All of the other ones are closed now and I still need some help!

Ok, thanks for your advice Emuz.

Have decided to send all the Ewa's back Hmm I am destined to wear plain boring bras!

Have placed an order for some Curvy Kate's as a last ditch attempt online! Thank goodness for credit cards so you don't notice the £400+ I have spent in bras that have been largely returned!

Do bravissimo carry more stock in the shops than you can get online?

I need to get something with thinner straps before the 'summer' arrives

StatisticallyChallenged · 29/03/2013 19:30

Is it worth swapping the Ewas for different sizes?

Bravissimo have the same items in store I'm afraid- their website is pretty good.

What have you tried so far (and what was good/bad about em) - just to try and work out some possible options for you

Hanginggardenofboobylon · 29/03/2013 20:10

Thanks SC

The ewa's would be too big in a 32 back, I just couldn't see them ever getting comfortable. The straps were a little wide on the S and although the back fitted on the PL the cup gaped a bit too much on my small boob side.

I get on with Freya Deco (getting used to the straps as they dig in a little by arm pit) and Bravissimo Satine.

Tried panache tango, freya Lauren, masequerade plunge, cleo meg, cleo juna, panache porcelain, freya plunge, virtually all the gorgeous range and everything else Debenhams had in my size!

Got a curvy Kate daily boost, elegance, and angel on order and a freya arabella

I seem to get on better with plunge and don't like a high gore (juna too high) but would like a balconnet lightly padded with straps not too wide set.

Boobs are wide and floppy -ish (nice!) they start very much under my arms (now I know this is boob!)

TIA

Hanginggardenofboobylon · 29/03/2013 20:26

To be fair most of the issues are with style (pointy boob -panache tango) and straps too wide/gore too high than anything more serious.

StatisticallyChallenged · 29/03/2013 20:37

Admittedly my Ewa straps are a little wide but I find this with damn near every bra on the market and it's no worse than any other for me. I also have very wide based boobs that live under my arm!

I think the problem is that balconnettes quite often do have wide straps - sometimes I find they are practically going sideways on me.

If you like the deco then the Curvy Kate Smoothie might be an option. Bravissimmo have brought out a moulded too (purity I think). There are a few other Bravissimo brand plunges which might also work (Dixie for example) - ime the straps tend to be slightly less far out on plunges.

I think it is a catch 22 when your breast base is wide, as the wires end up being pretty far round (especially on a narrow back) which means the straps end up digging in. To an extent I have just got used to this but I am also looking at ways to make adjustments - you can't do it with all bras but some designs will tolerate straps being moved a little.

Hanginggardenofboobylon · 29/03/2013 21:08

Glad I am not alone SC! I think I will stick with plunge style and will have a look at the ones you suggest. I think altering bras might be a little to advanced for me!

Thanks SC you are really providing a public service! Thanks

It's alright if you can afford these brands (thankfully i can) and so much trial and error but bras in these sizes need to be accessible to all, I wish one of the supermarkets/retailers would actually listen!

Hanginggardenofboobylon · 29/03/2013 21:46

Just found a Freya Taylor in figleaves sale with free delivery, at least it's pretty!

CelticPromise · 29/03/2013 22:19

Tallulah Panache sports bra is worth a look, I love mine.

OneLittleLady · 29/03/2013 22:38

YY, the supermarkets and less expensive retailers DO need to listen because I for one can't afford to keep forking out for expensive bras just because the less expensive ranges don't go past a D cup. Why should smaller busted women be the only ones who are catered for in terms of availability and price? It isn't right or fair that those with larger busts are forced to pay over the odds for something that fits properly. Fair treatment for ALL the boobies!!!

AmazingDisgrace · 29/03/2013 22:53

Anyone got the Masquerade Rhea? I've ordered it in a couple of sizes but I suspect I'll need a 34 for my 33 back, reviews suggest like my other Masquerades it runs small in the band although my 32 Delphi is perfect in the 32.

