Week five \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=2350&threadid=159192\here} We are now on Week SIX.

Rules are:

Be as happy as possible. The odd night of booze and chocolate is fine
It's not a diet, it's trying to eat healthily and well, eat fruit and veg
Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
Some exercise, walking is fine
Use sunscreen at ALL TIMES
Take your make up off before bed
Get enough sleep, aim to be in bed by 10, 10.30 every night
Use handcream and join the horned hoof club on their thread if you have vile feet

Suzywong is Harvey from Fit Club and will pop in every now and again to say Good Luck to You but in her absence: Good Luck To You.

And there's a new one starting next week so for anyone who wants to wait until then (that'll be me then since I have a busy social week) you're most welcome.

Hope not Yoyo.
I do the cooking anyway and he likes my food.
He has been on a bit of a health kick himself (lots of gym sessions and avoiding the booze) so it will be interesting to compare notes.

I'm going back to Turkey for a month with him (where he works) but that is not why I want the St Tropez.Just feel I have been so grim and functional since ds (21 mths) was born and could do with a little frivolity.
Believe me,in ultra conservative eastern Turkey,I will not be flashing my arms and legs.

I fancy the personal shopper thing.
I thinkI'll do it when I get back from Turkey (assuming I can control myself with the fantastic food there.)

Gym again today. Decided that rock'n roll has the right tempo for running. Enjoyed a lot of Chuck Berry today.
Muesli,fruit and yoghurt
Steak sandwich
Fetta, avocado, tomato and quinoa salad with lemon and walnut oil

I think you should be resonsible for the new thread. You seem an efficient kind of galSmile

yoyo, i've been to personal shopper twice now and it was fab! not too pressured, she chose really flattering things and stuff i'd have never have tried on but looked great. would definitely recommend!

monkeytrousers · 07/04/2006 22:18

Does that mean my revenge thread is dead then? Come on, don't beat around the bush..sorry..lady Grin

Callmemadam · 07/04/2006 23:26

Granarybeck - where is your personal shopper, and is it expensive? I really fancy the idea but I'm not sure where to find one....

yoyo · 08/04/2006 09:04

Moondog - frivolity sounds good to me. I was in Brent Cross yesterday looking at "younger" clothes and realised that I have got into a very "mumsy" rut and am longing to try something different. I have had my hair cut shorter and it looks good (better still my hairdresser asked if I'd lost weight!) so a small step in the right direction.

Granarybeck - which personal shopper did you use. I am tempted to book Selfridges and John Lewis on the same day and think it would be an incentive if I booked it now. Is there really no pressure to buy?

I am going to see Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo today. It is supposed to be fantastic so am really excited. DH is off to the Science Museum with DS (think I have got the easier deal here!).

suzywong · 08/04/2006 09:23

Good for you yo-yo!

Shorter hair is deffo the go you know, knocked about 4 or 5 years off me, plus a few subtle streaks that I have now covered with henna

FWIW, I bought my first pair of "Skinny" jeans today - oh yes, ladies they were a size 10 (strecth though) and frankly I don't see what all the fuss is about, and I do not like the way the lower edges of the back pockets are on my upper back thighs, what's that all about?

moondog · 08/04/2006 21:07

yoyo, have read so many reviews of that ballet company.
Sounds wacky and great fun.
SW,not convinced on the skinny jean front.I don't think they do anyone's figure (regardless of size) any favours.
Don't like that cling-to-the-calf look.

Have cleaned my house so it is sparkly clean and welcoming for beloved's return.
NOw I await,in my silk negligee, cocktail in hand,a heady perfume emanating from my pulse points.......

Er..make that my £4 fleecy Ethel Austen pyjames, cup of tea and Eau do cheapo moisturiser.

granarybeck · 08/04/2006 22:04

yoyo, callmemadam, went to personal shopper at kendals. My dh had booked it for my birthday last summer but was so good went back this autumn for winter stuff. The service itself is free. Kendals was good as they have so many different brands inside and such a range of prices. I thought i would find it a bit'embarassing' but it was a really fun day and have had loads of wear out of what i bought.

yoyo · 08/04/2006 22:21

The Trocks were fantastic. Brilliant fun but also exceptionally talented. I feel exhilerated and my DDs have talked about nothing else (they had no idea what they were going to see). It was their last performance today and their encore exuded fun and laughter - sheer enjoyment!!

We went to Borough Market too so have had a superlative day (I was very restrained but can get excited just watching a skilled fishmonger gut fish so was in heaven today).

DS was an angel for DH in the Museum - he was apparently very animated about the rockets and trains. He has been asking all about forces as they made little model cars.

And best of all my Gran has survived an operation that she was given only a 50% chance of getting through and is doing so well that she may be home on Tuesday. What a **ing fantastic day! I will dance my way to bed tonight!!
