WWW's six week ten years younger plan, WEEK SIX

WideWebWitch · 03/04/2006 10:29

Week five \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=2350&threadid=159192\here} We are now on Week SIX.

Rules are:

Be as happy as possible. The odd night of booze and chocolate is fine
It's not a diet, it's trying to eat healthily and well, eat fruit and veg
Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
Some exercise, walking is fine
Use sunscreen at ALL TIMES
Take your make up off before bed
Get enough sleep, aim to be in bed by 10, 10.30 every night
Use handcream and join the horned hoof club on their thread if you have vile feet

Suzywong is Harvey from Fit Club and will pop in every now and again to say Good Luck to You but in her absence: Good Luck To You.

And there's a new one starting next week so for anyone who wants to wait until then (that'll be me then since I have a busy social week) you're most welcome.

WWW, you have had so much to deal with recently - moving (ycccch), jobs, etc. And no real routine to it all. Once you've moved, you can put Structure In Place, plan a walk to work if that floats your boat, and so on. Really.

moonshine · 05/04/2006 12:16

WWW - don't be so hard on yourself. New house, new job, new start. It'll much easier when the days are longer and warmer. I am pretending the last 6 weeks didn't happen and will start afresh with you next week Smile.

So that's no cake next Monday, then, Batters, eh?

I'm only trying to be supportive Grin.

Chandra · 05/04/2006 12:26

May I join, pleeaaseee?

I'm trying to get myself into a more healthy routine. I'm walking to work (30 min return trip, not sure if that's enough), have stoped eating carbs after 7, though I may change it to after 5 as somebody suggested in this thread. I would need to cut down in the coffee department though (at least two strong cafe lates per day).

And just to get myself to really do it, I have this thread as a witness that I have said "I'm going to do at least 30mins of pilates every third night".

I've done pretty well in cutting back on sweets/cakes etc by simply not having any in the house. DD (like her mum) has a massive sweet tooth, so I think in sheer desperation, convinced the babysitter that a good activity for yesterday afternoon would be to bake chocolate chip cookies. I can hear them calling to me from the kitchen....Wink

Sonnet · 05/04/2006 13:37

Did well yesterday - went swimming in am and a very fast walk while the DD's cycled in the afternoon.
Food good too...
today - erm , not so good. No exercise as yet, had pkt of crisps and a cake as it was a collegues birthday Blush Blush
must do better.......

Callmemadam · 05/04/2006 19:01

WWW you are NOT those things, you are an Essential Support in a challenging worldGrin. I have PMT. So I had no wine on Monday, (good)wine on Tuesday(bad) and fully intend to have wine tonight (V V Bad). Have also had a tuna roll on wholemeal, and am about to reheat last night's lentil cottage pie (don't ask!). Good marks awarded To Me By Me for making THE most fantastic Tiramisu as a alternative birthday cake for 15 year old and only licked a teaspoonful!!!

monkeytrousers · 05/04/2006 20:30

WWW, can the next thread be called 'WWW's 10 years younger - '6 weeks till your DH/P worries you might be leaving him' plan

This is my INSPIRATION! Grrrr!!

Blackduck · 06/04/2006 08:47

Bad week - wine every night thus far (okay only a glass Mon/Tues, but made up for it las night...) Good on the food front and have definately lost weight....I think I slipped so badly because a friend commented last Friday how good I looked and I got a bit too smug Grin
WWW good luck with the move and all that ...

motherinferior · 06/04/2006 10:07

I am running a nasty sore throat so didn't swim (had lie-in with DP while kids watched CBeebies instead, snurk). But please note this (drumroll): I went to a work do (first time in YEARS, literally) last night and turned down ALL opportunities to drink rather nice New Zealand fizz. Came home stone cold sober.

Am becoming Prudent and Cautious Bore.

winnie · 06/04/2006 10:18

I like the word 'prudent'

Well done MI for declining the fizz.
Hope the sore throat doesn't get any worse.

Made homemade pizza and chocolate cake yesterday with ds ... ate both... really felt sh*te this morning (as if I had hang over... which serve me right)...

Somehow think I will be starting again on Monday...

TaiTai · 06/04/2006 10:35

Went jogging again this morning, then came home and ate large and delicious almond croissant. Smile

Moondog, on the subject of running tracks, today I was liking "Filthy Gorgeous" by the Scissor Sisters, but tbh in order to get the most from the track you probably need to be running a lot faster than I was....

suzywong · 06/04/2006 10:45

hello Chandra Smile

well as of the weekend I shall be jogging 2 ks twice a week with ds1 while he's on his bike (he needs to unloosen his hamstrings and strenghten his glutes to correct a bit of pigeon toe-ing the physio tells me)
Tomorrow I am going back on the CSIRO diet in earnest which helped me loose 10 lbs/4.5 kilos in 5 weeks. If anyone is interested I shall be happy to give details - or would you all rather watch paint dry. Actually that's not fair as WWW said "no diets"

Good Luck To You

Blackduck · 06/04/2006 10:47

MI Why did you pass up the fizz?? Afraid you might embarass yourself Wink ?

TaiTai · 06/04/2006 10:50

suzywong, at the risk of sounding stupid, how do you measure how far you've run without being told that a route is eg. 2k, or measuring it by driving first? I've got a pedometer but as it's set up to measure my walking stride I don't know how accurate it will be in measuring my jogging distance. Thanks.

motherinferior · 06/04/2006 11:05

Blackduck, well, partly because I am realising much to my shock and horror that refraining from booze means I sleep much better; but also, yes, because otherwise I slurp down too much, lurch round the room and try and snog someone.

Or at least I used to. Then I got pregnant. These two things may, of course, be related Grin

WideWebWitch · 06/04/2006 11:27

panicking about moving so ate crap yesterday, whole ciabatta Shock for lunch, dipped in balsamic and olive oil, curry for supper, wine (but not much, no hangover), crap sleep as ds came in at 3am and I didn't get back to sleep til about 4.30am for worrying. I am trying to find someone who will connect broadband for me on Monday!

monkeytrousers · 06/04/2006 11:52

What's teh CSIRO diet, Suzy? Can veggies do it?

winnie · 06/04/2006 13:16

WWW, be nice to yourself and make the move as easy as possible... good luck with it :)

suzywong · 06/04/2006 15:09

tai tai, because the nice councils in my part of town mark the routes on the path, it's very exercise friendly here, there is a running/cycle route along the river bank

MT, well you can, but it is really geared for carnivores with 100g of lean meat protein a day, with fish twice a week. Can you eat that much tofu?

suzywong · 06/04/2006 15:13

oh, and can I just say

I AM NOW IN SIZE 10 TROUSERS

thank you

moonshine · 06/04/2006 15:59

I have a pair of size 10 trousers in my wardrobe - does that count?

SW - I would be interested in hearing about the diet as I am a carnivore through and through and really want to get back into said trousers (well done on achieving slimness).

And I shall try asking again - what are spelt crackers please??

suzywong · 06/04/2006 16:05

right then here's the link to the first week and the basic principles of the diet

\link{http://www.csiro.au/csiro/content/standard/psqs,,.html\there may be a pdf for the first chapter of the diet}