I'm also ridiculously excited to have found the matching knickers (bnwt) on Ebay

tatyr · 30/03/2013 10:03

Coming in to share my woes...
As a life long Bravissimo girl who luckily escaped the clutches of the Triumph Doreen when i was 17, i am still yet to find my perfect match.
When not pregnant / breast feeding i have mostly got on best in the Panache Tango (most recently in a 32k or kk) although lately i have been finding them very pokey under the arms and bony sitting on my ribs under the cups. Currently breastfeeding i've got a royce 34L which aside from the obvious cup overspill which i don't seem to be able to contain as have not found any style with larger cups, i have the additional problem of skin on skin rubbing. At best clammy, at worst excoriated and misery inducing.
I get fitted by someone at the Bravissimo shop every time i buy something, as it helps me to trawl through the new styles hopefully, but as helpful and excellent as they are, i still mostly come away feeling a bit sad.
I maintain that the problem is not that my boobs are too big (some might argue!) but i don't have sufficient choice in my size.
As my feeding is well established i might go back to an underwired style and convert it myself to a feeding bra as i cannot bear the thought of the sore- sickness in the warmer(!?) weather.

Sorry, feeling a bit self pitying today!

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 30/03/2013 10:06

Where can I get a bra to give me a 1950s style uplift...... 32F

StatisticallyChallenged · 30/03/2013 11:05

tatyr I am beginning to feel like an Ewa Michalak advert but they may be an option for you to consider. They have this in a 32KK which does seem to be as high as they go in a 32 back. I don't know how they would compare sizewise to the royce, but I have this bra and take one cup size lower than I do in the Bravissimo Alana (which I am sure you will have tried!)

(they do others too but they are special order where as this one is in stock). I believe they can also put nursing clips on most of their bras as a special request (I think this costs an extra 20 zl which is about a fiver!)

They also do this nursing bra. They have a 34KK listed which would be the equivalent cup size to a 32L roughly so they could probably make it in a 32L I would expect.

StatisticallyChallenged · 30/03/2013 11:07

amothersplace - are you looking for quite a pointy style? If you want full on retro there is a company called WhatKatieDid (they use retro sizing so you might find you need to change sizes) or if you want slightly less severe I find quite a lot of the Bravissimo own brand bras veer to the point end of the spectrum. Have you tried the Betsy Bow or even the Alana? Some Freya bras are that way inclined too

winterdays · 30/03/2013 12:08

Desperate plea for help. I need a comfortable bra so badly. Currently I don't wear a bra unless on a night out. I wear loose shapeless clothes. I don't care what it looks like as long as its comfortable. I have just measured myself 31 1/2 inches under breast. 37 over. Wide spaced breasts. Broad back narrow front. Long body. 5 foot 8 inches. Generally slim. Currently buying. 36 b. I have a touch of eczema and sensitive breasts. Please please help

EMUZ · 30/03/2013 12:14

winter - I would try a 30E, 32DD, 32E
You could also try a 30DD but I think the cup would probably be too small

EMUZ · 30/03/2013 12:15

And with comfy - trial and error I guess. I'd maybe look for a high cotton content with the eczema but you might find slight padding more comfy if you are sensitive as a bit of a barrier

winterdays · 30/03/2013 12:20

Will do kept buying bigger in the band - thought I was very small but know think its because they are so wide apart

EMUZ · 30/03/2013 12:24

You will probably find it more comfortable as it won't move or rub. Look for flat seams, and a smooth inner probably no lace Smile

winterdays · 30/03/2013 12:24

Do you think a soft maternity bra would be any good -any thing must look better than shapeless tops

EMUZ · 30/03/2013 12:35

I wouldn't .. You could look at non wired? The Freya deco is a nice non wired one but tbh anybody over a B/C really needs wires

StatisticallyChallenged · 30/03/2013 12:35

You probably won't need to go that far. You might find that underwires aren't actually that bad once you have ones that fit as they won't move around much. I'm guessing it's the friction and rubbing that will cause more issues than the presence of the wire itself.

There are however some decent soft cups if you feel it is necessary - there is a soft cup version of the Freya Deco for example - but I would do some trying on first.

EMUZ · 30/03/2013 12:37

Statistically - great minds

winterdays · 30/03/2013 12:38

Although I'm older 46 the doctor said my breast are quite dense so will try Freya. Your right it is the rubbing and yanking it down that's driving me mad
