Week five \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=2350&threadid=159192\here} We are now on Week SIX.

Rules are:

Be as happy as possible. The odd night of booze and chocolate is fine
It's not a diet, it's trying to eat healthily and well, eat fruit and veg
Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
Some exercise, walking is fine
Use sunscreen at ALL TIMES
Take your make up off before bed
Get enough sleep, aim to be in bed by 10, 10.30 every night
Use handcream and join the horned hoof club on their thread if you have vile feet

Suzywong is Harvey from Fit Club and will pop in every now and again to say Good Luck to You but in her absence: Good Luck To You.

And there's a new one starting next week so for anyone who wants to wait until then (that'll be me then since I have a busy social week) you're most welcome.

OK well as per my weekend water consumpton went down - to very little, and my wine consumption - rose to a bottle :)

However another 2.5 lbs off this week.

Last week I did one gym session, 2 x davina dvd's and one swim (1/2 mile) Madame Suzy :)

Today I did one gym session, power walking with weigts and HUGE inclines. Tomorrow it's circuit training class, and Friday gym again I suppose.

I am still remembering to do my face 'most' nights, hand cream when I read this thread! but I do need to sort out my toes :)

motherinferior · 04/04/2006 10:00

Well, I have breakfasted today on a piece of toast with hummus and tomato juice...and then, er, two croissants with apricot compote.

In my defence, I swam 60 lengths in between those two episodes, though.

Do last night's praline mini-eggs count, as there were only two left?

motherinferior · 04/04/2006 10:03

Scummy, that salad sounds delicious. Describe it, pray.

winnie · 04/04/2006 12:39

I need to go back to work and get away from the bread bin Blush

moonshine · 04/04/2006 14:21

Can I recommmend organising a cholesterol test(before which you cannot eat for at least 12 hours)and then locking the whole family out of the house, thereby necessitating calling a locksmith who will then keep you waiting and prevent you running straight to the hospital - I didn't eat for more than 18 hours and boy did I feel thin and wispy!

No alcohol last night, lots of water and not much else (probably not a healthy way to carry on, still...)

Mini-eggs are evil - stop buying them! .

Suzywong - how tall are you then?

motherinferior · 04/04/2006 14:27

I have ordered some Liz Earle stuff...this morning swimming is making me feel pretty good, I'm sorry to say. Why can't I feel just as good lolling around swigging beer?

suzywong · 04/04/2006 14:34

I am 173cm or nearly 5ft 8

TaiTai · 04/04/2006 21:32

Hi SuzyWong, I had some personal training a few years ago so I have an idea as to how much weight I can lift (or rather could, when I was a bit fitter). I'm feeling very self-satisfied as I've just been out for a run/walk - the first time I've done any running in over three years Shock. It's Day One of my training for my Race for Life 5k in July, and I completed the required exercise no probs- bit of a relief, but it was rather easy.

moondog · 04/04/2006 21:37

Well,am soldiering on despite being without fecking heating or hot water for four fecking days.
Lots of swimming (it's the only place where I can get a shower) with les enfants and the gym on Monday.
Still tweaking with my ultimate iPod playlist for running however.

Lots of spelt crackers, nuts and seeds.
Grilled steak and courgettes for dinner.
Finding popcorn hits the spot for those times when you need something to munch although it's a bugger trying to find it in its natural state.

Have a windowsill of sprouting chickpeas which look intriguing.
The proof of my pudding as it were, will be whether dh notices any difference in me on his return this w/end. He's been away for 5 weeks.

TaiTai · 04/04/2006 21:42

Hmm, that sounds like a good thread - ultimate ipod running playlist. I was planning on compiling mine this week....

moondog · 04/04/2006 21:43

Let us know what you choose or have in mind TT.

suzywong · 05/04/2006 01:29

Ahhhhh... 6 k bike ride along the river in glorious autumn sunshine

And a cheese and tomato ketchup sandwich for breakfast

crunchie · 05/04/2006 09:19

I am feeling truely smug as I sit here. I have already done a 2 mile run and fab spring morning sunshine :) It was lovely and killed 2 birds with one stone as the dog got a walk too!!

Blackduck · 05/04/2006 09:44

Okay I feel totally guilty - my exercise consists of walking (carrying a backpack with a laptop) about a mile each day and walking the dog - compared to you lot I am a LOSER....
Doing okay on the other stuff thou'....

motherinferior · 05/04/2006 10:05

Well, the croissants (to be accurate one croissant one pain au chocolat) continue, as DP is off with the kids and it's rather holidayish in the Inferiority Complex...

BUT I also continue not to drink and have done my 60 lengths today. Which is, for the record, four short of a mile.

moondog · 05/04/2006 10:29

I would have had to do the extra four MI,being the obsessive/compusive nutter that I am.

CountessDracula · 05/04/2006 10:33

I have changed quite a lot

Have been eating more healthily
Drinking less
drinking MUCH more water
going to bed earlier

I look like shite today though and haven't lost any weight

moondog · 05/04/2006 10:34

Refuse to believe it CD (that you haven't changed I mean).

CountessDracula · 05/04/2006 10:34

no no I have

Just still fat

moondog · 05/04/2006 10:34

Gah!
Rather that you are not now possessed of dewy complexion and sculptured body....

CountessDracula · 05/04/2006 10:35

i feel less wobbly flab wise

moondog · 05/04/2006 10:38

There you go then!

moonshine · 05/04/2006 11:31

Suzywong - you are positively sylph-like now.

I just haven't been able to get to the gym these past few days so have been gardening today (for the first time in my life! In my defence it is the first garden we have owned). Unfortunately ds is going through the tears and tantrums stage and drove me back indoors.

At the expense of proving my ignorance, what are spelt crackers?

winnie · 05/04/2006 11:56

I am on leave this week and in a 'holiday at home' mood. I've eaten too much bread & too many hot cross buns Blush (They were wholemeal and organic Grin) Also shared a bottle of white wine with husband last night Blush Blush BUT have dug over the vegetable patch and done lots of gardening & spring cleaning Smile

Have run out of handcream too Shock

Am now planning my studio so that is making me immensely happy :)

As is the beautiful weather :)

wwwnotreallyhere · 05/04/2006 12:05

am fat, frumpy, vile, vile, vile.
Will have to start again next Monday, another 6 weeks. Actually, someone will have to start it for me, I'll be movign that day.
