I have put my pic up temporarily, can you tell me if red would suit my skin tone?

Very posey and naff pic, sorry Grin

Not having any time I tried figuring out my colours at home and I think I am an Autumn.

I have my eye on this dress in black but would also like to buy it in red. I like red but just not sure if it would wash me out or clash with my skin tone. I look paler than this in the winter so would probably wait till summer to wear it or use some fake tan/ bronzer.

Waddya think?

I think you would suit greens and blues more

jumpingjackamo · 22/09/2012 14:59

Ah thanks! Green is my fave colour and I was debating over this dress too.

yes, I think it would.

but I do think green would be better

puds11 · 22/09/2012 15:01

Your very pretty! I think you would be ok with the red. It would go with your hair and eyes.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 22/09/2012 15:02

Yes, I'd go for green or teal if I were you :)

lurkingaround · 22/09/2012 15:02

Just had a look at your pic, you look quite sallow? I'm sallow, (and pale) and I find yellow-based reds don't do me any favours. I look a bit yellow in them. The colder blue-based ones are better on me.

That's not a whole lot of help really, sorry, am a bit of a random muser at times Grin

Thank you puds!

Thats the thing, I have red/ dark brown hair but sallow skin so finding it really difficult to decide on what colours suit me.

I think I might take the leap and buy it anyway. If I really don't feel comfy in it I might ebay it.

I always feel like blues make me look paler and clash with my hair tone but might give it a try.

I gonna go find some blue fabrics around the house and hold them up to my face to see what I think Grin

I think you would suit red, yes.

RikersBeard · 22/09/2012 15:16

I think it would depend on the red shade.
If you are an autumn, then warm darker reds should suit. When I had my colours done, I was told that neutral red suits everybody too, ie a pillarbox red with no pink, blue or orange tone

SomethingOnce · 22/09/2012 15:36

Not easy to judge colours on a screen, but possibly not the amaryllis red of that dress with your skin tone.

Are you wearing lip colour in the photo?

cocolepew · 22/09/2012 15:40

I'm very pale but with sallow undertones. Everytime I wear red I get told how much it suits me. My hair and eyes are dark brown.
I must wear it more often actually! You have very nice eyes.

IShallPracticeMyCurtsey · 22/09/2012 16:46

I think you'd look great in cool reds.

captaincourageous · 22/09/2012 17:23

Another vote for the reds. Could really imagine it working well with your colouring I have similar colouring and red (and also purple/plum) really suit me.

badtasteflump · 22/09/2012 17:32

Are you sure you're not a Winter rather than an Autumn, with your colouring?

Autumns suit browns and oranges; winters look better in black and deep pinks/blues - looking at your pic I can imagine you more in those colours....

badtasteflump · 22/09/2012 17:33

PS I think the red dress would be good, as long as it's not orangey red!

IShallPracticeMyCurtsey · 22/09/2012 19:30

Yeah OP I think you look like a Winter. In which case have fun with your new dress-the shade looks right to me.

neverquitesure · 22/09/2012 19:37

Well I think you'll look fabulous in whatever you wear, you are very pretty Envy

I don't have a clue about Autumns, Winters etc but i am also pale and thought I couldn't wear blue, until I tried a really bright vibrant blue which did. I can wear pretty much any green though and all reds wash me out

racingheart · 22/09/2012 20:10

I imagine you would look good in a strong bright red or bright crimson. You are very pretty btw.

Villageninja · 22/09/2012 22:54

I think you are a winter because you have dark hair and brilliant bright eyes! Skin colour not that relevant. Think bold cool deep colours. Wear contrasting colours together. Red is fab as long as its not orangey.

Paintyourbox · 22/09/2012 22:59

Go for the red- it's gorgeous. And you are such a pretty girl!

Phaedra11 · 23/09/2012 09:32

You have very similar skin tone and eyes to my friend and she looks great in red - very glamourous!
