OP posts:
foxysocks · 14/05/2013 10:43

it's this one

www.mulberry.com/#/storefront/c5501/7736/moreviews/

might be worth phoning shepton mallet, they had three in stock on friday for much less than £300! i think it was £140.

McNally · 14/05/2013 10:45

My DH wears trainery type shoes to travel into work too Paris. I suspect/fear that he might not change out of them as quickly as I might like...

That purse does sound lovely Foxy. I love it when you get something like a wallet or bag that you like so much you just want to stroke it and never let it be sullied by being put on a dirty table or floor.

foxysocks · 14/05/2013 10:45

also in stock at selfridges here if you want to bookmark for the sales

McNally · 14/05/2013 10:48

Meant to say, hope your dog is ok Paris and that you manage to keep yourself distracted until it is over. Looking at pretty purses should help!

QueenCadbury · 14/05/2013 11:01

paris hope your dog is ok.

sleep I know, I'm hanging my head in shame. Decided to take dd to the library after the school run and was just hoping that I didn't bump into anyone in there as I took my coat off. I feel very frumpy!

QueenCadbury · 14/05/2013 11:03

foxy I meant to ask you if there were any grey alexas in shepton mallet?

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 14/05/2013 11:07

Hopefully Eek at public speaking. My voice always goes really high when I have to do it! V jealous though. Your job sounds amazing.

Hopefully McNally Thanks for the doggy get well wishes. Usually I'm pretty controlled but I'm totally different when it comes to my darling pooch!

Foxy thanks for the links, that purse is just what I'm looking for. DH is going on holiday without me Shock to Nice Shock Shock so we are currently negotiating a compensation deal. That purse might me part of it.

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 14/05/2013 11:10

Cross posted Queen

I wouldn'y worry about looking frumpy in a library! I used to manage one, a big city one and Vogue towers it wasn't Grin

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 14/05/2013 11:10

Wouldn't!

BrandyAlexander · 14/05/2013 11:11

Oh Paris, hope your dog is okay. I just did ds' 3rd settling session at nursery. This time they suggested I leave the room after a while. He wailed as I suspected he might. He was okay after 5 mins of crying and 10 mins of looking upset but gosh parenthood is hardHmm

Am on way into office now. It's so cold! I am wearing an Austin read trouser suit as a result with a neon orange Ann Taylor top that ties at the side plus my balenciaga giant city and a power blue pashmina. Seriously, this is an autumn outfit!

A stone fell out of my Tiffanys cross and after 2 years I finally got round to getting it fixed. They had to send it off to New York to find a matching stone of same qualityShock. I really wouldn't have known the difference. Anyway I am wearing that today.

Hopefully I think your thing goes well. A tip for you: Less is more when it comes to public speaking so don't try and pack in lots of things into your 60 seconds.

santamarianovella · 14/05/2013 12:02

hi all !
paris,i hope your dog gets better, ohh, and i just saw apic of olivia palermo wearing your skort!

hopefully,good luck!

please ladies we want photos of the MU,we are going away this friday and the weather promises to be miserable, wish we could call it off!

shopafrolic · 14/05/2013 12:42

If it chucks it down this weekend I'll be driving to the MU. I'm not traipsing round West London in the pouring rain - champagne or no champagne!
Paris hope the op goes smoothily, I know what you mean about the way dogs look at you. Ours are very good at doing guilt stares.
Novice when DS was settling in at nursery they used to have to peel him off me, screaming. Now he runs in without a backward glance and I can't drag him away at hometime. It does get better.....
Have bought some Maybelline gel nail varnish as it was being raved about on AWO. Might have painted nails on Saturday after all!

Afternoon all. And my what a cold and miserable one it is. I'm sat here in my office plainly not working with the little radiator on under my desk and an absolute travesty of an 'outfit', I won't even mention. Off to dinner tonight with some smart new clients and the wife is very lovely and stylish, so must make an effort, although the coldness is throwing everything into disarray! My C de C jacket is still not here, 11 days after dispatch, so that's out of the running for tonight's outfit.
Love all this talk of the DHs - mine is very style-conscious and has a wardrobe that would shame my own. He has more stuff that me and both DDs put together. Sometimes he gets it verrrry wrong, but I put that down to his Dandyish ways and willingness to experiment Grin. Generally he is very neat, slim fitted and well put together and he 'doesn't do casual' in a baggy or sloppy way, but wears alot of well cut jeans. He's also a very clean man, which is one of the reasons I've kept him - he always smells nice (no mean feat when you spend your days with horses!).
I also love him because he's just bought me the Prada lace cats eye glasses I was drooling over on Pink Peonies (as well as the oversized MK Runway watch). I'm a lucky girl.

