All of the other ones are closed now and I still need some help!

To be fair, I was really happy with her help. She really gave some thought to my sticky out rib problem and tried to give advice that would be right as well as have a flattering end result. Guess my mission now is to go on a massive trying on spree in various stores to find the right bras.

StatisticallyChallenged · 22/03/2013 17:48

she sounds great-I did mean that.

OneLittleLady · 22/03/2013 17:52

I know, I just can't stop raving about her she was that good Smile

Silverstar2 · 22/03/2013 20:50

Glad you had some success OneLittleLady, good luck now with the trying on.

Lets hope that M and S lady talks to her firends at work and puts them straight!

OneLittleLady · 22/03/2013 20:58

Let's hope so. I was very impressed by her especially given the awful experiences I had the day before in other stores.

I've noticed lots of bargainous Untold E+ bras at House of Fraser which may be of interest to some of you? They start at a 32 though so no good for me Sad

NorbertDentressangle · 23/03/2013 10:18

Hello everyone.

After a MN meet-up last night a few of us were pointed in the direction of this thread (thankyou furball and CMOT Smile).

I've just measured and I'm 32/40

From skim reading the first thread, am I right in thinking this makes me a 32FF?

EggwiniasRevenge · 23/03/2013 10:23

Hmmm...I have visions of the meetup...

MN1: what size bra are you wearing?
Mn2: 36...
MN1: Thats wrong. Whips.out tape measure..

Mn1: what size bra are you wearing?
Mn3: 34...
Mn1 gets out tape measure and asks mn3 to bend over and dangle free
Mn3 runs away ...

:o :o :o

Hello! Coming a bit late to this party and have a rather pressing bra question.

Right, so am a size 8 and have been measured all my life as a 34A. Can see now that my bras have never fit. Got measured for a breastfeeding bra last year and the lady in the boutique put me in a seamless 32C which was fine. I later bought a 32C Hotmilk underwired bra and wow, really felt the difference in support and overall hoickiness.

Now I've stopped breastfeeding (4 weeks ago) and have obviously shrank a LOT. I'm getting married in May and need to figure out what bra size I will be to see whether I need to get my dress taken in or not iykwim? As in I may not need to if I have the right bra?

Just measured. If I was doing it right, it came up as 28 (!) underboob and 32 over. Is that really a 28 D?! Or should I try a 30C?

thank you a thousand time Flowers

HazleNutt · 23/03/2013 10:35

I'd start with 28D, Curtsey.
Size 8 in a 34 bra - you can probably wrap it around you twice! Grin

Curtsey · 23/03/2013 10:38

Really, Hazle, you reckon that sounds about right? Should I leave it another few weeks before I try, do you think, to see if my post-bfing boobage changes again?

HazleNutt · 23/03/2013 11:04

different brands and models fit differently, but sizes around 28D should fit, yes. Sorry don't know how the boobs might behave after breastfeeding, but you wouldn't want to be in the wrong size til May. Maybe try to find something cheaper for now and see if the size changes?

NorbertDentressangle · 23/03/2013 11:05

EggwiniasRevenge -thats uncanny. Were you on the next table? Hmm

Jefferson · 23/03/2013 11:49

Hi
Hoping someone can help. I was a 34B pre pregnancy and have been finding it a nightmare to find a bra now with saggy breasts!! I've been measured at 34DD, 36D, 32DD and I just don't know which is right

I've just measured myself and its come out as 30 under bust ( I'm lifting my saggy boobs and putting tape measure under them. Is that right?!) and 36 over them.
Thanks!

Furball · 23/03/2013 11:53

jefferson - you measure under the bust - so round your ribcage

then lean forward at 90 degrees and then measure round the actual boob area

as per info here - diagram half way down the page

Jefferson · 23/03/2013 12:21

Ok great. Thanks

So still 30 under and 36/7 over

SorrelForbes · 23/03/2013 12:52

Jefferson. Try a 30E or 30F as a starting point

Furball · 23/03/2013 13:11

sorrel - what would norberts 32/40 be?

StatisticallyChallenged · 23/03/2013 13:48

Norberts try 32FF

NorbertDentressangle · 23/03/2013 16:15

Thank you. Can't wait to go and try a 32FF bra now.

MrsHelsBels74 · 23/03/2013 18:57

I'm gutted, wrote a long post about my experiences & it didn't appear for some reason...will try again!

Went to Debenhams, didn't bother getting measured just thought I'd sort myself out. Started out with a 34 band which still gave me a lot of back fat. Tried a 32 band which, although I could get 2 fingers underneath it when back to front, there was no way I could turn it the right way round so I figured it was too tight!

Had major over spillage in an E cup so tried an F (in a T shirt bra style). Have a little bit of a gap right at the very top where it meets the shoulder strap, plus I have to rescoop every so often...is this normal?

I was gutted though as there was a really pretty bra I loved but every single cup size I tried there was overspill at the seam where the cup was trimmed with lace.

After despondently looking at my post 2 pregnancies tummy I'd had enough & gave up the search. I bought the T shirt bras & they definitely lift my knorks but still not convinced I've got it quite right Confused

HazleNutt · 23/03/2013 18:59

No bra is not too small because you can't turn it around. You're not supposed to turn them, just hook up the right way.

Overspill means that cup is too small.

StatisticallyChallenged · 23/03/2013 19:00

MrsHels - I'd struggle to turn one of my bras round. I have to put them on the right way round. It's difficult to spin a well fitting bra.

When you first start, rescooping every so often is normal. However - scooping only works if the band is firm enough to keep it in place.. I'm guessing you went with the 34?

The slight gap at the top is pretty common with moulded cups as they just don't fit to your breast the same way as unpadded ones do.

MrsHelsBels74 · 23/03/2013 19:18

But I'm not flexible enough to be able to do my bra up at the back...I belong to the old school of 'do it up at the front & turn it round' Hmm

Selvedge · 23/03/2013 23:06

Hello bra experts. I love my new 32e bra from John Lewis, but I have had to take it off now (after 12 hours) as it has really started to hurt me. It has caused a bruise type lump between boobs. I read on a previous thread that leaving red marks is normal but surely not pain! It feels like it fits in all the ways described so far... Please help!
