Have decided that the Matthew Williamson jacket is too reminiscent of Showaddywaddy!
I have always bought Camel coloured clothing, Shop - I have an ancient Jaeger camelhair A line skirt with inverted front pleat that I frequently wear and an old camel hair PeaCoat from goodness knows where. Camel will never date and it cannot be identified as a particular season either.
Am browsing my Pinterest boards as I write and have seen plenty of camel inspiration- it looks great with a plum sunray pleat skirt, with all shades of grey and pale blues and with a either a shirt or sweater in tobacco and a bottom half in cream.
I like it casual with dark denim (even though this pic is here of a camel sweater, it shows how good it looks with denim)
Imagine this raincoat here is actually your camel coat -
Marsha Today I am wearing my Ochre cardigan with a storm blue tissue thin T shirt from C+C California layered over a cream lace top so the lace peeks out underneath. Although I have been in and out of dry aired heated offices/patients homes and cold dry outside, I haven't felt bulked up. Dark grey Helmut Lang cigarette pants, my Jasper Conran for Debenhams pale camel coloured boots and a Goose print scarf from Oliver Bonas here complete the outfit.
I love my scarf; a smudgy blue grey next to the face seems to liven up a Winter-drained complexion as opposed to exacerbating it which conventional 'fashion wisdom' often suggests. It actually tones down any tendency to orange/yellow tones just like a blue-toned red lipstick does, good for anybody with fading Summer tans/fake tan on their face.
I need to find a way of storing all my scarves so they aren't out of sight out of mind. If I cannot easily see them, I tend to end up wearing the same old ones. My wardrobes are so full, putting them on scarf hangers is not a solution. I don't want them draped everywhere either-trying to streamline my bedroom and limit the visual 'stimulation'. Suggestions anybody?
We've arranged our shoes in one of the spare bedrooms in boxes/racks as DH is the Imelda Marcus of shoe-manhood! I have quite a few pairs but not the amount he has and he has kept all of his ballet/practice pumps from his dancing years. He won't ever throw those away and when you realise how many pairs dancers get through, can you imagine how many pairs he has? All pretty much identical except for an electric-blue pair (don't ask!).....
Have few plans this weekend other than an Austrian friend over for Lunch tomorrow. Think I will bury myself under all the weekend papers. We have to attend a StepD's graduation ceremony next week- not particularly wishing to drive up to Leeds for one day. Am feeling very antisocial and sorry for myself at the moment. I love Leeds though-an architecturally and historically stunning city as long as they stop doing those vile cheap 'architect' conversions of beautiful inner city warehouses and industrial buildings. They are so identikit.
Anybody know of interesting stores/places to go/eating places in Leeds? I drove to Haworth last time I was there to pay my respects to the Bronte sisters. Appalled by the way Haworth has been turned into a 'Bronte Theme Park', full of gift shops and relatively few shops actually seeming to sell items useful to residents- like food!
Wishing everybody here a decent weekend...
