I have black. Would never have chosen but were S1s originally.

If you replaced yours what would you get?

I have these already - I have blonde hair and I have a weird thing about matching bags and shoes to my hair. But this thread's making me want more...

How they are washed in Brazil: scrub vigorously with washing powder. Rinse. Lean against a wall to dry. Repeat frequently. The slim ones are my favorite type.

I bought these a couple of weeks ago, and they are my first pair: www.surfdome.com/havaianas_flip_flops_-havaianas_slim_season_flip_flops-_white/coral-125460. Really like them and very comfy, v impressed so far!

Do they make ones for skinny-skinny feet? I always have about 4 inches of strappage floating the air above my feet in normal flip-flops, which means they just fly off randomly.

which size would you get for a UK 6.5? Have seen some on John Lewis website but only come in S, M, L.

I have black sans flag and green avec flag. Like the plain ones best. Re sizing, they come up big so buy a size smaller if poss but do the foor measuring thing just to make sure

Hard scouring will eventually cause some fading but mine were scoured once a week for several years Wink I used to be a hard-core Havaianista - wore them every day for years, including long hot walks. I even managed to wear my favorite pair out (the thong part snapped). Have still several pairs customized with little diamante flower, frog, and butterfly charms. Simple denim blue is my favorite color.

I have very slim, narrow and long feet and the slim strap model is just right for me. The wider straps feel too bulky and coarse on me but might work well on different feet. I had a pair of Ipanemas too, very pretty gold-white sakura pattern, but they felt coarser and faded very quickly

Re sizing, Brazilian sizing 39-40 is Eur 40-41 and just right for my Sz 40.5-41 feet.

I'm confused. Why would anyone have more than one pair of flip flops? When do you wear them? I take mine with me when I go on holiday so I can go onto the beach. They're a bit of rubber that's all Confused

I used to live somewhere very warm where everyone wore flipflops all the time just like we wear ballet flats, trainers or ankle boots (all of which were too hot for that type of climate). I still use them as house slippers in the summer.

I wear mine every day it is warm through the summer, definitely not just on holiday. That £23 is made to work hard!

I wear mine around the house all the time and casually out in the summer, in addition to hot holidays.

I live at the beach so they are my exclusive summer footwear. Only have 2 pairs though, plus Birkenstocks!

Do they have them in store in matalan? I want to see what all the fuss is about before I shell out for them

They don't have them at my matalan, ordered a pair to collect at the weekend. DH has had the same pair for years, still going strong

I need some decent flip flops.

They are all I wear all summer long.

Ive not had a pair of havianas before, but I suppose for a pair of shoes that will last £20odd is not expensive.

Best pair of flip flops I ever had were Kurt Geiger ones that were free with Elle magazine about 9 years ago! Not found them again at any KG outlets though.

Wore a cheapy pair last week and now I have sore feet, so seriously considering some decent ones.

Had a look, no Havaianas but I did get a dress for the poxy wedding I'm going to next month so result!

I don't even know if I still have the pair I had. They're either far far down in the back of the understairs cupboard or I got rid. I just don't remember them being all that. Am intrigued now though.

This inspired me to go to TK Maxx today, picked up a nice pink & silver pair for £10. They were the only nice ones left = extra smug.

I have brown slimline ones with a gold strap and pink floral design. Its about my fifth pair - I would never buy any other make. I live in them all summer and use them as flip flops the rest of the year. I travelled through Latin America a few years ago and wore them pretty constantly - they survived several madcap adventures including by mistake a 5km walk. They are so comfy and make me smile whenever I put them on.

I love them. They are worth it for me because I do live in them during the summer. They are literally all I wear on my feet between May-September and I do wear them until they fall apart. Currently I have plain black Tops for work, black Brasils (a bit worn down), yellow/green Brasils and grey Brasils. I'm trying to work out if I need some metallic ones for this summer or if I could just customise a pair I already have. Agree that they collect dirt, I'd be wary of white/light coloured ones.

However, great tip about the washing machine - I scrub them by hand every few weeks in the summer, but putting them in the machine is genius!
