Is £79 too much for Clarks sandals??

I really like the look of these and I'm sure they'd be comfy and I'd wear them lots to work. But £79!?

The ones linked to in the OP were in the sale not long ago. They did the same style last summer and they ended up being massively reduced. It might be worth holding out a few months for summer sales. I know I'd be annoyed if I forked out £79 and then saw them for £30 a few months later.

i absolutely love them (love Clarks anyway).

they def look like they've been modelled on swedish hasbeens (or vice versa). the clarks ones are a damn sight cheaper and they look waaaay more comfortable too.

79 is quite pricey for sandals but if you think you'll get a lot of wear out of them, that they will last and you really love them then go for it.

(the amount of times I've spend 20 quid here and 30 quid there on crappy summer sandals that don't last....)

I recall my gran wearing similar....I am not joking. She is 76. So either the shoe looks frumpy or I have one rockin gran!

They'll be in the sale in a couple of weeks.

I bought some pumps 2 weeks ago and they are already £20 off - bit pissed off actually!

It's all about what you accessorise them with though. Of course if you wear them with a knee length skirt, twinset and pearls they will look like your nan's cast offs. But with rolled up skinny jeans, a breton top and MASSIVE sunnies they will be gorge.

You tread the same fine line with Barbour jackets- wear with wellies and cords and people will assume you own an extensive amount of farmland and a Landrover discovery.

iMO they are gorgeous in a retro way and very Swedish Hasbeen which the fashionistas like m.sarenza.co.uk/swedish-hasbeens-peep-toe-high-colours-s2798-p0000051188 but about 50 percent cheaper. However I would only spring for them if they were super-comfortable and thus likely to be worn almost every day. And I'd definitely try my best to get 20 percent off

Too expensive and will date very easily - so you won't want to wear them next year.

They aren't called Hasbeens for nothing Grin

I love them too but would not get the wear as they are too high

these are nice as a lower heeled wearable alternative

craicdealer how old are you? I had to wear those monstrosities in the 70's - you must be young and gorgeous if you can carry them off!

I like them and I like the even more grannified flat versions! I would wait for a 20pc off code though to make me feel better. They are unlikely to be in a sale as they had the same out last year which were never reduced. They are indeed rolling stock. I like the tan colour.

Not keen on the shoes sorry, but re price I'm surprised at clarkson charging £79. One of the reasons why I go to Clarks, apart from comfort is reasonable prices. I hope they don't start sticking prices up, there's enough £££ shoe places as it is.
