Are these boots too 'man like'

In my continuing quest to develop a classic, capsule wardrobe I thought about getting http://www.harrods.com/product/wilson-leather-boot/kg-by-kurt-geiger/000000000002830236?cat1=bc-kg-by-kurt-geiger&cat2=bc-kg-by-kurt-geiger-for-her these . Do you think that they are too man like though?

I was thinking about wearing with thick black tights and skirts etc....

Yes they are vile. Sorry Grin

NotMostPeople · 17/01/2013 15:55

Well theya are but that could look great in the same way brogues can. However I wouldn't say they'd be a core part of a capsule wardrobe as core items need to go with lots of items and you'd be limited with these.

Rattitude · 17/01/2013 15:55

I wear similar shoes. Sorry, Valium Grin.

I try to buy narrow ones though as I think they look more feminine My feet are pretty narrow too. I typically wear mine with black skinny jeans.

Snort! Grin

adi82 · 17/01/2013 16:44

I like them, not my style but could look very interesting with something tight. Why not? Smile

carbondated · 17/01/2013 21:25

With the right outfit I think they'd look great with skirts/dresses/ skinnies and silk shirts etc. I wouldn't wear them as too old (52) and am not the right shape but I love them.

FreePeaceSweet · 17/01/2013 21:43

Ooh I think I like them. I'd wear with tapered trousers and like carbon says a silk shirt. I saw www.vivaladiva.com/shop/daniel-gallant-brogue/bj057/product/details/show.action?pdBoUid=6458#colour:Black,size:these when browsing the other day. I love how shiny they are. :o

Ooh just seen these too. Can't seem to find cheaper boots though. www.very.co.uk/clarks-hamble-oak-ladies-brogues---black/1174964592.prd?browseToken=%2fb%2f1589%2fq%2fbrogues

FreePeaceSweet · 17/01/2013 21:49

Its quite a severe look Jajas. I take my hat off to anyone who can pull it off. :o I like the style of brogues but at my size they would just look odd.

hope the links work this time Grin

soaccidentprone · 17/01/2013 23:10

ffs Blush

these

tigerdriverII · 17/01/2013 23:12

They look lovely but I think would be quite hard to wear successfully. Flat boots need very sharp dressing otherwise they look Greenham Common circa 1985. Particularly difficult with trousers unless you are v tall and v slim and they are v skinny. Nice with skirts and dresses but in the right setting - more school run than boardroom

ouryve · 17/01/2013 23:12

I don't know. Can boots be too man like? Is that a problem?

What matters is whether or not you like them. The design with holes in reminds me too much of shoes I wore as a kid in the 70s and 80s. That would be more of an issue for me than whether they looked man like.
