We don't have a mud room, we have a sand porch.

SrirachaGhoul · 13/10/2012 22:35

C'mon. I know you're out there! Treble bonus points for anyone that has the orangerie with actual (edible) oranges.

I thought of another one too: Granny Annex.

ujjayi · 13/10/2012 22:35

Oh and it also has it's own bathroom (technically a shower room but still..)

Way2Go · 13/10/2012 22:36

I used to have a playroom BUT I lived in the US. Do I get a free go?

marriedinwhite · 13/10/2012 22:39

We have a children's sitting room (which is a skinned and rather dark reclaimed front half of a refurbished manky cellar); I have a spice shelf and a herb shelf in a little infull cupboard in the kitchen; we do not have a "feature wall". We have a few period features though: tesselated floor, bit of stained glass, patch of damp, odd crack, bit of chipped cornice, all the usual stuff, etc..

We also have a study, a utility room, plenty of bogs, a ladder down to the river; a family sitting room and a rather small drawing room which really is better described as a "front room".

If we move, I want a BOOT room Grin.

thatlldopigthatlldo · 13/10/2012 22:40

i have none of these things.
we have bedrooms, kitchen, toilet, no the other toilet, a living room.
and that's it.

if you have a 'present wrapping room' then you need to seek help immediately.

FellatioNelson · 13/10/2012 22:41

Playroom yes, (even though my children are too old to play) spice rack no, and I do have a feature wall now but I've only just done it, so that makes me so far past the trend that I am officially starting it early ready for next time. Grin

FellatioNelson · 13/10/2012 22:42

I keep trying to persuade everyone in my house to call the playroom 'the den' but it's not quite tripping off the tongue.

Downfall · 13/10/2012 22:43

I will always be too young for a spice rack then

Mud rooms, Montessori rooms, Waldorf, Media...? I think I'll back away from the thread now, I'm clearly out of my depth...

tara0202 · 13/10/2012 22:44

Oh no, I have a feature wall although I don't call it that - its just a wall with wall paper and was here when we moved in.

I also have twigs Shock and they have fairy lights on them Shock Shock

I certainly don't have a nursery, my 5 month old sleeps in his bedroom. I do wonder when a babies bedroom became a nursery? Weren't they at the top of old mansions where the kids were educated etc by a "governess"?

I have just moved and we have a big building thing (oh I hate to describe it), its like a little mini brick house but is one big room - kitted out as a second living room with all DH's shit, xbox stuff etc. I still call it the outhouse. My friends said it is too posh to be called an outhouse and I have to call it a "den" or aaarrghh a SNUG. Oh God, no thanks, it will have to remain the outhouse.

All the kids toys are in the conservatory. I am thankful its a conservatory so I can call it that and not a play room phew.

Ohsiena · 13/10/2012 22:45

I'm buying paints tommorow.

Ok, who has Games room, with a snooker or a pool table? C'mon I know you're out there I've seen you.

rockinhippy · 13/10/2012 22:47

No playroom,

but I suspect my spice WALL, in faux French dresser style & contrasting recess walls in complimentry prints makes me the biggest loserGrin

We also have a computer room & workroom, not sure if they gain or lose pointsConfused

BoringSchoolChoiceNickname · 13/10/2012 22:49

I have already admitted to a games room - but it is an Edwardisn convertible snooker/dining table, very badly in need of baize refurbishment so currently just a dining table.

SrirachaGhoul · 13/10/2012 22:49

Now I want a "ladder down to the river". That sounds v. Swallows and Amazons Envy.

seeker · 13/10/2012 22:55

I have a wheelhouse and an engine room. And a study/music room called the forepeak.

YouveCatToBeKittenMe · 13/10/2012 22:56

We have a 'space' called the playroom, but it is just the end of the lounge and not a separate room, so probably doesn't count

don't have a spice rack

don't actually know what a feature wall is....but no probably not

so I more or less pass Grin

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 13/10/2012 22:56

Yes yes no

Turquoiseblue · 13/10/2012 23:02

Ohh guilty ... Have a playroom, and a whole cupboard thing that s a spice rack. But no feature wall, no twigs n pebbles, no cloak room, we do have a pantry

bonnieslilsister · 13/10/2012 23:02

what on earth is a feature wall?

no spice rack

mustn't mention the playroom

MeFour · 13/10/2012 23:03

Our last house had a boot room, a utility, and a huge coat cupboard.
We also had a playroom and a lego/pool table room. You have to start with poncey names when there's so many bleeding rooms
We now live in a house about the size of the coat cupboard

bishboschone · 13/10/2012 23:28

I have a playroom and a feature wall.. I lose !!!

seeker · 13/10/2012 23:38

But nobody else has a forepeak!

SrirachaGhoul · 13/10/2012 23:40

What is a forepeak, seeker?

MeFour · 13/10/2012 23:46

I'm sure you're not the only boater seeker.

QueenMaeve · 13/10/2012 23:50

Fellatio, 'den' is not working in our house either the damn dc insist on calling it the movie room, which sounds awful. I am also trying to get everyone to call one of our front rooms, the snug, but dh told me to catch myself on.
What are we supposed to call the playroom?
Also I have a pantry, do I win?
