I hope that someone might help with mine... how on earth does one pronounce Space NK please? I was going to ask in the shop, but the man in the blue eyeshadow is too scary Blush

Quinn - you only see other women scrubbed up so you don't know how much effort they put in. I also have loads of facial and body hair, greasy skin (spots and wrinkles, fabulous look), broken veins etc. I shave and pluck various bits of me every day, even though I try to be brave and feminist about it. Some of those are PCOS symptoms in my case. But you do know that thin hair can be a hypothyroid symptom? Might be worth getting that checked.

I'd love to know how to get smooth, stubble free legs. Mine are stubbly immediately after shaving. The only way I've ever got them smooth was to turn the shower ti cold so all the hairs stand up, and then shave. It was horrid, I can't bring myself to do that again.

I'm also desperate for hair advice but no one has answered my thread :-(

I think the only way to have truly smooth legs is lasering. I too have a 5 o clock shadow after shaving and stubble within 5 hours. So annoying

I don't think my leg hair grows particularly fast, it's not coarse or dark, I think I'm just doing it wrong :(

Best shaving lubricant is hair conditioner. Try that and a decent blade (mens are better)

MrsPennyApple exfoliate your skin, with a body scrub or loofer, before you shave your legs, and alsways shave upwards with a decent razer. Agree with tak1ng about hair conditioner to shave with - I tried this the other day for the first time and it's fab.

I'd forgotten about Lipcote! May have to get some...

My question. What is primer? Is it like undercoat for foundation? And would it make much difference on my patchy skin?

Quinn - Lipcote - in Boots with the nails and lashes. Asda sell ittoo - same place.

Liberty Chick - use Gel polish. It doesn't dry until you put it under tha lamp so you can go over it as many times as you like with a brush without leaving any marks. Is self levelling too. Just do any clean up with cleanser before you cure it.

KristinaM - because it is less sweaty in summer and makes for better sex too

Amanda - hand cream at night - slather on then put cotton gloves on

Re armpit hair, I have had 5 IPL sessions and although not all gone yet, there are bald patches and the rest grows much more slowly

Thanks for the shaving tips. Thinking about it, I did get the best results when I used to use a Gillette Mach 3. I don't know why I stopped using that actually. Exfoliating beforehand is a new idea though, I willd efinitely try that.

Several questions from me:

I too never seem to get waxing to work - always either ingrowing hairs/growing back - it never seems perfect even when exfoliating all the time. Don't think my skin likes waxing. How do people get it to look perfect?

Secondly, how do people keep a perfect manicure - I chip it immediately so don't bother Smile

Scarves - I can't seem to wear them without them feeling as if they are going to strangle me or looking awful. How do people manage that relaxed scarf look - I love the idea but cannot get it right?

Kristina - it feels nice for sex as there is no hair between you and him iyswim. It can be a religious thing - in Islam men and women are meant to remove it but def. not in a waxing parlour!

re. scarves - the secret is in the scarf itself, not how you tie/drape it. It needs to have enough weight and body not to go all creased and limp. So it either needs to be reasonably heavy (or fine but big), or have some strong texture in the weave. Lots you see in the shops are actually too flimsy to look good for more than 10 minutes.

Thanks ggirl you were right - there's a tiny little sharpener and a smudger at the end - I had no idea they were there!

Iaintdun - Lisa Eldridge vid on pale foundations is good. Most pale ones have a pinky undertone but she recommends a Bourjois one which is pale with yellow tone(still too dark for me). Also a couple of white ones which you can mix with other foundations.

How to put my hair up. It's shoulder length, thick, and with growing out layers that fall out of bands and clips so I look like I've been through a hedge. I would love to put it up in that loose effortless clipped-up way rather than scraped back into a dull stubby pony tail. Is there a special haircut to have just the right amount to pin up with artistic bits left around the face?

Exfoilate your armpits to make them smoother! It's then easier to get a closer shave.

Maybe not good if you have sensitive pits Grin

Washing your hair the night before:

I use the 3 Day Straight product on my hair at night and I get hardly any kinks when I wake up (I use it with and without straighteners), I also try and dry my hair as early at night as possible so it is completely dry (have lots of hair), as I find if I dry it then sleep my hair is worse than if it has time between drying and sleeping (if that makes sense).

fossil971 if your hair falls out of clips because it's very clean/silky, spray it with hairspray like Elnett first. Let it dry, run your fingers through it, clip it up and spray it again. It should then stay in place.
