Louboutins

MrsDelaBilliere · 30/05/2013 18:43

Ladies, I've got a once in a lifetime opportunity to treat myself to a pair of Louboutins. Under normal circumstances I would never consider spending so much on a pair of shoes.

For those of you that have bought a pair, what are your opinions? Were they really really worth it? Are they comfy etc????

The piagelles are lovely. Those of you saying they are painful, do you normally wear heels? Just being nosey - I love heels but live in fit flops and converse!

AmberNectarine · 30/05/2013 20:43

me too MrsCB

hermione I do wear heels at work a couple of times a week but I'd say 90% of my time is spent in flats be they pointy, slipper-style or trainers.

santamarianovella · 30/05/2013 20:44

i have the prive and they are extremely uncomfortable, and my toes are always sticking out!and i have another pair of louboutin a wedge, and surprisingly they are very comfortable.

mrsCB the TOWIE ruined a lot of pretty things ,i cant look at a herve leger dress anymore and not think trashy !trashy! trashy !

monkeyfacegrace · 30/05/2013 20:50

Ive got a few Loubis, and I find mine uber comfy, they have cushioned soles unlike cheaper brands.
Im a 39, but take a 40 in Loubs.
Dont rate Manolo Im afraid, nor Jimmy Choo (though I have Choo Uggs which are ace). I find they are better for ladies aged 40+ (Im only 26 and prefer chunkier platform styles).

Check out The Outnet, its Netaporters last season stock. I got some Loubs for £895 down from 2k so good savings to be had.

mamageekchic · 30/05/2013 20:53

I wear simple pump 100s all day every day at work and find them really comfy :) I love my loubies!

mamageekchic · 30/05/2013 20:54

They are a 39, my usual size.

MrsCampbellBlack · 30/05/2013 20:54

I wear heels all the time.

Santa - Oh I know, everytime I see Herve on the outnet, I think of the towie lot.

MrsCampbellBlack · 30/05/2013 20:55

Must say I've totally gone off platforms. But I am an older lady Wink

Karbea · 30/05/2013 20:56

I've 3 pairs you you, piou, piou both 85mm and comfy, the 3rd pair are these I wore them all day on my wedding day, now I can only wear them for about 30mins and they kill!

I think all platforms look pretty chavvy now.

santamarianovella · 30/05/2013 20:59

hermione i wear heels a lot and i rate louboutins and choo the worst, they are not durable at all plus the lack of comfort factor.
sergio rossi and zanotti are excellent ,so is charlotte olympia, and there are several on the outnet at the moment.

Goal · 30/05/2013 21:00

The platform soles are what made them become trashy IMO. They are now just a much more expensive version of stripper heels and the high st is awash with copies. It's a shame because there are still a few nice pieces in each collection but overall rather TOWIE. Some of his lower heels are nice like these

MrsCampbellBlack · 30/05/2013 21:04

Yes, those vile ones that VB wore to the wedding of Prince William, well they were awful.

Not keen on platform at all. But there are still some nice Louboutin ones out there.

I do find them quite small, only have some for the wedding day and that's it.

I quite like Marant and Kors for something different.

MrsCampbellBlack · 30/05/2013 21:08

I live in Wiltshire too. But not deepest darkest bit.

Mendi · 30/05/2013 21:11

Ex- Boyfriend insisted on buying me a pair last birthday, I didn't want to have something so expensive without visiting lots of shops and trying on lots of shoes properly researching it but he insisted.

So I chose a pair of black courts. They turned out to be even less comfortable than a pair of £10 Primark and consequently I've worn them twice in a year, one time for less than 5 mins.

£375 wasted.

santamarianovella · 30/05/2013 21:16

Yes,those VB platforms are truly tacky
marsha I agree,There are some nice ones, I love the pigalle flats they look very classy, and I think none of the TOWIE cast owns a pair.

spanky2 · 30/05/2013 21:19

I would need to have someone placing carpet squares on the ground as I walked because those shoes are too expensive to go on the mucky floor .Grin

andadietcoke · 30/05/2013 21:23

hermioneweasley they are lovely shoes, but ooooh, the pain. My little toe pokes out a bit at the side sometimes which detracts from the loveliness a fair bit.

To answer your question though, nope, not a habitual heel wearer at all - ballet flats, uggs, converse, birkies and flipflops cover every eventuality. I really really want to persevere with them but haven't been able to yet!

CHOOGIRL · 30/05/2013 21:31

I have Simple Pump 70 which I wear every day to work and they are really comfortable. Current pair have been going for about a year.
New Simple Pump 100 which I can wear on an evening out with no problem

Sizing is random I am 39.5 and have Pumps ranging from 38 - 40 CL.

MrsDelaBilliere · 30/05/2013 21:45

Ah I didn't see the simple pump 120. Quite like those.

Oo, the simple pumps are lovely. Just window shopping because I refuse to do foot pain so it's flats (or limos) for me!

CHOOGIRL · 30/05/2013 22:20

Ladies who experience pain with shoes..a little tip. I spray with a leather stretch spray and then wear around the house with socks for about 20 minutes. Then store with shoe trees (or ski socks if you don't have shoe trees). This helps the leather give a bit so when I'm ready to wear them they are absolutely fine.

AmberNectarine · 30/05/2013 23:03

CHOO I never knew they did 70s - that sounds right up my street!
