Flicking through Grazia which arrived today because my ex-boyfriend has clearly not realised he's still paying the subscription which just renewed.

WTF is 'a knit'? Is it a jumper? A cardi? A sleeveless top? Or is the only thing that matters the fact that it was 'a Celine knit'?

While I'm on the subject, what is 'a trouser'?? Just one leg?

Freddie they love Mary Portas because she's married to one of their senior staff. They coo over her tacky overpriced collections. Collections is a bit wanky too isn't it.

I do like Cara and her onesie though.

CalamityKate · 20/02/2013 20:06

The phrase "A piece" when used to describe either an item of clothing or some bit of tat someone's trying to flog via FB makes me actually cringe.

Mendi · 20/02/2013 20:20

It's never just 'a piece' though is it? It's always 'an investment piece' .

And to the statement brow person up-thread - Cara definitely rocks a statement brow. Just the one. With shaved bit in the middle.

Ooh me, me... 'Oh so now'... that one is really annoying, more than the fashion singular

Bessie123 · 20/02/2013 20:54

Cara Delavigne seems to me like a very average silly teenager. That is what made me realise I'm getting old. I am, however, rocking the bang on trend Worzel Gummidge look

Mirage · 20/02/2013 21:16

Bloody Hell,I'm glad that the only magazine I read is Horse & Hound.I'd explode if I had to read fashion or style mags.Shock

fossil971 · 20/02/2013 21:20

Last winter's (I mean season's) magazines were full of "Peter Pan collars are having a fashion moment"

Saying "Having a moment" is clearly having a moment, I hope the moment has passed now.

Cubtrouble · 20/02/2013 21:26

Boyfriend jeans!! My favourite! Why do they actually sell boyfriend jeans or should that be jean?
Surely the whole point of boyfriend jeans is that you steal them from your boyfriend?

I'm currently "rocking a vintage husband fleece" it's fab and pops nicely with my colour blocking baggy pant.

Do NOT get me started on a onesie.

Cubtrouble · 20/02/2013 21:27

Cara needs a brow pluck too.

Suchabody · 20/02/2013 21:46

Cubtrouble I can nearly match your vintage husband fleece. I am currently rocking the maroon slanket look. In fact, totally nailing it, as it's teamed with a bang on trend zing-pop-tastic and oh-so-supercute neon slipper.

Arseholes.

Bessie123 · 20/02/2013 21:56

Cara makes her eyebrows look like that on purpose with make up. She must like a strong brow.

Lol suchabody!! We also have said maroon slanket. Got to love a slanket, they are SO "in season".

My townie fashionista (raised brow face) sister used to comment on the amount of man made fibers me and my husband wore, ie, fleeces. Stole a march on my ironing pile though didn't I.

I nearly fainted when I saw a maternity top I'd been given was dry clean only!!!!!! WHO the hell invents a dry clean only maternity top. HELLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

RedPencils · 20/02/2013 22:30

Issima - see I always 'sport' a messy up do, sadly it's not Cool messy, it's just messy. Not quite sure where I'm going wrong

So how old does something have to be vintage?

BOF · 20/02/2013 22:52

I still can't work out AW13...

freddiefrog · 20/02/2013 23:20

AW13 - Autumn/Winter 2013 isn't it?

soaccidentprone · 20/02/2013 23:32

yes, I came to the conclusion that AW13 must stand for Autumn Winter 2013Grin

wildfig · 20/02/2013 23:32

Also, 'cruisewear'. Where are you supposed to wear it? And when? And how many people do fashion designers imagine go on cruises? Whenever I hear 'cruisewear' I imagine fashionistas teaming a cerise kaftan with a luxe orthopedic sandal and 'walking' up and down a gin palace full of Miami golden girls.

BlackSwan · 20/02/2013 23:39

I hate the names items get. Every designer now has a 'cady' skirt or dress (I internet shop too much and I have noticed this). The term 'cady' doesn't indicate anything to do with the style or shape of the dress/skirt (unlike A-line for eg). It's just a dumb name.

Peplum also annoys me.

stickylittlefingers · 20/02/2013 23:43

you could call it a valance instead Blackswan?

BOF · 20/02/2013 23:50

Ahhh . Thanks!

Internationaltraveller · 20/02/2013 23:53

I once went into H&M and asked for an Obi Belt Blush as they were having a moment. The sales assistant thought I was nuts! (I have since stopped reading most fashion magazines.)
I like to think I'm 'bang on trend' at the moment as I am wearing pajama trousers which have recently been having a moment as going out wear. If I wanted to go out in my PJs I just would thank you, not spend 150 quid on a pair of designer ones.

Frizzbonce · 20/02/2013 23:53

I'm a size 8 but I've got 'curves'. I'm 'womanly and I have a tummy'.

Oh and there's Alexa Chung resembling an explosion in a jumble sale and standing in that pigeon-toed 'I'm just a widdle girl' pose. She is SO fashion forward.

'Hair this season is very sexy very now a kind of laid back Renaissance baroque luxe' says bald hairdresser.

Internationaltraveller · 20/02/2013 23:55

please can we also explore shoes. Pointy shoes are back! flats are back! they never went away surely?

Cubtrouble · 20/02/2013 23:56

A valance! Rrraaaaahahahaha perfect! Peplum, bloody everywhere.

The worst has got to be the low rise jean. With all your muffin top hanging over. On trend that

And jumpsuits. Ridiculous

Oversized clutch
The word tote. Tote bugs me a lot.
Oversized tote

And runway. It's not a runway, no one takes off. At most it's a taxi way. Lol
