Flicking through Grazia which arrived today because my ex-boyfriend has clearly not realised he's still paying the subscription which just renewed.

WTF is 'a knit'? Is it a jumper? A cardi? A sleeveless top? Or is the only thing that matters the fact that it was 'a Celine knit'?

While I'm on the subject, what is 'a trouser'?? Just one leg?

I am currently sporting a twosie, a trouser and a knit thrown together over a 'bod' which will no doubt be called upon to 'spring into detox' in order to get 'bikini ready' so I can rock my abs on Richard Branson's Island later in the year.

In the meantime I will be 'piling on supersize chic layers and a pair of killing, sorry killer, heals to walk the dog (who will sit in my Mulbury Cara, Alexa, Captain Ahura hand bag). Caio x

When I was a single girl in my 20's an worked in city centre I often used to go out straight after work. We used to take going out clothes and get ready in the loos all afternoon just after work. Why would you go out in your normal office clothes?

I'm no fashionista but I LOVE fashion speak just because the language is entertaining.
The exception for me is "piece" and "investment dressing" which are overdone and quite w@ank imo
As for "channelling" - do you guys not channel other people on a daily basis, be it about clothes or language or attitude etc? Are you just yourself, ALL DAY?

What about 'ditsy' ?? When - and why - did it stop meaning 'endearingly scatter-brained or eccentric' (describing a person) and start to be used for fabrics featuring lots of small flowers? As in 'a ditsy print'.

And why is it used ALL THE TIME....? For any small pattern, on anything, it seems.

I cannot stand the term "curated" being used in fashion. Unless you are putting together an exhibition for the V&A, you just bought stuff.

'sourced from' - I loathe that term about anything. I saw a thread on here talking about Christmas presents and someone was talking about sourcing lego. ffs you can buy it in Asda.
Now, if you've taken the trouble to track down a Himalayn goat herd, bartered for its wool and then tracked down a Nepalese weaver to hand tie your rug, I'll give you 'sourcing'. Not if you've just spent half an hour on the internet and buying a rug from a shop in Birmingham.

The obvious response to Meryl/Miranda's "put down" is "so fucking what." choosing sweaters for people isn't power. It's just choosing sweaters. i do it for my kids every day. Only morons think this is matters. I like to look nice as much as anyone, but "fashion people" thinking they're important make me laugh.
