Time to call in some bra favours!

Ok, Florida in 5 weeks and I have no swimwear. I would really like a new bikini. Preferable 50s style, halterneck, underwired (needs to be for these 30G/GGs) and big pants (size 12) (although will consider tie sides).

I've seen this on Bravissimo but it's a bit meh.

SorrelForbes please do come back and update us if she responds to your lesson on bra measuring. I could feel my blood pressure rising as I read her reply!

and then give us a link to her page so that dozens of us can send her requests for G cups and then explain to her how sizing works

I notice you said it's for Florida, is it for visits to the water parks? If so I'd suggest a swimming costume over a bikini. You come off a fair few of the slides at such a speed that accidental flashing is a very real risk! I'm a 28FF (with size 12 hips) and finding a costume that fitted and was still moderately flattering was a nightmare. I'd still have to go down the slides with my arms crossed over my norks to prevent giving the lifeguards (and occasional gathering of hopeful young boys) an eyeful, there's no way I could have entrusted the job of preserving my modesty to a bikini!

treaclesoda No reply as yet!

LtheWife Nope, it's definitely just for lazing by the pool/on the beach and some gentle splashing around. I hate heights and slides etc so will be having a lovely day by the pool with my kindle and a few G&Ts whilst DH and DSC spend a day at a water park! Good point though and I will mention it to DSD as she's not small of chest!

This with the halter strap on. Just in case you need another option.

SorrelForbes · 15/02/2013 22:44

Thanks, that looks nice (wish they had put the model in the correct size though!)

Figleaves are terrible for models in wrong sizes aren't they. It's so offputting.

HazleNutt · 16/02/2013 13:39

Sorrel, but what about tan lines? I love halternecks, they're indeed cute and supportive, but the straps leave tan lines exactly where you don't want them and you'll look funny in all tops. Or at least I do. Bandeau with removable halter strap for extra support would be a good option indeed.

HN - I find that the ones with the wide straps usually are seen on so that you can tie them around th back whilst sun bathing. I usually forget though and get some cracking tan lines!
