What sort of t-shirts do you wear if you are just wearing, 'Jeans and a t-shirt' as a chuck it on and forget about it look? Am I too old for band t-shirts/printed t-shirts? I'm v bored of black and grey, which is pretty much all I have tbh. They are 'naice' black and grey ones, but still...

Help me out please, oh comfortable but stylish ones.

Ooh, good question. I recently had a t shirt crisis of confidence after chucking out some very old plain ones that had seen better days. I am now wearing an All Saints one (bought from the men's section with a snarling tiger on it), which I generally smarten up with a very sharply tailored black suit jacket. I also bought a Breton striped one from gap, and I never ever go to gap, but I specifically wanted one like this and sort of knew they would have one.

They are both very different looks but I really like the way I can chuck them on with jeans and dress them up and down according to what I'm doing.
I don't think you're ever too old for a band t shirt really, it's more about how you wear it probably.

dexter73 · 29/05/2013 20:53

Do you have a JLS t-shirt?

southeastastra · 29/05/2013 21:01

tend to buy them from zara, they have a zillion to pick from, also american apparel

tend to not wear shirts with ramones or anything like that on as i think i would look like a pratt, even though i like the ramones Grin

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/05/2013 22:15

JLS? Shoots self...

I do wear striped ones, mostly black and white or grey and white. But if I put a blazer on top I feel like a cliche, even though I love the look on others. I feel like a mime artist.

I like All Saints ones, but at 43 I wonder if I'm too old?

Love this too!

This

Mostly I wear this sort of thing or this sort of thing

I tend to go for surferey t-shirts with jeans. Quite like Fatface. But really I do long-sleeved ones or vest tops. Not short-sleeved. Have got several lovely thermal type vests and long tees from Brora in the sale. Very comfy and easy to wear.

Wiggy29 · 29/05/2013 22:21

I just got a couple from J Crew in the sale after they were recommended on here, work out cheap with sale plus 25% off code.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/05/2013 22:23

FF not my style, but thank you. Will check out Brora though. Really need 'real' shops, as norkage issues mean I can be anything from an 8 to a 14.

Just bought gorgeous ones from karen walker for uniqlo they have little frill around bottom
And nice loose fit, look great with skinny jeans on my post birth body

dexter73 · 30/05/2013 11:13

The tits one is really awful but I like the All Saints vest.

Snowgirl1 · 30/05/2013 14:28

I think the All Saints vest is nice. At the mo, I'm wearing coloured linen t-shirts from Zara like this. I think the linen material

Zara has some printed tshirts that might be a bit edgier than plain ones, like this or this or www.zara.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product/uk/en/zara-neu-S2013/358008/1121123/BLUE+PRINTED+T-SHIRT

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/05/2013 16:01

The tits one really appeals to me - I am clearly warped! I won't buy it though, as a) it's silly, b) white looks hideous on me and c) anything that draws attention to my 'tits' is never going to be a good thing.

The Zara ones are nice but all too low necked for me and would need a cami under.

dexter73 · 30/05/2013 16:20

The tits one just reminds me of those 'Liquer in the front, poker in the rear' and 'my boyfriend likes my pussy' type t-shirts which I don't like. Maybe I am just an old fuddy!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/05/2013 16:28

I'm such a fuddy duddy, I don't even understand the first one!

dexter73 · 30/05/2013 17:10

Lick her in the front, poke her in the rear (bumsex)!!

dexter73 · 30/05/2013 17:12

It was an FCUK t-shirt with a picture of a saloon bar on it with that saying on it, just to put it in context!!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/05/2013 17:16

Ugh!!! The tits one is v stylish and witty in comparison. :)

Ted baker has higher necked printed tshirts here and here and here, although I like the All Saints one more than all of them to be honest

Snowgirl1 · 30/05/2013 20:16

Oh yeah, and there's 20% off Ted Baker on-line today (I know you said real shops, but you could order on-line and take back to store if you didn't like?)

Striped t-shirts are great though, aren't they? A summery one.

That tits one is erm, a bit tacky. I like this but maybe not a colour you would wear if you tend to wear darker colours. Keeping to the bird theme Grin. This is prettier, but again, too bright for you? Btw, can you tell I like bright colours? Smile

And not a t-shirt but does a similar thing but in a more dressy way.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/05/2013 21:50

The Reiss one is lovely, but I have a few silk tops and am thinking of basically slobbing days when 'jeans and a t-shirt' really is what's needed. The Ted Baker links aren't working for me. I like the Hobbs parrot one, but not the other bird ones.

This is a much nicer colour irl. It's a bit boring though.

If that goes to the main pic, I mean the petrol one.

HauntedArmchairOfDoom · 30/05/2013 22:46

Anyone know where I can get really good T shirts with 1/2 or 3/4 sleeves?? I have upper arms like freezer bags full of cold porridge Sad and they need coverage, but I only seem to be able to find long sleeves ones.

Soz for SHAMELESS hijacking OP!

HauntedArmchairOfDoom · 30/05/2013 22:55

Oh hang on. Uniqlo. How did my last MILLION internet searches not turn that up Hmm

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/05/2013 22:56

No prob. Hobbs are good for three quarter sleeved t-shirts, but they are quite short in the body.
