Louboutins

Ladies, I've got a once in a lifetime opportunity to treat myself to a pair of Louboutins. Under normal circumstances I would never consider spending so much on a pair of shoes.

For those of you that have bought a pair, what are your opinions? Were they really really worth it? Are they comfy etc????

I have a pair of patent Pigalles. They are gorgeous but just as uncomfortable as any el cheapo pair or 4 inch heels.

I have had red rubber soles put on mine as the leather wears away very quickly!

AmberNectarine · 30/05/2013 18:54

Of*

KevinFoley · 30/05/2013 18:58

The red leather rubs off, very disappointing. I'd never spend hundreds on shoes.

MrsDelaBilliere · 30/05/2013 18:59

Do they include replacement soles in the box?

I recall but it's a few years ago now, something about them doing this?

I'd also seen some shoes at All Saints that I quite liked and of course I could get 3 pairs of those for less than the price of a pair of Loubs.

If I do buy a pair of Loubs, I was going to buy a pair of Bianca's.

I second amber. I have the same pair. They kill Sad had to go up half a size too.

No replacement soles but replacement heels.

MrsCampbellBlack · 30/05/2013 19:12

I've got a different pair and they are soooo uncomfortable. Good job I got them at a bargain price from the outnet.

They are not shoes for walking or standing in - which I realise is a little bit of a design flaw Wink

andadietcoke · 30/05/2013 19:12

I have patent Pigalles too - popular choice. Replacement heels but not soles. I find mine uncomfortable - have barely worn them. I should have got the Simples - I tried both on, but it was the Rue St Honore store on my 30th birthday and they only had them in blue and I felt like I had to come away with something practical hence black not blue.

Pagwatch · 30/05/2013 19:13

The sizings are small. Make sure you try them on and go bigger than normal size.
No you don't get replacement soles.
Mine are lovely though. I remain very happy with them.

TiggerWearsATriteSmile · 30/05/2013 19:13

Too many wannabes wearing them.
They are tacky.

MrsDelaBilliere · 30/05/2013 19:15

Thank you ladies. Interesting what you say about the 1/2 size. Did you buy them online? I'm just wondering what they are like for returns? I live in rural Wiltshire so sadly don't have the option of just popping into a store.

AmberNectarine · 30/05/2013 19:17

Oh yeah, I do love mine. Wore them on Saturday night and was fine, but it was an evening of mostly sitting with a short walk there and back! They are not dancing shoes.

AmberNectarine · 30/05/2013 19:18

I think mine are a 39 - my usual size. I'd also add, I got the 100s, I'd like to get a pair of 85s.

MrsCampbellBlack · 30/05/2013 19:18

They are limo shoes I think Amber - we just need the limo to go with the shoes!

Barbie1 · 30/05/2013 19:24

I prefer the concealed heel.

A few years back aldo did the copy of the bianca, red sole and all. Might be worth a look at?

MrsDelaBilliere · 30/05/2013 19:27

Well...... I'll be honest I did originally set out to buy the All Saints ones, was going to get a pair of taupe and black. I've never bought from them though before either.

OP posts:
Pinkflipflop · 30/05/2013 19:31

Can I ask why it is a once in a lifetime opportunity?

I prefer the All Saints ones.

I think £500 odd is crazy for shoes unless you can easily afford them!

Goal · 30/05/2013 19:34

CLs are overdone and a bit chavvy now IMO. Manolos on the other hand are gorgeous. That's what I would get

MrsDelaBilliere · 30/05/2013 19:35

Right I think I'm going to order the All Saints one's. Sadly out of both black ones in my size at the moment. So I'll go with the Taupe and see what they are like.

Once in a lifetime opportunity because I can probably count on one hand where I could say yes what the hell let's spend that amount on a pair of shoes.

AmberNectarine · 30/05/2013 19:38

You mean you don't have a limo MrsCB?

MrsDelaBilliere · 30/05/2013 19:45

Ordered the All Saints shoes. Thank you so much ladies for your help.

BrandyAlexander · 30/05/2013 20:15

Good choice! Let us know what they're like. I have the Pigalles 85 in patent too. Sooo uncomfortable. I spent what felt like 24 hours in them on a trip to Madrid a couple of months ago. I still wince at the pain. They are definitely limo shoes!

MrsCampbellBlack · 30/05/2013 20:24

Looks at S max covered in crumbs - umm yeah, course I've got a limo Wink

The all saints shoes look lovely. I also think these ones look lovely and cheaper!

I do wonder how Mr L must feel about how the TOWIE lot have changed his brand.

MrsDelaBilliere · 30/05/2013 20:35

I've also wanted a pair of Jimmy Choo Cosmic heels, but went off the idea when there was the article in one of the Daily's about them requiring new soles before you could wear them outside.
