of years ago (went from 34B to 30D, and there is really only a handful of boob there) I wonder why they actually make A cup size bras. Because I guarantee no flesh and blood woman is actually an A cup!!!

TessTackle · 28/11/2013 11:51

I can't wait to do this!!

TessTackle · 28/11/2013 12:51

35.5 and 42 can someone help??

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/11/2013 13:01

Tess try a 34ff, 34f. 36f and 36e

TessTackle · 28/11/2013 13:05

Blush Gobsmacked! Will try and get to a shop tomorrow, any suggestions? Thank you!

CelticPromise · 28/11/2013 13:25

Have you got a Debenhams nearby? They are prob your best bet. Or maybe John Lewis. Most of the high street is a washout I'm afraid.

TessTackle · 28/11/2013 13:35

Debanhams it is!

HazleNutt · 28/11/2013 14:22

I still don't get what is wrong with M&S. Why don't they listen to us? There are so, so many women just here who have stated that they have been wrongly fitted, but whenever someone tries to tell M&S that, the reply is that don't be silly, we know best.

Dolallytats · 28/11/2013 15:00

Thanks Celticpromise and statisticallychallenged, am looking online at new bras now!!

Whereisegg · 28/11/2013 16:34

so everyone saying Debenhams for bras...should I be looking at their own brand ones or those floozy ones?

TomskiGirl · 28/11/2013 17:28

I had to go and experience the M&S bras myself today and they were horrible (compared to the Sainsbury ones I tried yesterday). I have ordered a bra online from Bra Stop to start with.
It's a trek for me to get to a Debenhams or John Lewis and I'm keen to start my awesome new bra collection!!! Which are the best online shops to buy from, including good delivery and returns as well as good bras?
I'm still gobsmacked I've spent my whole adult life feeling inadequate! Told my "flat chested" friend about this and she's getting the tape measure out tonight Wink

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/11/2013 18:07

Whereisegg is depends on the size you need but debenhams v stock lots of good d plus brands like Freya and fantasie. They have their own brand called gorgeous which is also ok but runs tight in the band. They also sell brands like wonderbra-I'm sized out now but their d-g t shirt bra is brilliant and I still wear the wonderbra ultimate strapless-sizing is wonky on it.

Whereisegg · 28/11/2013 18:50

thankyou Smile

Dolallytats · 28/11/2013 19:04

Celtic I have been wearing a 38B, but the cup is molded (S?) and there are large gaps at top and upper sides-thought that meant I would have to go down to an A cup!!

blondiep14 · 28/11/2013 19:26

Remembered this thread from a while back, DD is fully off the boob and I'm probably not going to get very mug slimmer anytime soon!

I have just measured 33cm under boobs, 38 on boob. No pressure on boob at all tho, is that right?

Currently wearing a balcony style from Next in 36A - it's not very comfy!! ShockGrin

Help please?!

blondiep14 · 28/11/2013 19:29

Should add, boobs round and tiny!

SorrelForbes · 28/11/2013 20:41

Dolallytats Moulded bras are tricky things and just don't work for many people. They don't fit to your shape, hence the gaping.

SorrelForbes · 28/11/2013 20:42

blondiep14 Try a 32E/DD and a 34D/DD. I suspect the 32 will be the best fit.

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/11/2013 20:42

Blondie start with a 32E, 32DD, 34DD and 34D. The 32 is more likely

blondiep14 · 28/11/2013 21:01

Seriously?? ShockShock
I was brace and ordered a few B cups thinking perhaps an A was wrong, they were gaping and didn't fit at all!!

What sort if style is best for flat, round boobs?!

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/11/2013 21:09

The B will be gaping because the back size is much too big, and scooping won't work as everything will just slide back out the side!

When you say flat, round boobs - can you explain!
