I'm shocked by the amount of fraeks who wear pants over tights

er "Hello - this is Lycra calling!"

OR even fraekier - bloody wear two pairs of tights - like a giant human onion.

or tights and spanks - like a vast be-polyestered Wurst

Last night I wore a pair of tights that reached my bra line fgs. that was weird enough

Sounds unhygienic.

(Or are you American?)

SauvignonBlanche · 06/10/2012 15:51

WTF is a fraek?

BonnyDay · 06/10/2012 15:52

a freak

One pair under+ one pair over=no wrinkly ankles.

Wetthemogwai · 06/10/2012 15:56

I'm going out tonight and wearing a pair of spanxs and 2 pairs of tights. And knickers. Go on. Be appalled I don't care because I'll look thin

BonnyDay · 06/10/2012 15:56

oh god. will you be able to walk?

BonnyDay · 06/10/2012 15:57

SomethingOnce · 06/10/2012 15:57

Knickers first, then everything else in whatever order.

MrsjREwing · 06/10/2012 15:58

Why two pairs of tights?

BonnyDay · 06/10/2012 15:59

i dunno
sometimes i do without the pants altogether.
i am a hosiery nihilist

2 pairs because I have fat legs and with one pair you can see the strain on the tights if I only wear one. That and it's more 'pull in' power and warmth as I'll be very cold tonight.
It's like wearing leggings but with feet or the skinniest of skinny jeans

I can't do without knickers, it feels so so wrong and hate the constant threat of camel toe!

Get the next size up tights with a higher denier?

Fimbo · 06/10/2012 16:15

Ooh pants over tights I did that when I was a wee lassie of 5. Rather my mum made me, to stop my tights falling down as I was tiny skinny thing way back then, unlike the heifer status I am today.

Fimbo · 06/10/2012 16:15

And that well known fashion emporium Primarni do the best tights.

Wetthemogwai · 06/10/2012 16:16

Or just buy a packet of cheap ones and wear 2 pairs? It's not uncomfortable and you can't tell!

Wetthemogwai · 06/10/2012 16:17

fimbo primarni control wet look leggings are amazing!

MarchelineWhatNot · 06/10/2012 16:18

Oh God, I can remember having to wear knickers over wooly tights. It was to stop them falling down as they were all too small and mum couldn't afford to buy me new ones.

LadyStark · 06/10/2012 16:19

I wear pants over tights. It helps keep them up! I've tried so many different sizes, brands, deniers etc and nothing stops the sag as well as wearing a big pair of pants over the top.

hugoagogo · 06/10/2012 16:23

I used to wear one pair under and one pair over, the over pair became the under pair the following day to save washing. Hmm Grin

Worn underneath a kilt with a vest attached and a navy polo neck jumper. Good times.

EnjoyGOLDResponsibly · 06/10/2012 16:24

I have discovered Oasis 120 denier.

Great fit
Very black, cannot see any transparency at all
Very soft
Wash well

ER rating 10/10

i have never worn pants over tights! i have worn hold them all in spandex pants and then tights designed to do to same. no issues with tights falling donw.

dd is 21 mths and wear lots of tighs, i put her vest under her tights and again no falling down issues. nowadays tights seem pretty good with the elastic etc, i dont have a fallnig down issue for myself or dd.

Fimbo · 06/10/2012 16:27

Wetthemogwait, my dd has the 100 denier ones for school and loves them, they come complete with a gusset presumably for those who don't wear pants underneath, (to be clear my dd does wear pants!) she says it helps to keep them up.

I have the 40/60 denier range and they are good too. I also personally prefer their £3 leggings to the awful pair that I bought in H & M.

Meglet · 06/10/2012 16:29

Tights under trousers is weird. I thought people wore pop-socks but it seems some women really do it Confused.

5madthings · 06/10/2012 16:33

tights under trousers isnt wierd! i do it in the winter when its cold! and it prevent the muffin top issue if you get a good pair that hold you in and go high up, gives a nice smooth line!
