Having said that....I always plan to be sensible then forget that and have a few drinks .....Wink

McNally · 14/05/2013 22:46

Any news on your dog Paris?

Grumpy love the Prada sunglasses and well done DH on getting them for you.

I like the French Connection jacket if yours can't be repaired Shop. I like the colour of that one the best. Marant one lovely too but £££.

Fab trainers Dry. Outfit sounds perfect. A few drinks will numb the pain of the killer heels!

LinusDKD · 15/05/2013 05:58

Lovely nail varnish Dry

DD is a bit too young to see who she looks like but I think DS is a mixture of DH and me.

They both have different eyes than us (both green) as DS has very dark brown eyes and DD (still) has blue eyes.

Yes, Marsha, even after more than 29 years you do remember those comments even though I am ok with how I look now.

My dad once said that I was a 'classical beauty' and that I would get better with age. Thanks dad, that's really what my spotty, braces and glasses wearing 14 year old self wanted to hear. Hmm

Right, enough with the the self-pitying trip down memory lane!

I am wearing the Boden knitted jacket for the first time today and I really like it. Might need to find a bright scarf to liven it up a bit though.

LinusDKD · 15/05/2013 06:19

Oops, not 29 years but 20 years...

Drywhiteplease · 15/05/2013 07:49

Right, inspired by Hopefully on the frugal thread, today I'm going to clear out my wardrobe. Lots of crap must go, lots of clothes I've been holding onto Incase I put on the weight I lost last year need to go too and things I have loved but don't wear need to find new homes....it's raining and I'm feeling determined.will let you know how I get on..............

AmberNectarine · 15/05/2013 07:54

Hey, nothing wrong with wearing glasses!

Wearing my bargain silk shirt dress today with JV snake print flats, black/snake whistles belt and black Zara blazer. Accessories are white MK bag, Stella & Dot bracelet, rose gold MK watch and a fab black pearl bracelet made for me by the lovely Susie So So. I love this dress but it needs a bit of grungifying to stop it looking too Middleton.

foxysocks · 15/05/2013 09:27

sounds gorgeous amber. have never been able to wear shirtdresses. have tried a few on but never purchased, they are not a good look on me

am wearing v fetching cropped leggings, grey long vest and dark green l/s top with striped thermal socks. drinking coffee before yoga in a silent house

queenc there's a grey-ish cross body anya on the outnet half price, still spendy but not as crackers as mulbs.

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 15/05/2013 09:31

Hello and thanks again for doggy get well wishes. My dog is alive, home and doing well, apart from falling off the sofa a couple of times due to the general anaesthetic! but I have spent a good hour this morning trying to get him to take a pill. There are bits of meat and cheese all over the kitchen floor but I managed it.

Hopefully Love the Marant leather jacket but if you can get your own mended then even better. Biker jackets make me look like an american fooballer so I have to keep clear. I found a 'biker clutch bag' though and loved the idea of a brick shithouse, old school biker on his Harley Davidson hanging on to his biker clutch as he cruises the freeway!

Dry I think it was you who linked the trainers. They are gorgeous and I am tempted to go clubbing again now that trainers are acceptable.

I also hate photos. I leave the house at one weight and, apparently put on 2 stone betwwen then and having photo taken. Some members of my family are models FGS, I am not one of them!

Amber I agree re 'toughening up' items. On my wedding day I wore a ballerina length tulle wedding dress. My mum was moved to tears until I started backcombing my hair to mess it up and applied copious amounts of eyeliner.

The sandal search continues, though the weather is very uninspiring. I even have a dedicated pinterest board now Grin

shopafrolic · 15/05/2013 11:34

How cold is it???? 6 bloomin degrees - that's how cold.
I tried this on today leather biker it's a thing of beauty. I thought I didn't suit bikers but the leather isn't thick and heavy and there's a wire in the collar so you can adjust it to suit.
I also tried Day Birger jacket which is lovely. The colour is a sort of putty colour, weird plasticky thin fabric but it's actually really interesting and the cut is very good. The putty, greeny grey colour is in my colour palette, the black is not. I'm tempted.
Off to hunt round for reduced versions of both.

Shop I've seen muubaa stuff on cocosa, brand alley etc.

MarshaBrady · 15/05/2013 11:43

Shop did you check out the outnet this morning? Leather jackets etc

MarshaBrady · 15/05/2013 11:44

Aww at your doggy Paris what breed is it? Sounds cute.

I really need to do that Dry, such a faff to eBay!

Sleepwhenidie · 15/05/2013 12:00

Oh I love that chocolate biker Shop, would be a great investment I think.

I am so grumpy with this weather (on the walk to school this morning DD asked if I could bring her gloves when I came to pick her up Shock) and I have a throat infection Sad. Back in pistols and jumper/scarf and coat [pout].

Glad your dog is feeling better Paris, Smile at the thought of him falling off sofa!

How's the clear out going Dry? I have a pile of stuff lined up for Ebay - mostly kids coats and things, I have exhausted my wardrobe Grin.

Am just off to Harley Street for a chat with a friend of DH's who is an osteopath and nutritionist. Am hoping he will give me a bit of direction in choosing a course to enrol on.

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 15/05/2013 12:09

Marsha My dog is a border/bearded collie cross. He's like a black and white border collie with serious bed head. Imagine Robert Smith from The Cure as a dog!

Shop I love that first leather jacket. Not sure on the second, prob only because the colour would be awful on me. I like All Saints leather jackets though I think they are a no-no on Mumsnet?!

Bomber

Brown biker

The one I would get

Denim jacket shape

MarshaBrady · 15/05/2013 12:20

Very cute! Just googled that's my kind of dog.

I just threw out two x pistols at weekend. Just too shoddy looking, am so hard on shoes, they really don't last. Terrible.

shopafrolic · 15/05/2013 12:31

Have found the Muubaa leather on the Outnet at half the price just not in my size. Will check Cocosa and Brand Alley - thanks Hopefully

Paris glad all is well with your dog. Thanks for the All Saints links, why are they a no-no?
Marsha take taxis more :)

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 15/05/2013 13:08

Shop I can't remember why, I've just got it into my head that I've read it on here.

Not that I give a shiney shite about the MN consensus, I've just spent the last half an hour drooling over All Saints coats Grin

Marsha In this weather you'll be fishing them out of the bin again!

There's some nice swimwear on J Crew. Particularly swimsuits and I'm not usually a fan of the one piece.

Francagoestohollywood · 15/05/2013 13:36

Hello everybody, my sandals saga is over, as I found a pair I fell in love with in one of my fav shops, but in red and I also got myself a dress, here

Now I am done for the next 5 yrs.
