A 20 yo DS1 turning up totally unexpectedly yesterday.

Biggest present there could be.

IncognitoIsMyFavouriteWord · 10/03/2013 12:33

I got 2 hand made cards 1 bought card and the call the midwife books.

I expected a handmade card but DS secretly saved and asked a friend to help. I'm a lone parent and its nice to know he felt like he wanted to show his appreciation. Smile

TheFallenMadonna · 10/03/2013 12:45

A hama bead creation saying "mum power", two paper flowers (to add to the vase of fading paper flowers I get from DD every celebration), a big box of chocolates, yellow tulips, and a story written by DS (11) in which I feature as a very skilled sniper Hmm.

Breakfast in bed, scrambled eggs and crispy bacon presented "master chef style" according to DS,with lots of height!

And we went out for a meal last night (by tradition), which was lovely.

iMe · 10/03/2013 13:00

Breakfast in bed. Naice bubble bath. lovely long bath with dd. lunch now being cooked by DH. Grin

Faxthatpam · 10/03/2013 13:39

Mariah - that's crap Sad - I'd go on bloody strike if I were you!

purplewithred · 10/03/2013 13:52

Russel and Bromley leopard print ankle boots. The perks of grown up working DCs. Grin

Loveleopardprint · 10/03/2013 15:49

Two books, daisy perfume and cards. Best bit though was a power point telling me why I am the best mum! Made me cry. Dd2 now giving me foot rub. Heaven!

mamaduckbone · 10/03/2013 16:01

Bacon sandwich and coffee in bed, homemade cards, tissue paper flowers and a 'promise voucher' made at school (ds1) and playgroup/home (ds2), cuddles and an argument free day. Ds1 and I had a pretend argument this morning since he thought he might struggle to get through the whole day so we got it over and done with! Grin

ItsintheBag · 10/03/2013 16:04

I got a homemade paper bag decorated and inside with ten pieces of paper in with ten reasons why he loves me (courtesy of school)

I had a little sniff at that.

blondiep14 · 10/03/2013 16:13

I got a card written by DS1 who is 5, some yellow roses and a bacon roll from DH.
DS's chose me three pots and planted some primroses in them with MIL yesterday. MIL also hosted lunch so am full of roast beef, red wine and good cheer Wine

BagWoman · 10/03/2013 16:15

Nothing yet- DCs live away from home, and nothing come in post-yet. Both too strapped for cash for bouquets- so that's it for me eh?

MunchkinsMumof2 · 10/03/2013 16:19

I got homemade cards from my dc, a homemade sewing kit holder, a bunch of tulips and a voucher for a pedicure. I feel very loved! Happy Mother's Day Style&Beauty experts Thanks

cardamomginger · 10/03/2013 16:27

On Thursday I got a card from DD that she made at nursery. Today she threw up all over me. She did the same thing last year.

SoYo · 10/03/2013 16:29

First Mothering Sunday here. 11 day old DD made me a card with a photo of her on on the computer this morning (she's very advanced) while I snoozed after getting total of 90 mins sleep overnight. DH is making roast dinner & homemade profiteroles (yummy) & is very apologetic over lack of pressie but as he hasn't left my side in 12 days he's very forgiven! He's going to take us for nice lunch out later this week. Very lucky Mummy here. Best bit is warm snugly newborn cuddles.

OhMyNoReally · 10/03/2013 16:30

A lovely homemade card, a cute bought card a gorgeous red flowering plant in a pot, some lovely white chocolate truffles and an amazing replica Venus of Willendorf (extremely happy about the venus) Also a lovely lie in, a great walk in a blizzard and a lovely meal out.

I'm a very lucky lady. Grin

survivingwinter · 10/03/2013 16:47

Oh MariahHairy Sad

V happy this morning with a card from each of the DC and some body butter from the Body Shop! DH cooking roast now yum. I feel very lucky Smile

dottyaboutstripes · 10/03/2013 16:58

I've been spoilt rotten! Bacon butty & v hot tea made by dd2 for breakfast, dh is cooking a roast beef dinner.
I was given a variety of home made and shop bought cards plus I got an ecard (I have 6dc!), decleor goodies, a Coach handbag, chocs, a book, a box of tea bags & new mug Grin
Of course I'd give it all back to have had dd1 here today - she's in her first yr at uni and I miss her MASSIVELY!

HaveAGoodDay · 10/03/2013 17:18

Just wanted to give Mariah this Thanks :)

ujjayi · 10/03/2013 17:26

Happy Mothers Day all :). What a lovely thread - so sweet to hear of sloppy kisses, homemade cards and tales of heroic mothers ;)

For those of you who are left feeling disappointed, I hope you at least manage some lovely cuddles and moments with DCs today.

DC brought me breakfast in bed - fruit salad & a cup of Assam. A bunch of ranunculus & anenomes in a jam jar and two lovely homemade cards. DH cooked lunch - roast beef, yum. And we've just had a cosy day at home.

This has been such a special day for me. I have been very ill recently and am learning more and more the importance of enjoying each and every moment.

Jayne266 · 10/03/2013 17:34

I got a lie in and a foot and hand casting kit from my DH and lovely cards. It's my first mothers day.

AlistairSim · 10/03/2013 17:47

Thanks for all of you who are feeling a bit neglected.

madammecholet · 10/03/2013 18:40

My DD used his first ever £2 pocket money to buy me 2 bars of chocolate which he put in a paper bag and then decorated.. ..

plus a bouquet of flowers from DD & MAC makeup (how the kids 10yrs/4yrs knew my requirements?!)...

I then put DH on the train to Twickenham to watch ENG V Italy and had the family (women) over for girls tapas & prosecco lunch... bliss Wine
