All of the other ones are closed now and I still need some help!

Mine are quite broad to the armpit and now lacking full volume on top but the Rhea for me scoops it all up and in. Interesting that the Delphi didn't work can't quite work out why...higher cup? It gaped a bit. The side seems similar but the Delphi couldn't contain the armpit boob

AmazingDisgrace · 18/04/2013 00:19

Was that you? It was someone who went over there and viewed a couple of other Czech manufacturers?

StatisticallyChallenged · 18/04/2013 00:24

Lordy no not me ( I wish!) - just come to realise recently that even the best bras won't give me cakes because my boobs just don't have that shape, if that makes sense?

AmazingDisgrace · 18/04/2013 00:35

Yup, makes sense. Mine FWIW were an FF cup in my teens/20s with full on top volume. Back then (80s) M&S had me in a 38C, Allders in a 32FF which was closer but still wrong. I was a size 8 and had awful back problems. I had them reduced to a C/D in my mid 20s. They have over the last 20yrs grown back(!) As a 12 and not being wangled into M&S shit sizing my back is mainly coping.
I'm now 44 and a 30G/32FF and loving my breasts. I wish poor fitting and back problems years ago hadn't lead me to what I now wonder was unecessary surgery.

Sorry for ranting

sparkle12mar08 · 18/04/2013 07:51

AmazingDisgrace - on Curvy Kate Showgirls, I measure 31.5 under bust and generally wear a 30 as I'm squidgly of torso, but I need a 28 in the Thrill Me and Tease Me. I think they're incredibly stretchy in the band. Cup wise I think they run snug. I'm wearing the 28HH and in all honestly I need the J, but it just gives more of a Marie Antionette wobble rather than me actually spilling out! The Thrill Me is much smoother than Tease Me, and with a bit of judicious trimming you could actually remove the lace quite easily. Tease Me not so much, I wear it under tshirts usually with a cardi, and with abandon if I'm stuck in the house, but who doesn't need the thrill of knowing they've got amzing undies on, even if they're by themselves?!

Beksybob · 18/04/2013 08:14

Hmf, I'm fed up.

I got 3 Junas in a 30D/DD/E last night and all wrong wrong wrong. Gentral gore really high and hurt and the shape of the cups was too...they pointed too far forward for my shape, so the inside of the cups (at the centre of your chest) was all empty, even on a size that was obviously too small. Found the band big too.

Oh, I'm so fed up of wearing these stupid tight contraptions and having things digging in to me from every angle, I give up!

[grumpy face]

marriednotdead · 18/04/2013 11:40

Oh Becksey Sad
It sounds as if you need an even shallower style. If it also needs to be a plunge because of the centre gore digging, then it becomes harder because most of the shallow styles are half cups with deep centres. Freya Deco (maybe even the soft cup version) and their Untamed may be better- they are both quite generous in the cup. The Untamed works particularly well as the mesh seems to mould to everyone's shape.

Beksybob · 18/04/2013 12:12

Thanks for putting up with the whinging married Smile

I had decided that plunges weren't for me - the shape seems to look a bit weird -the cups seem too round. I had decided that balconys just suited me better. But yeah, the high gore on balconys is a pain (literally).

I tried the Deco but it did nothing for me and it was gappy. Not tried untamed but sheer ones always seem terrible. All wrinkly! Especially on the top half of the cup.

I'm tempted to try non-wired. It might ease me in to bra wearing!

Alicethecamelshump · 18/04/2013 18:05

Hi, I have read all the bra threads and it is time to ask for help, please!

I have measured around my back which is 34 and around my horrid boobs which are 41. My clothes look terrible. i have back fat and my boobs do not fill the cup so they droop.

M&S have me in a 36c, please help me with a starter guide!
Thank you

StatisticallyChallenged · 18/04/2013 18:15

Based on those measurements I would start at a 34F. However, how snugly did you measure the back? Only asking as M&S normally manage to be more than one back size out!

marriednotdead · 18/04/2013 18:18

Alice I'd start with a 34F on those measurements. If your boobs are very soft and lacking volume then perhaps a Panache Tango or a Cleo Juna would be good styles to try. There's a link to the blog somewhere to advise you about fitting.

