Urgent help needed - I've aged!

I really don't know what has happened but all of a sudden my face has aged. I've got lines everywhere, crazy eyebrows and a bit of a tache. My skin looks red and dry. Have just rung local beauticians for eyebrow wax but there's no answer - so hopeful I'll get booked in soon. What else can I do? Can anyone recommend a good moisturiser that won't break the bank? Any other tips? Have got to stop the rot!!!

Marking place for tips. Me too. . Since becoming a parent, coming up to five years ago, I have aged overnight! I always look tired and though I get told by friends that my skin is clear/good, it doesn't look that way to me.

I drink lots of water, always have. Don't have any sugary drinks or eat biscuits. I have a bit of chocolate every week though. I cook fresh meals every day and I walk a lot. I think it's all the sleep I've missed since having DCs!

Coreeny - loads of exercise and fresh air yes, but a very good point about water - I probably don't drink enough and also, thinking about it, I've been drinking a lot more wine and eating a lot more sugar as its the holidays. That could be what has made such a dramatic change. Thanks.

Botox really works if you can afford it and aren't pregnant or b/feeding. Olay 7-signs moisturiser is good. On ebay they sell collagen face masks and eye masks, They aren't expensive and really work.

LAB - I think you're right about sleep although that isn't the case with me. I generally sleep pretty well. Like you I eat loads of fresh veg but I do wonder if its the increase in alcohol these last 10 days that has sent my skin over the edge.

me too! i try to keep bottles of water by my bed/computer/sofa so i remember to hydrate.
i use sweet almond oil as a moisturiser along with whatever is on offer (nivea at mo) as i have parched skin. i use rimmel's 'wake me up' instant radiance shimmer on my face in rose . my hands are horrible, dry and yellow like they're mummified, almond oil won't touch them.

i found doing an at home peel can give a bloom to the skin ,it's finding the time or inclination. i think you have to put in more work and often i can't be arsed.

body brushing/those glove exfoliators are good for circulation.

alcohol will make you look tired the next day

decleor so a really nice oil called iris oil which is great under moisturiser

I use beauty flash balm under laura mercier tinted moisturiser which helps me look less zombie like

almond oil from health food shops or little independent chemists. Peel - i think i got bravura as recommended by a mumsnetter a while back.

sudocrem is meant to be good as a face mask

I've read about an asprin facemask on here but haven't tried it

I bought some evening primrose oil capsules from aldi for about a quid and I've been putting that on my skin as a serum. A beauty journalist recommended it.

well I haven't actually tried the sudocrem face mask but I read it on here so it must be true!

Wine. It's a KILLER. Makes you puffy and bloated. I can always spot a wind face.

Would you have Botox ?

I only drink two glasses of wine a weekend and I don't smoke. Quite boring really, but that's why it's frustrating looking tired!

Yes. . I am almost two years shy of 40.

Lots of water no alcohol neals yard facial oil and L'oreal age perfect cell renew in the gold tub. All my friends are post 35 and they all look great (apart from the drinkers they look rough!)

not keen on Botox. Have just bought some REN face peel stuff and moisturiser & night cream thing. This is the new me!!! Yes Khaleese - I'm 43 (sob!). Now need to investigate light foundations but guess I actually need to go to a shop for that to test some shades.

I'd love to hear from someone who really has done the Sudocrem face mask!!!!!!!

oh and the central heating has really had an effect on me, think you're meant to put a damp cloth on radiators or something.

You can buy all the creams you like , wont make any difference.

Central heating is a killer and lack of vitamin d. It's been a long winter and it shows!
