This coat - in red or navy?

This is a present from DH for Birthday & Christmas, I have both here to try on but can't decide which colour

Here is the red:

I like them both, the red is lovely & vibrant and I've never had a brightly coloured coat before, but I feel the navy is more classy and would be a better investment (this will have to last me forever as I'm about to become a SAHM), just wondering what others think?

The blue coat looks like a school uniform coat, the red is much better.

Definitely the navy. Duffle coats look much cosier in navy for some reason. Plus if it's an investment piece it's a much better idea to pick a neutral colour that you won't tire of.

You can always buy yourself a cheapo red coat in Primark to satisfy the red craving.

Red - you'll always regret it if you don't.

Red! It will make you feel happy every time you put it on. Screw the investment. People will call you "the lady in the red duffle coat" .

If it is a decent red, then go red.

It depends what the colours in your wardrobe are. I brought a red coat last year because I really wanted a bright coat to stand out in winter. the reality is that I've worn that coat twice because it doesn't go with any of my other clothes. For that reason although the red is lovely I would buy the blue.

I still can't decide! My boots & handbag are tan and my scarves are all cream / blush pink colours that do seem to look better with the navy - the red is a very bright red that would be better with black boots/bag/scarves I'd imagine - though I don't have the best eye for picking colours that go together!

Navy is definitely the most sensible. But also the most boring. I would totally go red.

I would get the red.
But if I owned lots of pink scarves etc then I'd get the blue.

I have had more compliments about a red coat than I have had over anything else I have ever worn. The colour lifts you.

I think the navy looks more expensive iykwim, the red looks a bit pinky to me and not as nice.

I have 2 proper pillar box red coats and always felt nice when I used to wear them.

Could you get some red knitwear as a compromise, or a red scarf?

The red might be more exciting when it arrives, but you'll tire of it far quicker.
