Time to call in some bra favours!

Ok, Florida in 5 weeks and I have no swimwear. I would really like a new bikini. Preferable 50s style, halterneck, underwired (needs to be for these 30G/GGs) and big pants (size 12) (although will consider tie sides).

I've seen this on Bravissimo but it's a bit meh.

The M&S only starts at a 32 back and again is a plunge style.

Thanks all for the suggestions!

Panache do a variant on this every year. I haven't managed to find a 30g yet 9lots listed on ebay etc) but I have had one before and found the sizing wasn't quite normal. I quite often go up a back in bikinis too (need to balance support with under bikini bulges!)

StatisticallyChallenged · 14/02/2013 18:31

Also:

this is available on Ebay, have had the fold side pants before and they are nice

StatisticallyChallenged · 14/02/2013 18:35

freya also comes in black
panache again

Aghhhh, here's the response I got from the Etsy seller:

*Hi

According to your measurements, your bra size is 34DD , which would be a modified Medium, in the Lola top.

It's estimated that as many as, 85% of women are wearing the wrong bra size! If you have been professionally fitted, for bra size in the past 6 months and were told that was your size, then I don't know what to think?

Please retake the measurements. Exhale before taking the lower one( take with out your bra on) and make sure the tape is above your bust on the upper one.*

I have sent her a link to some bra blogs about measuring!!

StatisticallyChallenged · 14/02/2013 19:30

Grr re Etsy seller.

Responses?

"I think that you are clueless"

Too harsh??

"Please come in to the 21st century, we have elastic here?"

Mumelie · 14/02/2013 19:32

Oh I'm the same size as you and just started the great bikini hunt!

This is nice Panache BIG PANTS

And totally love the colour of this

Really interesting links coming up!

AgathaF · 15/02/2013 12:29

It's estimated that as many as, 85% of women are wearing the wrong bra size! - yes, that would be because of people like you, you chump!

I can imagine Sorrel feverishly firing off an email reply Grin

soaccidentprone · 15/02/2013 16:12

I've managed to find loads in a 32f, but a 30g is very illusive (as you already know)

I found this which I love and is very stretchy (but not a bikini)

Freya

not sure if this has already been posted? but it's the right size and halter neck

this

or this?

a bargain if you want something plain?

if you can't find one you like in your size could you buy the size up and take it in ie a 32f or g?

I can sew if you want me to do it. I have only made bridal, bridesmaid and fancy dress costumes recently.

SorrelForbes · 15/02/2013 16:40

I sent a fairly measure reply, considering...

Thanks for the links everyone. With 5 weeks to go I'm going to have to order something! The Panache one that SC linked to is perfect but sadly I can't find it in my size (or a close size that could be altered to fit).

I think I'm going to order this Freya one (another link from SC) but I can sort of already picture how the top is going to look and I don't think it'll fit right (no Freya bras do). I think the straps come from further in along the top of the cup than is like which will probably result in bulge! But you never know...

I think I'll also order the Boux Ave one from the top of the thread.

Thanks again everyone for the suggestions. Much appreciated.

lovely but £££

StatisticallyChallenged · 15/02/2013 17:33

Sorrel, could a 32FF work? If so...I think a 70ff is the equivalent and available here

they ship worldwide...

NotAQueef · 15/02/2013 17:42

Not sure if you are still looking or if this is even the kind of thing you're looking for

NotAQueef · 15/02/2013 17:44

just in case

SorrelForbes · 15/02/2013 18:10

Thanks all. I have now ordered the panache balconette (thanks SC. Will order pants later from Amazon if the top fits!) and the Hoola one. Fingers crossed for a good fit!
