What do you think to this hat / fascinator thingy?

I'm trying to put together accessories for SILs wedding later this year. I'm already stressing - my DDs are bridesmaids and I'm doing a reading so will be on display.

I've got this Phase Eight dress which I'm already doubting as its hard to match colour-wise. I'd prefer to go for soft grey accessories & shoes. Pink seems too obvious.

I've seen this rose fascinator which can be made in grey. Opinions and alternatives would be gratefully received!

Apologies for a millionth thread on the same bloody outfit. Nightmare Grin

I'm in Scotland! The outlets are actually my local shops! But the novelty quickly wears off! When we first moved here all our visitors wanted to do was go to the outlets!

I'll keep my eyes peeled for you.

It's not easy to pop up for a coffee and a browse :)

The outlet I went to didn't have the hats etc. There was a huge monsoon that did, but I was running short of time and patience to properly shop. It's a shame it's so far away really.

I wouldn't be surprised if I end up starting all over. I'm too self conscious to get it wrong!

Update:

I convinced DH to go shopping today. I can confirm that LK Benett shoes kill my feet! They squash my toes together so tightly that I got shooting pains up my leg! Shame.

DH picked these Debenhams shoes which match nicely, but they don't feel anything special. And not the beautiful soft leather I had envisaged!

The Debenhams we were in had a really good selection of hats etc, but still being indecisive I bought three to try on at home with the dress. All look ok, but I think because I had such a definite idea of what I wanted (but couldn't find), again I don't feel wow. DH says I'm so self critical I'll never feel wow Grin

Debut hatinator

Julien MacDonald fascinator

Perfect colours Principles fascinator

Should I just go with what I've now got or keep searching for something that may not actually exist?!

I'm the world's most difficult shopper, I'm sure...

Of the 3 the hattinator is best I think (but I don't like those little pill box type affairs). It looks really dark in the photo, I'm guessing its not nearly black?

Can you post photos of you wearing the ensemble? With each different hat?

WeAreSix · 28/05/2013 20:42

It's more charcoal than the pic. I liked the pillbox for the sparkle, but not for the sticky-up twig things. The hat is more wedding - I didn't put it on as far forward as they've got online. The feathers are the best match for colours. I wonder if all of them are too busy with the print on the dress. I keep going back to the first fascinator I linked to. I like that no one else will be wearing it.

If I can scrub out my face ( Wink ) I'll post pics.

I emailed phase eight, and they have the hatinator I stock in some of their shops. If you email them your postcode they can either tell you where the nearest one to you is or get it sent to you. Mary ribbon hat, item number 702681153.

You are an absolute gem! Thank you Flowers
