Help put me off these boots :-)

I don't 'need' boots but I would like them. Love them both but if I bought one pair they would have to go on the card (no financial advice please).

I already have a pair of adorable Uggs

First pair. I have the clarks old version of those from a few years ago and they are so comfy and go with many things. Mine are pretty worn out but I can't get rid and am in fact wearing today!

Honestly? If you don't need boots, and you can't afford any more without putting them on credit, then don't buy any. That's my advice.

Oh sorry - I just saw the 'no financial advice' bit in your OP.

So yeah - get into debt over boots you don't need. That's my advice. Pick either. They're both ok.

Much prefer the Fly boots. The Clarks ones look too wide. Fly ones reduced too so a bit of a bargain.

These are similar - I have the same but in the knee high version and they are so so comfy.

They are both a bit boring for boots that you don't NEED. Plus suede is not practical in the wet and boots are for wet days really aren't they?

I mean I always think if shoes have to go on credit card they should be completely gorgeous.

I have the fly ones, and theyre gorgeous. Very slim calves though. Theyre also shit in bad weather. My last pair got water damaged within weeks. Flys response were that they were only fashion boots! I struggle to find boots that dont look like wellies on my slim calves though so i still got another pair even though they do let in the rain. I just wear different ones if its raining. Its a common problem with them. The cobbler told me that he'd had loads of pairs in of those boots.

I really like the look the clarks one, but i hate wearing non fitted boots that flap around and slip on and off.

The second ones are ok, but I agree, don't buy them if you don't need them.

They are both minging and definately "mum" boots-sorry but save your cash.

The Clarks boots are not flappy, they're quite difficult to pull on and you could wear them zipped or not because they fit the feet. Also the bottoms are leather, not suede.

I'd heard that About fly boots, all the reviews let water in, which isn't great for winter boots really is it?

I m not that keen on either (sorry ) but at a push, the first are ok. The thing with me is that I buy these exhilaratingly, heartstopping, 'feckitwhynot?' buys and I go off them v quickly want something else straight after.

I get much more satisfaction from a purchase that I have waited/saved for and not used credit.

I agree perma - that's so often the problem with buying needless treats on credit. As soon as the boots are a week old, OP will want another 'treat'.

Neither pair are really, really special IMVHO. The Clarks ones will probably be in the sale after Christmas. You don't need them, Christmas is just round the corner and, although you said no financial advice, you can't afford them!

God some people just don't listen do they?

How do you know I can't afford them?
How do you know I haven't got a massive tax rebate coming in two weeks?
How do you know I'm not working extra shifts and expecting that money?

Fact is that you don't, you just assumed I am struggling and buying everything on credit recklessly, despite me asking for no financial comment some of you just couldn't help it

You said they would have to go on the card, so therefore it is fairly safe to assume that at this moment in time, you can't afford them.
Personally, I would wait until you can. Especially if, as you say, you don't need them.

Buy them if you want. It's not my needless debt born of no patience. It's all yours.
