OMG look at these shoes in parchment www.bodenpreview.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Shoes-Boots/AR560/Womens-Casual-Loafer.html

Is there a matching hi visibility vest?

MaureenCognito · 26/10/2012 18:19

Yup. You wear them both on a coach trip.
Winter was way better than this.

MrsCampbellBlack · 26/10/2012 19:02

Should all have 20% off

OP posts:
Selky · 26/10/2012 19:26

Not impressed. There was quite a lot I liked in Winter.

Meggles76 · 26/10/2012 19:36

I don't see the 20% discount - is there a preview code?
I fancy the oversize stripe linen T and as I will need a size 6 in that style, I will order early or it will be sold out!

Meggles76 · 26/10/2012 19:40

At a quick glance, there are lots of horrors again, iffy patterns and some lurid colours...
That said, there are a few things I like: leather folded clutch, Ledbury dress (yay for a petite fit), blue spot print shirt, oversize linen T. I also need a new cashmere crop cardi.

MaureenCognito · 26/10/2012 20:06

The clutch you can get in plastic anywhere half the price

MrsCampbellBlack · 26/10/2012 20:19

prv1 - just checked

OP posts:
GeorginaWorsley · 26/10/2012 20:23

Very uninspiring.
Some of the trousers nice, have the Bistro crops this season and love them.
Otherwise,no tops or knitwear that tempts me,and cannot see a dress I would buy either.

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 26/10/2012 20:37

It's only me that likes the breton tops then?!

MaureenCognito · 26/10/2012 20:39

I can't do crops in winter. Cold feet

Parabolica · 26/10/2012 20:42

And there was me thinking Boden had taken a (v tentative) step in the right direction with their AW stuff. At least there were a few new different pieces and a vague nod to current trends. Practically all of the spring stuff is back to Boden-by-numbers Frumpsville. Even the names are same old same old - rainy day mac, photographer jacket, embellished spot cardigan, crinkle jersey shirt and endless stuff with great big bloody spots on them that just scream Boden. I know brands have their core fans but even M&S has funked it up a bit in recent months. I suppose they've tried to include some nods to the peplum and colourblocks trends but c'mon Boden this is what people are wearing now - its hardly going to be the cutting edge of fashion next summer!

Whats with all the funnel necks (on jumpers, dresses) - perhaps Teresa May has been an inspiration as MaureenCognito said, though I think I spotted the odd Harriet Harman jacket in there as well. Also the swishy coatigan is very K-Middy at her (ahem) most safe and boring.

And £89 for this - WTF!!! Truly hideous! teacher from 1960s

Still I guess I checked it out - something will invariably make it onto my wishlist Blush

JuliaFlyte · 26/10/2012 21:12

I hate the way they do this, we are not even in our winter coats yet and they have us looking at summer dresses. Drives me nuts, like seeing bikinis in M&S when you are buying the leftover mince pies in January.

MaureenCognito · 26/10/2012 21:13

Oh I agree. Winter stuff was much nicer. Is huge step backward

reindeerjumper · 26/10/2012 23:43

So frumpy! Winter was just a fluke then.

GrimAndHumourless · 27/10/2012 00:07

I really like that coatigan Blush

but yy the vast maj is HIDS

hattymattie · 27/10/2012 08:43

This is the first time I have actually never liked anything in Boden.Sad They've truly lost the plot.

Meggles76 · 27/10/2012 09:11

Thank you for code Mrs CB x

MaureenCognito · 27/10/2012 09:20

i never buy any of their bottoms. their reluctance to embrace stretch irks me as it owuld surely mean a better fit ofr more people

MaureenCognito · 27/10/2012 09:23

i like this a lot
www.bodenpreview.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Dresses/Above-Knee-Dresses/WH487-NAV/Womens-Navy-Drop-Waist-Dress.html

but am sure is an idiosyncratic fit

chocolateteabag · 27/10/2012 09:42

Really MC? You can see the model's bra through the drop waist dress.
If they can't get it right on the picture not much hope for me

MaureenCognito · 27/10/2012 09:43

hmm

MrsCampbellBlack · 27/10/2012 09:45

Its also very £££.

I like boden knitwear generally but that's about it.

They cut for pears and I am an apple so dresses etc never work on me.

OP posts:
herecomesthsun · 27/10/2012 10:57

Oh dear - that is pulling terribly across the model's slender shoulders and bosom - no actual human woman is going to fit into that, should she want to attend a fancy dress party as a tin soldier, of course.

polyhymnia · 27/10/2012 12:38

I'm really disappointed. I've been buying (selectively - not 'fun spots, etc - but quite a lot) from Boden for several years now and this is the ONLY preview where I haven't ordered ten or so pieces, at least to try. There is virtually nothing I like - so much that is boring/ frumpy/ in primary school colours.

Even bags, shoes and scarves are below usual standard - there are usually at least a couple of styles worth a try.

I really can hardly believe this has after the autumn stuff, which did seem to represent a step forward towards stylishness and modernity. Even the models look more bland and boring this time.

What has happened???