Alicethecamelshump · 18/04/2013 18:32

Thank you for quick replies. I pulled the tape firm which made my back fat hang over! And yes my boobs are long as thin as my daughter tells me! Just awful really, I'd love to wear a nice top that fits instead of a huge baggy top to hide the way my boobs look.

StatisticallyChallenged · 18/04/2013 19:02

thebetterbracampaign.blogspot.co.uk

Does sounds like a 34 then Alice - just wanted the check! M&S are running an average of 2-3 back sizes too big on most people.

The right bra will help a huge amount. I generally find (with the exception of my Ewa Michalaks) that I get better uplift from a good non-moulded bra. I had the Bravissimo Betsy Bow on today which is good for this, as is the Alana IME. I don't find Freyas give as good a lift.

Silverstar2 · 19/04/2013 07:40

Anyone tried Pour Moi? I have a couple on order - Simply Yours have 20% off and free delivery this weekend - code HAYL1. I am being brave and going to a 32 back, as most of my new 34's are on the middle or tightest hook. Wish me luck, they should arrive tomorrow.

Hi All.
Just to let you know that I've emailed Rigby & Peller about my horrendous experience there.
I'll let you know if I hear back.

Colourarc · 19/04/2013 15:09

Just wanted to give the Interventionists another Flowers, not quite a week in my new bras and I have less back ache!!
Also, a friend at work last night commented what a lovely top I was wearing (Primani best & worn a lot before) as I said thanks and walked away, I realised she was actually complementing my new BRA!!!

So, so happy x

OneLittleLady · 19/04/2013 16:53

new Look have a very tiny collection of new bras in for ladies 32-36 DD-F. I bought a double pack today in 34F and I have to say, for the price (£11) they are really good and fit really well. I report not an ounce of back in them! Not much good for anyone much larger than me in the nork department but a smidgen more option for those around my size.

SorrelForbes · 19/04/2013 17:11

OneLittleLady Excellent find, price wise. However, I get so frustrated that shops like New Look don't stock anything smaller than a 32 band!

OneLittleLady · 19/04/2013 17:30

To be honest, I have struggled to find the right band/cup size in most places where I live. I always 34 was about average band wise but looking for it with an F cup has proven to be quite a task. The few places that have gone up to an F or above cup have mostly had them stocked in a 36 band size or above, with very little to choose from below that back size. it's a wonder anyone at all manages to find bras that fit!

marriednotdead · 19/04/2013 17:51

I once wrote an article about this^. Most women assume that they are somewhere between 34-40 bands and A-C cups simply because if that's all they can find, then they must be abnormal not to fit in them.

OneLittleLady · 19/04/2013 18:36

It's really awful when all you want is a decent bra that fits but wherever you go they try to squeeze you into a standard size like 34C for example. I can only conclude that I have always, up til my intervention, been wearing a very wrongly sized bra. I can't help but actually notice people now who I can tell by sight are wearing the wrong size. Not brave enough to say anything though Grin

StatisticallyChallenged · 19/04/2013 19:08

The availability of small back sizes does lead to people thinking they must be a bigger back. If you only tend to bra shop in normal high street shops you could quite easily think that anything above a 34 is very weird (along with anything above a DD!)

StatisticallyChallenged · 19/04/2013 19:10

And I actually think, based on these threads and various people I've "intervened" in real life that if I had to guess an average bra size it would probably be more in the region 32FF-G.

EMUZ · 19/04/2013 20:16

I have cornered my workout group Grin after one complaining her boobs fell out the bottom of her bra. I guessed (correctly) she was in a 38C. I pulled the back of the bra about 4/5 inches away from her body. Measuring tape to next class, and I think she is maybe a 32DD/E

EMUZ · 19/04/2013 20:17

Posted too soon! So yes I have gone past niceties and am on to groping now and yanking bra backs Blush
It helped when a few saw me getting changed and were fascinated by my fluorescent pink bra!
