How did we finish the other thread so fast...? Less than a month.

ARGH I just STUPIDLY gave my email account password to a phishing email. Fortunately do not appear to have spammed anyone yet and have changed password. WHY did I do this?

Dress is alas not online!

Blackduck · 28/04/2013 16:52

Stropps size 16? You and I could have got in them together!!

Shame we are all not nearer, we could have one of those big swop type parties! Yes, Hatty the sophisticated bit is where I get stuck! My administrator is small and, erm, largish, but she has confidence in spades and wears stuff I wouldn't dare wear (even when I had no wobbly bits). And looks fab and 90% of that is not giving a whatever about what anyone else thinks - oh yes, that, and matching underwear!!

Stropps you also wore it in a paddling pool ;)

Stropperella · 28/04/2013 17:05

Holy shit, BTM, glad you warned me. It really isn't pretty. Mind you, I clicked randomly to try on a garment I would never actually wear: a skater skirt. Oh dearie me. When I have recovered from the resulting trauma, I will go back and "try on" some more serious choices.

MI - oops.

Yes, BD, I wore it in the paddling pool in the back garden. All the neighbours are very short-sighted. Grin

bigTillyMint · 28/04/2013 17:10

Stropps, I have been posting on this thread about it!

motherinferior · 28/04/2013 17:24

I feel very stupid Blush but have changed everything now!

Stropperella · 28/04/2013 17:31

The phishing efforts I have received lately have been quite a lot more sophisticated than those I have seen before.

Cremolafoam · 28/04/2013 18:25

Agree about the spam- very sophisticated. I used PayPal recently and also did a bank transfer. Within a few hours I was sent a phishing email from what looked like PayPal and also one from my bank. Not a coincidence and they were so plausible I had to get dh check them.

Scary biscuits.

Have had a cross border summit meeting with sister re mothers party which resulted in dsis ordering a frock from Debenhams and me ordering tissue paper pompoms.

CointreauVersial · 28/04/2013 21:20

Another top day - DS's team won the cup! Raaaahhhhh! Very much the underdogs, but held onto a 2-2 draw through extra time, and won on penalties. DS played well (and, being a defender who couldn't hit a barn door at ten paces he didn't need to take a penalty, so I was spared that particular parental stress).

We retired to the pub for champagne and pizza; all in all a successful weekend. I am now knee-deep in laundry and not looking forward to work tomorrow at all.

Friday brings DS's third and final opportunity for silverware, with the Surrey Schools cup final. At this rate, I shall have to reinforce the mantelpiece at the chateau.

QueenQueenie · 28/04/2013 21:48

Evening All.
Very unproductive / dull weekend here chez Queenie. Saw Berberian Sound Studio at BFI this afternoon with DH. Disappointing I thought. Dh went to sleep for about 40 minutes then flatly denied it.
Ds1 on the brink of GCSEs, kicking off with 2 whole days of art tomorrow and Tuesday. He seems fine about it...

I have the opposite problem to those of you who are shopping / clothes averse. I love shopping, online and the trailing round shops kind. Am trying to be more controlled. Am especially in need of restraint re shoes...

Have posted a notice on the Charities board re an event I'm involved in organising - Celebrity Cricket Match - on 25th May. Anyone fancy it?

QueenQueenie · 28/04/2013 22:55

charity cricket match

Blackduck · 29/04/2013 06:04

We have finally agreed time/date for ds's birthday party (we are allows so tardy!) and after swearing it would be smaller this year he is inviting 20! (About half the school ;) )
Other than that it was buying birthday pressies for various people, a walk and a quietish weekend.

Back to face the in-box after two days out, AND they screwed my pay up...

bigTillyMint · 29/04/2013 06:17

Must be the mont for it, BD - they screwed my pay up too - put me back to part-time rateAngryHmm and then had to do an extra payment as it was so much less (though still not rightAngry)

Well done to CV's DS - your shelf sounds like ours!

QQ I think we will be away that weekend, but it looks good (well, DH would like it!) and for a great cause.

Have now got to cancel long-waited for dentist appointment as DD has a match tomorrow, grrr.
But now have 3 quotes for the garden and have picked one - now have to find out when he can start and let the others down....

motherinferior · 29/04/2013 09:55

QQ, I am very much not a cricketer - as demonstrated by my ineptitude last week - but have friends who might well be up for it! Will circulate.

QueenQueenie · 29/04/2013 12:34

Ta v much indeed. I should whisper it for fear of being overheard but I can't BEAR cricket... but needs must. MI thanks for offer to circulate, would be much appreciated. If you wouldn't mind pming me an email address I can send you an eflyer which is a doddle to send round...

QueenQueenie · 29/04/2013 12:59

'Tis done MI.

Stropperella · 29/04/2013 17:48

Looks really good, QQ. I've passed on the details to my cricket-mad cousin.

MrsSchadenfreude · 29/04/2013 20:36

I am having the mother of all periods. I am employing the belt and braces method of ginormous tampon (bought at vast expense from Pharmacy as French Women Do Not Bleed and you can only get regular in the supermarkets) and night time towel. I had such bad period pain last night that 2 nurofen and 2 paracetamol taken together didn't even touch it. I wasn't sure if I should take anything else, like some nice tramadol or codeine, so I just whimpered a lot and cuddled the cat and the hot water bottle. Marginally better today, in that I am still flooding, but the painkillers are taking the edge off it.

I yearn for the menopause.

OP posts:
CointreauVersial · 29/04/2013 21:06

Still no period here, not since October/November. Weird.

MrsSchadenfreude · 29/04/2013 21:22

EnvyEnvy at CV.

You're not pregnant, are you? GrinGrin

OP posts:
bigTillyMint · 29/04/2013 21:46

MrsS, that was my experience pre-HRT. And yours CV - even did a pregnancy test once!

I'm due on tomorrow - feel a little bloaty and tired, but should be OK for circuit training, gulp!

MrsSchadenfreude · 29/04/2013 21:50

I've been like this for years, apart from when I was on the pill. Sad I often throw up for good measure as well, did so last night.

OP posts:
bigTillyMint · 29/04/2013 22:04

I had terrible periods - heavy and baaaad pains from when I first started to when I got pregnant with DD. But the peri ones were bloodbaths! Don't think I've ever thrown up though!

Blackduck · 30/04/2013 05:48

I've had two mega heavy ones, but am now with CV - nothing since about sept last year. I don't even think about when I might be due now.....I am assuming this is the end!

CV my pay screw wasn't as bad as yours - i was due an increment, and they put me up one point instead of the two they should have! But at least they spotted it!

Blackduck · 30/04/2013 06:08

Sorry BTM re pay!!

I am now in the logistical childcare nightmare that is the summer term. Rather than a field in Finland dp is off to Belgrade and of corse ds is at school - so I have managed that one with a patchwork of me and the folks, but last week of term he buggers off to Barca and its the same problem... Ahh....
