Has anyone tried it?

They are very expensive so I don't want to buy it without being sure. The reviews on Amazon seem good but the comments about whether or not there is any discomfort seem to vary wildly.

I am not so hairy that I couldn't live without it but I am not a fan of waxing and I'm fed up with shaving stubble around my bikini line, and my legs always feeling a bit rough.

I don't have any problem facial hair (yet) but it struck me that for women with PCOS for example, this thing could be worth its weight in gold if it actually works properly.

Who warned you off them Phantom? That's such a shame - I would have thought it would be a godsend for people with PCOS.

One the blurb it says not suitable for blonde or red hair, or for people with 'very dark skin' but I'm not sure what constitutes 'very dark'.

It's funny because I live in an Arab country and the local ladies here are OBSESSED with body hair removal, so I imagine it sells well. I wonder if they know before they buy it that if they are very dark it will not work?

If planning to buy online I would pop into Boots and have a look at the Lumea first as there is a chart with it which tells you exactly who can and can't use it re hair and skin colouring.

Without checking mine, I think it is very fair skinned with red or very fair hair, and asian and black skin tones that can't use it. If you have fair to quite tanned skin with medium to very dark body hair it would work well.

I don't know about it increasing regrowth, for me personally it was the opposite. Although it is not permanent I found that after around a year of using it and then not using it whilst pregnant and breastfeeding I only needed to shave my legs once a fortnight and even then the hairs were much less and finer than before.

I would think so Beeny but I would read all the reviews thoroughly before you laid out that kind of money or email Phillips customer services to ask for clarification.

Came on here looking for a thread about these. The Boots one gets excellent reviews online but it's sold out. I think I'm convinced enough to buy one, I've been waxing since I was 14 (20 yrs!) and I'm utterly fed up with it and the constant ingrown hairs. Dreaming if hair free legs for summer.
