I am going for 15h

OP posts:
Northernlurker · 17/12/2012 16:58

Yes the colour was nice and it felty very soft. The ribbons just looked all wrong on me and also i suspect they will pull out shape if you're not careful. Ok to keep for best though.

polyhymnia · 17/12/2012 22:19

Thanks for the feedback. Do like the colour. May just wait to see if goes down further.

polyhymnia · 17/12/2012 22:26

PS northernlurker - another question: on the Emma, do you wear it as a tunic or a dress? I did try it but being tall it seemed too short for a dress on me but a bit too long for a tunic. But am thinking of trying again now reduced.

Northernlurker · 17/12/2012 23:14

I'm 5ft 3 - it's a dress on me!

polyhymnia · 17/12/2012 23:39

Ah, I'm 5'9'' - hence the problem! Might contemplate having it shortened to be a tunic at sale prices, though. though not sure it would rewally work shape-wise as a tunic even then.

baahhumbug · 18/12/2012 11:09

Ordered yesterday the twist front jersey dress in grey pebble and a pair of leggings - hope they're as good as everyone says - for delivery today. Fingers crossed.

polyhymnia · 18/12/2012 16:35

I have that dress and really like it - hope it suits you too.
They don't seem to be doing leggings in their Spring range so a good idea to buy now.

baahhumbug · 18/12/2012 16:52

The parcel arrived! Dress is great and leggings fit well so am very pleased.

Lastyearsmodel · 18/12/2012 17:04

I'm cross. I ordered the Emma dress in grey in 2 sizes and was really excited about having something to wear for Christmas Day, even though I had to pay postage.

I look like a sack of potatoes in both sizes... and have just discovered I get to pay another £2.95 to return the sodding things. £7.95 for the privilege of looking like a sack of spuds.

I'm sure I've always had free returns before - am I imagining things?

dexter73 · 18/12/2012 17:12

You don't get free delivery or returns for sale items.

QuiteOldGal · 18/12/2012 17:17

I don't think there is ever free delivery and returns in the sale. I always keep all my unused free returns labels - much easier now they send 2 with each order, then I can use them at sale times. I've managed to accumulate quite a collection of them. Xmas Grin

Lastyearsmodel · 18/12/2012 17:40

Arse, didn't think of doing that, QuiteOldGal.

Bad memory, Dexter or I've never returned any sale items.

Still cross.

Northernlurker · 18/12/2012 18:15

Yes sorry - I keep the returns labels too for just this occasion.....Shame it didn't look nice on you. Did you let it hang for a bit before trying on? It comes out of teh packet quite oddly folded and the fabric doesn't sit well over the bust. If you hang it up for a bit and then try it on and pull down well over boobs it works much better.

dottyaboutstripes · 18/12/2012 18:47

I got my parcel, some trousers which I read about on here getting rave reviews. Awful on me, hated them. And a dress which turned out to be hideous.

twentythirteen · 18/12/2012 18:57

I ordered the Audrey dress, shudder, it looked awful. Perhaps a bit "sack of potatoes" actually. I ordered the green sort of one. It's going back. I did a second order, which unfortunately includes the Audrey dress in a smaller size and I already now know I will not like it, I wonder now if I'm actually going to like what I've ordered!

I've ordered their leggings before, they are soft and keep their colour but bobble a bit. Hope those who've ordered them enjoy them!

Lastyearsmodel · 18/12/2012 19:17

Northern - I really like the dress/tunic, just not on me it turns out. Seemed to be a lot of fabric sitting in all the wrong places at the front. Ah well.

Northernlurker · 18/12/2012 19:34

Yes! It does that till you let it hang a bit and then tell it where to go Grin

greyvix · 19/12/2012 00:16

Well, I have bought 2 dresses. I like the red one and will wear it to a friend's wedding. I don't know whether to keep the blue one in the same style; I would wear it to work. It actually looks purple and I am worried about being old and wearing purple! What should I do?

greyvix · 19/12/2012 00:17

I do not look like the model in it, but it is smart and flattering!

hattymattie · 19/12/2012 06:53

grevix please explain the problem with old and purple ...

dexter73 · 19/12/2012 07:52

hattymattie

hattymattie · 19/12/2012 07:54

dexter Grin - well obviously not with a red hat! I still don't understand the problem with purple - maybe I'm going to be just like her Hmm

Phaedra11 · 19/12/2012 08:18

I would wear purple but not to work.

The author of that poem is eighty now. I wonder if she's started wearing purple with red hats yet!

I am nervously awaiting my delivery of a Boden Martha dress. I ordered one with a small discount in the Autumn and loved the fabric, but thought it was too tight, too short and also too expensive for what it was. I have now ordered a longer, larger one with sixty per cent off and have my fingers firmly crossed.

yulebrynner · 19/12/2012 18:37

I have the navy martha dress and wear it often. Hope it works for you Phaedra11.

Waiting on the winter warmer in black and the archive print top also in black - reviews were fairly negative but I think it could realy work for me as a short-waisted clear winter.

Those items don't seem to be moving, but didn't want to wait for second markdowns. Perhaps I will live to regret that.

Save those free returns labels!

I have always been sure that poem is meant to indicate wearing purple hair.

twentythirteen · 19/12/2012 19:00

Greyvix I think that's an adorable dress. The black version reminds of soething the wife on Homeland would wear. And purple is fab, colour is fab, anytime, anywhere! (not that I have any, I'm just pro colour!)

I've got 4 dresses out of the sale and am returning 3. Not bad. That's work wardrobe sorted for the next little while.
