I hope that someone might help with mine... how on earth does one pronounce Space NK please? I was going to ask in the shop, but the man in the blue eyeshadow is too scary Blush

  1. when I use eyeliner along the top of my upper lashes, I can never get it close enough. There always seems to be a gap between lash and line. Is it because my eyelashes are pale and sparse? I've tried and tried. Can't get them to merge

  2. am I the only person who feels more clammy and sticky Down There ¥ when hair free?

thenightsky · 03/02/2013 20:19

OneHundred You have just asked the two questions I was going to!

Especially the eye liner one. I always end up with what looks like a pink bit of skin between liner and lashes. I've even got a professional make up person to do me and it still looked awful.

FlickSticks · 03/02/2013 20:20

cocolepew -

Spots on the chin and around the jaw line tend to be hormonal or because you're run down.

abbyfromoz -

Use washing up liquid with moisturiser in it & olive oil is great for dry skin!

OneHundredSecondsofSolitude -

  1. try using a sharper pencil, some come with a soft tip on the opposite end which you can use to blend. Also hold the pencil above the eye and pointing slightly downwards to draw the line.
  1. Use talc!

Those wondering about too much make-up, try bare minerals, get the person at the make up counter in debenhams to demo it, then buy on QVC because its cheaper. Is very subtle, but makes you look a bit polished iykwim. Primer stops your foundation disappearing.

When you go to get your legs waxed with really really hairy legs does the beautician judge? I'm soo hairy I put off going because I'm so embarrassed.

fuzzypicklehead · 03/02/2013 20:28

What the hell am I supposed to do with all the bumfluff on my face? It's easy enough to tweeze the 3 or 4 porcupine quills dark hairs that pop out above my upper lip. But the whole rest of my face is covered with fine, downy hair from cheekbones to neck. It makes makeup sit oddly on my face and I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with it. Can you wax your whole face? Should you wax your whole face?

FlickSticks · 03/02/2013 20:31

wonderstuff - you can't wax legs when the hair is too long, they will need to trim it, I would shave them a week before you go.

I always epilate now, I had shaved & waxed for years, then tried an IPL to banish hair for good (didn't work and was very expensive). Silk Epil is just the best way to remove hair.

fuzzypicklehead - you can get facial waxing strips but it will likely make your face quite red so try a small area first!

OneHundredSecondsofSolitude · 03/02/2013 20:31

I see people having their whole faces threaded in public in those chairs in department stores

I think fine all over hair is normal though innit?

If you start removing if where does it stop?. It's all over us afterAll

Wrigglebum · 03/02/2013 20:35

Avon hand cream is the best I've ever used and is really cheap so you can apply often.

FlickSticks · 03/02/2013 20:37

I have a question, sorry if this is TMI but how do you check for/get rid of blackheads on your back?!

fuzzypicklehead · 03/02/2013 20:40

It might be normal, but it feels like a lot! (also I've overheard someone comment on it once Blush)

It doesn't help that I'll occasionally get a wild & twisty hair somewhere on my face or neck that my OH notices before I do. He then creeps up and tries to pinch it out. It often happens in public places with fluorescent lighting...

cocolepew · 03/02/2013 20:43

Thanks I knew they could be hormonal but not the run down theory.

I'm on HRT (no ovaries), I wonder if it's that

fuzzypicklehead · 03/02/2013 20:59

FlickSticksIn my case, if OH spots one he would probably tackle me and squeeze it out. You're more than welcome to keep-- borrow him.

cafecito · 03/02/2013 21:01

fuzzy- you can get 'peach fuzz' or a lanugo-type of downy hair if you are very thin?

cafecito · 03/02/2013 21:03

but everyone has fine hair all over their face, it's really normal. yy you can get it threaded but I wouldn't really go for the all over threading thing- there are some new treatments if you are really bothered, but really it's probably fine.

Northumberlandlass · 03/02/2013 21:08

I have a fuzzy face, never dawned on me to do anything about it. Hair is fine & blonde/clear. I do have the odd thick black hair that sprouts out of my face/cheek/chin which I pluck

cafecito · 03/02/2013 21:20

I'm pretty sure most people have fuzzy faces

uggbug · 03/02/2013 21:20

After I had my daughter I had a lot of hair loss. This has now calmed down, but I now seem to just be gradually receding! Really nothing anyone else would notice but it is getting to me that the hair around my face is pretty sparse - it seems quite ageing. I'm taking vitamins and fish oil which doesn't seem to be having much effect. I've had blood tests so no iron/thyroid issues. Anyone else got this or any advice?

FlickSticks · 03/02/2013 21:26

uggbug - How long ago did you have your DD?

uggbug · 03/02/2013 21:30

A year ago! Hair did go back to normal for a bit but now just seems to be slowly thinning at the front...!

FlickSticks · 03/02/2013 21:32

Hair grows a lot faster in the Summer, maybe it was a double whammy, just as it was getting back on track we headed into Winter... ?

uggbug · 03/02/2013 21:34

Its weirdly just at the front though. Hoping not going the way of Morticia!

FlickSticks · 03/02/2013 21:37

I think hair is more sensitive at the front, I know mine is shorter here than the rest and tends to snap off here first if I get highlights

NigellaTufnel · 03/02/2013 21:42

For horrible hands try L'occitane and scrub. It may not be a long term solution but my hands felt like they did pre children for at least a day. And if was lovely and worth it.

AuntieMaggie · 03/02/2013 21:42

Fuzzy - I use DPs clippers to get rid of mine... i have short hair so i need to do my neck every couple of weeks too but I only do the sideburny bit you described. Clippering it is less obvious imo.

wonderstuff · 03/02/2013 21:44

I lost a patch of hair after I had dd, grew back when I fell pg with ds! Lost another patch a few months ago but is now growing back a bit. Seems no rhyme or reason to it.
