It is on Monday, and i have literally nothing here and no idea what to do at this late stage. Seen nothing in local stores, and would prefer something very special that could be worn in the future, also.

Is it fitting? I am not very experienced with this sort of thing, but we don't want anything too sombre, if that makes sense?

Also, I am usually a size 8 (with miniscule norks) and am worried the size this model is wearing might swamp me (she is much taller than me, I am 5'4). But I am afraid to get the 6 because i have a 26 inch waist and feel it might be too small???
Oh, and I am late 30's but this would definitely suit my 'look' if that makes sense.

And it is so expensive......please help me out!

sittinginthesun thank you. I keep telling myself that i would definitely wear it again because if the expense, so i'm starting to send myself a bit mad! I am also aware that I can't entirely trust my own judgement at the moment.

QueenCadbury you are amazing thank you! I actually like the Mango dress, which is possibly the cheapest, too. I would want it to be a tad longer though...presuming model is around 5'10....the Coast dress is beautiful, too. I cannot make up my damn mind.

I also have to order whichever i choose this evening. It seems so ridiculous to fuss over it, but at the same time it matters.

Mango one is lovely. Quite fresh looking.

sittinginthesun · 25/04/2013 20:15

But I would wear tights. It's a bit short.

ToastedTeacakes · 25/04/2013 20:15

Really like the Oasis budgie dress - my dad loved them, too. Kind of confused by the way the dress is cut at front though. I can't make it out.

Polka dots are associated with fun and I wouldn't wear this to a funeral, it looks too cutesy and well, fun really. I'd go for something like this www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_028020864243_-1 with a simple cardigan.

QueenCadbury · 25/04/2013 20:21

No idea if any of these are any good. I've seen your Pinterest boards and blog and know you are petite with your own style but I can't remember how tall you all so doe of these may be far too short.

Next is a good option as offer next day delivery. John Lewis can usually be picked up the next day from in store or your nearest waitrose. I guess what you don't want is to be stressing about something arriving and then it being no good at the last minute.

If I find anymore I'll link x

I think it would be lovely, it's just enough upbeat but not too frivolous but l see you have moved away from that dress now.
Very sorry for your loss, my dad died in November last year and it mattered terribly to me that l looked very smart and that he would have been proud of me at his funeral. He was such a lovely man which is why l really wanted to make an effort for him. So l understand why it is so important to you.

ToastedTeacakes · 25/04/2013 20:31

That's so helpful, thanks again!
Not got a local waitrose or JL though, and not sure how to order from Next, but we do have 2 local stores here. May pop in tomorrow if all else fails.
Really like the lace dresses.

Oh, and I am 5'4.

sudaname I'm sorry to hear that. I feel similarly, even though he would go mad about the cost! I can't quite let the Jaeger dress go to be honest. Not sure why.

QueenCadbury · 25/04/2013 20:36

Do you have the money upfront that you could order the jaegar and another and then have the choice and return whatever isn't needed?

MrsMillions · 25/04/2013 20:36

Sorry for your loss.

Maybe a time to order several, in different sizes where you're unsure, and accept you'll be returning a lot when you've picked a winner? Completely different occasion but that's what a friend did for her own hen night when she ran out of time to go shopping.

MrsLettuce · 25/04/2013 20:37

The coast dress and the oasis dress are both lovey. I'd urge you to go with something reasonably inexpensive though, less than the coast one. The last thing you want is to be worrying about wearing it again or not.

this is spotty without looking as 'fun' as the mango one

MrsLettuce · 25/04/2013 20:38

yy if you can manage to order a load of stuff to try that would be best. I can see why you'd rather not be fussing with returns though.