rubylovescheese · 14/05/2013 13:12

just wanted to thank whoever mentioned the gigi sandals yesterday I ordered them in rose gold and the gable sandals in metallic. both have arrived and are lovely. would never have time/energy/budget for this thread but do lurk from time to time and enjoy it.

shopafrolic · 14/05/2013 13:19

Lovely glasses Grumpy and yay to the watch! DH sounds v stylish Envy (and generous!)
Ruby I mentioned Gigis on the Outnet - Anni mentioned from somewhere else. Glad you found something. That's v quick delivery!! Glad you got something lovely, do delurk again. It's nice to hear from new people.

Shop get cabs! Will probably cost the same as parking and won't limit your enjoyment of prosecco or similar Grin

santamarianovella · 14/05/2013 13:33

sleep thats what i was about to say! shopyou dont want to be the only one not drinking!

rubylovescheese · 14/05/2013 13:34

shopafrolic yes it was the outnet ones. had been stalking the site for about a week! having size 3-4 feet does help.

QueenCadbury · 14/05/2013 13:37

grumpy love the glasses.

I should be allowed back in the thread now as i have freshly washed hair and wearing a much more stylish outfit.

What's everyone's opinions on white belts? I ordered one ages ago thinking that it would 'summer' up a basic top and jeans (also ordered pink) rather than the black or navy that I usually wear. But I'm not sure if it just looks a but cheap...?

shopafrolic · 14/05/2013 13:38

What do people think of this please?
www.frenchconnection.com/product/75BH9/Lizzie+Leather+Jacket.htm#BVRRWidgetID
I went to put on my leather bomber type jacket this morning and it is falling apart. I want something similar but in brown or tan.
Completely the wrong time of year to be looking. I can't wear biker jackets so it needs to be bomber or fitted in style. Has anyone seen anything?

Hello all - I am so Envy of the MU talk. Like Santa I am feeling that going away this weekend is going to be horrible due to the weather. The office I am in today is so cold - north facing and usual public services thing of turning the heat off in April and leaving it off until Oct regardless of weather. I am wearing a mid length black pencil skirt with a black and white stripe t-shirt and red belt but instead of the usual cropped jacket which makes me look chic (in my opinion anyway!!) I am wrapped up in a oatmeal waterfall cable knit cardi and a pink wool scarf. This is INDOORS, in MAY and I am still sodding freezing. And my hair looks crap - not just unwashed and unstyled but overdue a trim and a colour also.

Moan, moan, moan....

shopafrolic · 14/05/2013 13:38

It definitely does Ruby there are some fab shoes for small feet on there at the moment. Glad you got them :)

libertychick · 14/05/2013 13:52

I like that French connection jacket shop - your link isn't working though.

Having been reading back over the comments on how all your DH's dress - I tried buying some clothes once for DH in the early days of our relationship and he was horrified! Made it very clear he does not need to be bought for!! He is a jeans, boots or trainers and rugby top man. Or board shorts and sleeveless vest (he's antipodean!!). Suits and ties strictly under duress. Despite the seemingly casual approach he is actually hugely fussy - MIL said he was a nightmare as a child refusing to wear things unless they were properly fitted so she used to have to take in all his school shirts and let them out gradually throughout the year.

santamarianovella · 14/05/2013 13:56

i like the jacket shop,i found a really nice one by marant but it was black, why dont you wait a month or so for the prefall clothing?you will have bigger choice.

MarshaBrady · 14/05/2013 14:16

Shop I second taxis. Not expensive. Parking will cost a fortune, taxi will be much cheaper! Also one tends to look better when everyone is drinking Wink Grin

Sleep ha no head that sounds worse! Grin (I get the adverse photo thing from my mother, along with a fear of spiders).

Hopefully good luck for the speaking.

Novice it's a nightmare isn't it the settling thing at nursery. Ds2 is happy now but gosh it's hard to do.

This weather! Am uninspired.
