What sort of t-shirts do you wear if you are just wearing, 'Jeans and a t-shirt' as a chuck it on and forget about it look? Am I too old for band t-shirts/printed t-shirts? I'm v bored of black and grey, which is pretty much all I have tbh. They are 'naice' black and grey ones, but still...

Help me out please, oh comfortable but stylish ones.

I've got a couple of variations on this and really like them.

Thanks Remus - I'll have a look there!

Short in the body is actually what I'm looking for - I have a weeny waist and a VAST arse and like to wear little fitted tops over full skirts, so long tops are hopeless...

HauntedArmchairOfDoom · 30/05/2013 22:58

Oo that's bang on, thanks - I'll see if they have any plain colours...

incidentally have you looked at Cos? They're really plain but there's something 'about' them that just makes them look a little sharper and more contemporary than 'any old' T shirt...

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/05/2013 22:59

Yup - what do you think of the petrol one I linked to? That's Cos.

Hello! I have a very specific tshirt request please.

I want a black tshirt made from soft material, ideally jersey type or thin soft cotton, and it must have a polo style collar and it must also have slightly longer than average sleeves, so nearly elbow length, or on the elbow.

I used to have one I got in Gap, but it has vanished. Gap no use, also M&S. Any help v gratefully received.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/05/2013 23:05

This and lop a bit off?

OP posts:
HauntedArmchairOfDoom · 30/05/2013 23:05

Oh yes I missed those, sorry....so I guess you're looking for something more sort of 'styled' (can't think of the word)

Have you looked at Religion? I effing love their stuff. If you like that All Saints vest with the sort of crow raven bird motif you might like their tops...

this ?

this?

MorrisZapp · 30/05/2013 23:05

If its any use, my current fave plain tshirts are the boyfriend pocket style ones from Superdry. They have a slight scoop neck, decent sleeves ( ie not leg of mutton type cap style) and a branding label on the hem. I liked it so much I got it in black, charcoal and green. They appear on eBay superdry store now and then. I think they're fifteen quid. I'm a busty size 14 but the large fits me, as its designed to be loose I think. Muffin top hiding length too.

AmberNectarine · 30/05/2013 23:09

I like Helmut Lang ones. Now I'm not suggesting anyone pays £70 for a t-shirt because I accept that is ludicrous, but the feature I like about them is the curved hem. Maybe look out for curves hems?

I also really like T by Alexander Wang muscle vests, which pop up on the outnet for c.£30. I got a gorgeous purple one the other day.

SoTiredAgain · 30/05/2013 23:10

Yes, it is bit boring Grin.

Ok, you like muted colours. How about prints on muted coloured t-shirts so its not all samey and boring? Wink

Elephants for cooler days? Another striped one. Or a snake one, although I don't actually like it. Cute.

Do you like spots?
Butterflies.

That's it, I think. Just noticed the overwhelmingly animal based theme on my links!

MorrisZapp · 30/05/2013 23:11

Ooh, thanks for the link! I think I want a deeper placket than that, and possibly thinner material? Though v good point about lopping off a long sleeve. My sister has a sewing machine.

I don't mean a polo collar like an actual sports shirt, I just mean a collar and buttons iyswim. So a cross between a tshirt and a shirt.

MorrisZapp · 30/05/2013 23:13

I noticed marks and Spencer's had a very sweet 80s retro type tshirt today, it was white with pink stripes and love hearts. It sounds hideous but actually looked v cool. The sign said as featured in Vogue so somebody agrees with me :)

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/05/2013 23:14

Really like the 1st Religion one but have a virtually identical one; ditto the striped Whistles one. Have a couple of curved hem ones from Topshop and Warehouse, but just feel as if I am pretty much always in a grey or black plain t shirt.

I do like the snake one, but none of the other animal ones.

I deffo don't do pink or cute - am an ex-Goth fgs. Wink

OP posts:
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/05/2013 23:16

I have no idea what a placket is, or how deep such a thing should be. Please enlighten me! :)

OP posts:
MacaYoniAndCheese · 30/05/2013 23:19

Zara organic cotton are lovely and looooong. Just the way I like them.

MorrisZapp · 30/05/2013 23:22

The placket is the rectangle of thicker material that the buttons and buttonholes are on. I want the buttons to be quite deep down the front. Not that I plan to undo them until I've had a few beers

MorrisZapp · 30/05/2013 23:25

... I plan to wear my tshirt/shirty hybrid with skinny jeans and heels for a night out. So it needs to be v thin, and made of jersey to flatter my massive boobs and relatively small waist. I know this style suits me, I've had a few in the past, just can't find any just now.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/05/2013 23:26

Struggling to picture it, Morris, so google isn't getting me anywhere!

MorrisZapp · 30/05/2013 23:29

Aw thanks for looking Remus, I've seen a few possibles in charity shops and I'm sure I'll strike lucky soon!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/05/2013 23:36

Fingers crossed. :)

Snowgirl1 · 31/05/2013 10:51

Morris would you consider a jersey shirt with buttons all the way down the front like this

Snowgirl1 · 31/05/2013 10:59

I'll try the Ted Baker links again:

Remus, I've just bought some Zoe Karssen printed Ts on the Outnet - red, grey, and blue. I've fancied a Zoe Karssen T for ages and ages but would never have allowed myself to pay full price. Really like them, but we'll see what they're like on! I'll report back.
