Has anyone tried it?

They are very expensive so I don't want to buy it without being sure. The reviews on Amazon seem good but the comments about whether or not there is any discomfort seem to vary wildly.

I am not so hairy that I couldn't live without it but I am not a fan of waxing and I'm fed up with shaving stubble around my bikini line, and my legs always feeling a bit rough.

I don't have any problem facial hair (yet) but it struck me that for women with PCOS for example, this thing could be worth its weight in gold if it actually works properly.

Yes, I have one and it's fab. I'm blonde with very thick hair, took quite some time on underarms yet bikini line and legs responded well after just a few sessions. Not used for while as 36 weeks pregnant bug gave barely had to shave my legs and can't see it reach bikini line . They are quite often in offer mine was £249 from Amazon.

It said in the blurb that is was no good for read or blonde hair, or very dark skin. So as a dark head pale person it should be great for me, but I'm please to hear it's worked for you carrie.

I need someone to talk me through the pain. I don't do pain, as a rule.

I have one. It is great for face and underarms. My jury is still out on legs and bikini zone. It does not hurt.

I've got one and can happily report that it works! I'm of the pale skin and dark hair variety. Takes a little time and effort but it really works for me.

It says it should not be used above the neck. Is there a good reason for this I wonder. I have had professional IPL on my jawline so would this indicate that it would be ok for me to use there. I am guessing that there would be some very good reasons why some people shouldn't use it on the face but if I avoid my eyes etc might it be ok?

I did think about getting one too. How long to do a leg?! How frequently do you use it? Any problems with ingrowing hairs?

I have the precision one with the interchangeable heads (x2) which can be used on the face.
I'm quite impressed with the results so far but am under no illusions that I can ever be free from doing it on a regular basis.
Absolutely no pain for me.

I've had the original one (without the extra attachment to do facial hair) for about 3 years. I have dark body hair and medium skin. I noticed a difference within a few sessions. After around 6 months I had no regrowth at all.

I use it on the max setting on my legs with no pain at all, it a slight sharp pain if I use max setting on bikini line but fine if use slightly lower and still works.

You do not get any ingrown hairs as it kills the hair at the root, you don't have to grow hair to use it, you shave it off before use.

I love it, it does take a while to do your legs and I always have to recharge it at least twice to do both legs but I just use it whilst watching tv so don't mind. It only takes 2 minutes to do underarms.

My body hair is very fine and not especially dark. But my bikini line is more of a challenge! It says it can be used on 'hard to reach' areas, so I suppose that is a euphemism for you delicate undercarriage parts where you dare not put the VEET or a razor?

I am really tempted to go for it. I just need some more people to come on and reassure me that it doesn't hurt.

The bulbs are not replaceable though, so I guess once the bulb had ended its life then so has the appliance. I thing I need some reassurance that it doesn't conk out after a year and a month! Although I won't be a heavy user compared to most.

So once you get it all underway how long can you expect to go before you get any regrowth long term? It's only semi-permanent isn't it?

I really want one, but £400 is a serious amount of money to spend at once. Does anyone have a cheaper non Philips model that does something similar?

I know. But if you are a regular waxer then I guess it pays for itself in the end but if like me you are an lazy shaver with a bit of Veet on the side is it worth it?

I would say you need to use setting 2 or 3 for "delicate" areas but even on the highest setting it is nowhere near as painful as using an epilator or being waxed. It does not hurt at all on the highest setting on my legs, underarms or bikini line.

I can't really remember but I think I could see hair reduction by session 2/3 and by 6 months of use there was a massive difference.

You have to be very careful as it can stimulate hair growth rather than reduce it. The frequencies that a professional can use are different from the frequencies permitted on a home machine. It can also discolour dark skin which is why you can't use it if you have a tan.

I have PCOS and have been warned away from them.
