Is £79 too much for Clarks sandals??

I really like the look of these and I'm sure they'd be comfy and I'd wear them lots to work. But £79!?

"I tried these on but felt like I was channelling my Ma circa 1974"

Grin I bought my first pair of platform sandals in 1973 and they were very similar to these. At 14 I thought I looked really cool in them. At 54 no way.
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 25/04/2013 20:15

I like those, but I wouldn't pay more than £45 or so for them.

NotSoNervous · 25/04/2013 20:16

Yep way to much!

RedPencils · 25/04/2013 20:21

Clarke last for ages so if you really like them and think you'll get 2-3 years out of them then its worth.

I don't like em much, heels too high for everyday wear for me.

ChablisLover · 25/04/2013 20:27

Too dear

But op a dark brown version was reduced for ages on clarks website - think they were £47 but they seem to have gone now.

invicta · 25/04/2013 20:29

I think they are lovely, but a tad expensive.

maybemyrtle · 25/04/2013 20:37

I've been looking at these too and can't decide. If you could handle red or a darker brown, they were last year's colours and can be found on ebay for £30ish...can't vouch for the sandals or sellers though, obviously

FunnysInLaJardin · 25/04/2013 20:44

I agree that Clarks have become too expensive. I love their shoes though as they are so comfy yet not hideously old fashioned. That is why I wait for the sales and buy what they have

these are similar and very comfy.

50shadesofmeh · 25/04/2013 20:47

I have these and they are fantastic , gorgeous leather , really lovely made and very comfortable, they look really stylish on too, I had a 20% off code so look online for one.

50shadesofmeh · 25/04/2013 20:50

I have the flat kestral soar ones too and I love them also I wore them all summer last year and they still look brand new

piratecat · 25/04/2013 20:52

op what about these

Tk Maxx online

polyhymnia · 25/04/2013 20:52

Really boring IMO. And too high (for me, but not you I guess).
I would pay that and more for shoes but not from Clarks.

theoriginalandbestrookie · 25/04/2013 21:59

I like them, but I would never pay full price from Clarks, wait until they are reduced or there is a code.

FreshLeticia · 25/04/2013 22:58

Those flat ones are just Jesus Sandals. We had to wear them in school in the early 70s.
The Clarks wedge is a bit frumpy, but the one Piratecat linked to are much funkier.

DewDr0p · 25/04/2013 23:09

That is a bit steep for sandals I reckon. The House of Fraser ones are nicer and cheaper imho

CoolCadbury · 25/04/2013 23:10

Another one who is reminded of circa 1974 (my mum, not me!) and another one who thinks Clarks are too expensive.

applecrumbleandcream · 25/04/2013 23:37

No not worth the money. Wouldn't pay more than £30 for them.

LadyMountbatten · 26/04/2013 06:12

Ooh op they are VERY fashionable.

With rolled up pale jeans yes siree

LadyMountbatten · 26/04/2013 06:12

Pirate cats are mumsy

LadyMountbatten · 26/04/2013 06:15

Ooh mrs cb I like those. Have you got? What colour?

PlumSykes · 26/04/2013 06:53

I agree that £79 is a surprising amount for a pair of Clarks sandals, but if you would get loads of wear out of them, then I think they would be a good buy. They'll be comfy, and will wear well, so a wise purchase on balance.

MrsCampbellBlack · 26/04/2013 06:54

I tried the white but didn't like. Am hoping they do navy or red or something. They were very soft leather.

LadyMountbatten · 26/04/2013 07:17

They do. Red black tan.
White too surgical
