Need new skinny jeans - help needed

So as its the sales I thougt I would get a new pair of skinny jeans.

Currently own 1 pair from primark which are a size 16 and stay tight enough down the legs but are too loose around the waist meaning I can pull the down without undoing them after having them on for half an hour

I also own 1 pair from next. Size 14. Forte nicley when I tried them on, they now go baggy all over and look like a sack after half an hour. I can also take these off without undoing them

I also own 1 pair from river island that are a size 14. For perfectly around the waist (if a little tight) and don't get as baggy down the legs.

So what I really want is a pair of skinny jeans that will fit around the waist and not get baggy down the legs. Does this mean I should be trying super skinny jeans?

By the way - I really don't think I would be able to fit into a pair of size 12's

Heard new look might be a good option - any experience with these?

I sympathise with your predicament.

Beaverfeaver · 04/01/2013 16:07

Hmmmm . Thanks?

I should have said empathise and look forward to the answer, although it will not come.

Beaverfeaver · 04/01/2013 16:17

Will it not come because onthe perfect pair doesn't exist or because people are unhelpful today? Confused

SirEdmundFrillary · 04/01/2013 16:20

Because the perfect pair doesn't exist:)

Beaverfeaver · 04/01/2013 16:23

Oh, that makes me sad.
I still really love my boot cuts so think I will just rock those!

Have a look at Uniqlo. Very cheap, especially in the sale and good quality. Very long though.

Nabootique · 04/01/2013 16:25

I bought a pair on Jist jeans about 5 years ago and they are still going strong! They do some pretty outlandish prints, but they also do plain black, which are the ones I have. Not sure if they do blue denim though, if that was what you were looking for.

PoppyWearer · 04/01/2013 16:25

M&S jeggings?

101handbags · 04/01/2013 16:27

Next - sexy high waist skinnies.

SirEdmundFrillary · 04/01/2013 16:34

Oh fuck you all. I have just spent half a fucking hour trying to compose a helpful nothing. Wear, as I believe I've said befofre, whatever the hell you like. The emphSIS being on what YOU LIKE. Apologies fort the intemperate use of caps.

Beaverfeaver · 04/01/2013 16:35

101handbags - doe their high waisted ones not go as baggy?

Poppy wearer- will jeggings show up more lumps?

Is it worth me looking at Levi's Curve and spending extra?

Also - when jeans are described as coated - what does this mean exactly? I thought it meant leather look, but I've also seen these sidebu side on the same Internet shops and they aren't the same but pictures not clear enough to see

Levis curve are great. I have them in skinny and slim leg. It is nice to be able to wear jeans with no belt. I have just got a new pair in the sales which were £45 so they aren't that expensive.

HoneyDragon · 04/01/2013 16:40

There are no perfect jeans. The best I can do is Sainsburys. They don't go baggy at the knee but they do stretch at the waist a bit.

AmandaPayne · 04/01/2013 16:43

I hated Levi skinny when I tried them on. Didn't do anything for me. I love Uniqlo though. They have a lot of lycra, so you might be able to take them off without undoing them, but only in the same way you would a legging, not in the sense that they've gone baggy.

WaspFactory · 04/01/2013 16:47

Be careful, news just in....

The number of injuries perpetrated by trousers on their wearers in 2002 - the last year for which such figures were collated by the Home Accident Surveillance System - stood at 5310, while putting on socks, tights or stockings saw 11,788 people taken to hospital. Falls caused by getting stuck during an over-hasty attempt to get dressed were mainly responsible, with trips in messy bedrooms close behind.

So, think on.

FellowshipOfFineFellows · 04/01/2013 17:02

I bought on a whim a pair of H! Henry Holland skinny jeans from EBay. They are brilliant!

Wash well, keep their shape, no bagging of knees or waist, can be bunged in the tumble dryer.

Really soft denim too.

Worse pair I bought were from Asda. They went bobbly and can get them off without undoing. They are also really long too.
Not a fan of Primark either- shiny material and too clingy everywhere.

PoppyWearer · 04/01/2013 17:04

OP, they call them jeggings but are skinny jeans really.

The coloured ones are buggier but the denim ones great.

PoppyWearer · 04/01/2013 17:04

Baggier not buggier!

(Interesting correction, iPad!)

brighthair · 04/01/2013 17:45

I also have m&s 5 pocket jeggings (have indigo denim and fabric navy) and I love them
Bargain price too and they are like skinny jeans

AmazingDisgrace · 04/01/2013 20:02

Asos high waisted super skinnies are ace and could be what you're looking for?

CockBollocks · 04/01/2013 20:12

I have these, they have not gone baggy at all.

lift & shape

lljkk · 04/01/2013 20:13

Another vote for the high waisted curvy range at Next, LIft & Slim or some such, but make sure it's the high waisted ones.

I suspect that 99% women need "high" waisted jeans. Gawd knows why only 1% of jeans on offer are remotely high-waisted.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 04/01/2013 20:13

I really like the M&S ones in dark indigo and black. I've also just bought a pair of Topshop high waisted ones which I'm so far pleased with - they are very skinny but have a lovely high waist (to my belly button!). They were £25 in the sale - I think they are called Jamie. They are supposed to be slightly cropped but I am a short arse, so they are fine on me,

BreakOutTheKaraoke · 04/01/2013 20:23

Oasis Cherry Jeans. I am pear shaped, these are a bit higher so fit nicely on the waist, nipping in a bit, but still skinny. Come in lots of lovely colours- I have indigo and burgundy in a slightly cropped length (5"7, ankle length), or the red in the full length. I want forest green next I think.
